  1. This was the biggest error for me. Luiz is quickly becoming out most important player and we were lost without him
  2. I think it's AZ at home next who we can give a real uphill battle to if we win Edit, Ignore, you're right
  3. At least AZ lost. There's a slight positive to come out of tonight
  4. Very good point. He 100% would've been better than Chambers tonight
  5. we have 5 opportunities to rectify this if it turns out to be a mistake hibs we only had 1...we had to get the job done in the first leg. plus it was earlier in the season, players were fresher
  6. duran and chambers i'm a bit surprised about, the rest i kinda expected
  7. i might look at a GW8 wildcard as a lot of teams' fixtures swing after then...city's become tough, arsenal and brighton a couple of tough ones, brentford not great. meanwhile spurs and liverpool are very nice indeed from then
  8. getting nervous now. a win would be massive. we really, really don't want this additional game (not that draw/loss immediately results in that) but i think it would be amazing to get off to a winning start
  9. they said that when it reopens it will be as hospitality i.e. it wouldn't be the holte suite as we know it. not sure if they gave timescales but it's been closed so far this season but yes, it sounds like they thought the news would go down better than it did as it comes across that there was a bit of a 'WTF??' from the attendees of the meeting so there will probably be some lessons learned
  10. definitely want to see more goals from mcginn now he seems to be playing further forward
  11. i actually think 4.5 hours of all inclusive food and drink for under £100 isn't terrible but you'd need to make sure you get your money's worth and as others have speculated i'm skeptical that the bar staff will serve quick enough. i'd want 6 pints in the 2.5 hours before plus at least 2 after to make it worth my while 8 pints @ £6 each = £48 £20 ish worth of food £10 for entrance to a nice venue that includes meeting ex players etc £80 is probably the max i'd pay based on that
  12. from what i remember of the holte suite they had amstel and moretti on tap, so unlimited amstel is not bad at all. it won't stay £60 for long though
  13. good point. that curry sauce goes right through me.
  14. doesn't specify alcoholic drinks...maybe i've just become cynical of this new regime but i bet that means unlimited soft drinks if it's a free bar, then sign me up
  15. i don't really have a dog in this fight as i very rarely went to the holte suite, but what i don't like is that one of the season ticket benefits is "access to exclusive lounges/suites on a matchday". please correct me if i'm wrong, but there are no other such facilities that are available to season ticket holders now? so this benefit is now null and void
  16. as someone else said, there's no way they would allow football fans to tuck into a free bar for 2.5 hours. even if they were willing, i'd imagine the police would find a way of stopping it.
  17. £120 a game is obviously ludicrous but £60 for existing season ticket holders for all you can eat food for 4.5 hours with a 2 hour break in the middle? that sounds like a challenge to me...i reckon i could have a pretty decent crack at putting away £60 worth in that time so it's actually not a horrendous deal
  18. pretty sure we did once upon a time?
  19. i do feel for those priced out of games. i can't imagine what it must be like. i'm lucky that my income far exceeds my outgoings (not on a super high salary, just live a modest life with no kids and a 2nd income from gambling) for me, it's my primary hobby. if flights all doubled in price, i'd stop going on holiday. if beer doubled in price, i'd stop drinking. my season ticket could double in price though, and i'd probably still renew it (i'd probably be sat in the ground on my own if that happened though but at least i'd stand a chance of a pint at half time!).
  20. it's not based on nothing though is it? it's things like turning the holte suite into a new hospitality area etc and his view that "we're going to bring in as much money as possible even if that upsets the fans" (paraphrased from the FCG meeting minutes). in said meeting he seemed to take umbridge with the idea that corporate and 'regular' fans were different which is nonsense. it's these 'regular' fans that will be there through thick and thin...you won't find many paying for the terrace view if we got relegated.
  21. this, i agree with. some people freaking love it...i don't get it even though we were in premium, our flight back saturday night was miserable. i never sleep on planes and was super tired and uncomfortable the whole time plus the breakfast served in the morning was absolutely revolting (the person at the catering company virgin uses that thinks sweet potatoes belong on a supposed full english breakfast needs shooting), and i'd either already seen or just didn't fancy any of the inflight movies. first world problems i know, but flying is indeed well shit.
  22. on the flip side i never understand people that upgrade for short haul...you get no real benefits apart from that weird seat that has a makeshift table next to you. as you say, it's not long...by the time you've taken off they start the decent for the benefits you get, the premium upgrade price is definitely not worth it (we were on virgin and it was double that of economy) but by god it was lovely.
