    interesting. i heard (can't remember where) that the reason the buy back was so low was that there were discussions around the wage he would be coming back on however as i type, it might have been the archer deal they were talking about

    media reporting on him means they're either totally oblivious of any buy back (entirely possible) or that the clause is complicated. as others have said, there's no standard, it can be structured however the 2 clubs like it could've been something like "villa have a buy back of £15m but if a champions league club offer £25m then that trumps villa's buy back" for example

    diaby and bailey have been rotated throughout the season, in the league and cup. it's not that simple. IMO anyway if we're talking villa players, i actually think JJ could be a good differential. zaniolo is out of favour so he's a nailed on started at the moment, and he has started putting in performances more like those we were seeing pre-injury.

    big maybe. no returns in 6, and 3 of those were sheff utd, bournemouth and forest. wonder if palace have a new manager bounce as their fixtures aren't bad gross has done well for me last 2 weeks and fixtures remain ok for the short term

    Love villa on tour. Watch the matchday vlogs religiously and all seem like great lads But weirdly I really don't like the podcast. They don't seem to offer much different to the others and feel like they're missing a trick in not talking enough about things like ticket allocations, transport, away fan experience etc etc. The last two get mentioned but I feel this should be their niche. There are 7 other pods I can listen to to hear about what happened on the pitch.

    It's less valuable now than it used to be as there's such an obvious choice now. I remember a few seasons ago salah hauled in a DGW and number of folks tc'd which helped rank massively

    foden didn't fare much better either. despite my haaland TC i think i was better off rank wise before he scored as i've got flekken in goal. oh and my solanke to adebayo transfer has just been a disaster

    i can't even pick a highlight. that was indeed an amazing episode but i spent the whole family flashback one getting moaned at by the mrs because i'd promised her a brew and couldn't tear myself away from it for 2 mins to make her one. it's not just great tv, but some of the best tv i've watched in my lifetime. really deserving of the accolades it's received.

    the tories have lost the next GE. whether that's in a month from now, or in december. there's absolutely no coming back for them. they know it, we all know it crap like this, i honestly believe, is a very deliberate ploy to **** this country up so much so that labour won't even make a dent in the problems they inherit and ultimately look like a failure. it's the only play they have left if they want to regain power in 4 years or so.

    I'll never forget last summer when they did a podcast to review the USA tour and greggs opening line was "I don't watch friendlies dan". I actually didn't used to mind him but since he's stepped away from covering villa I've got no idea why he's still on 1874
