  1. Compare them. One is more useful. Samatta loses the ball and can't score. Davis keeps the ball, brings others into play and can't score.
  2. It's so obvious. Everything breaks down with Samatta and Trezeguet. Every time. I can't take it.
  3. This. We'd be a passable team if we had even passable quality in place of Samatta and Trezeguet. Also, Wesley >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Samatta.
  4. I can't take watching Trezeguet **** up these great positions over and over again. We've been in good positions.
  5. Samatta touches the ball in good positions and loses it every time. Same with Trezeguet. This is our problem. The quality in attack is woeful.
  6. I thought he looked good against Palace. I think he's been getting more up to speed over the course of this post-lockdown run of games. It's good to have him back in the team.
  7. Pretty sure there hasn't been a movement in history where people haven't tried to discredit it. That's the same thing here with BLM. At its most basic, and the reason people have been protesting, is in protest at racial inequality, against racism, and, obviously, the horrendous way black people keep getting killed by police in America. It's all of that though. People haven't been protesting in order to overthrow capitalism (although, we should note capitalism is an ever-evolving thing, and a lot of what we see these days is exploitative and bullshit, and deserves a critical eye). But there are a lot of people who would like to make people with only half an eye on the situation think that actually BLM is anti-white (bullshit) and about communism (also bullshit—although there are people everywhere with the view that our economic system caters for and benefits a select few, and who would argue with that? Sure, capitalism generates wealth too, but there are flip sides to this. We should be able to discuss everything, all of it openly without people crying about Marxist this and that. I kept this in the brackets because, as I say, contrary to some people's desires, the issues raised by BLM are about racism.) I'm as open-minded about this as can be. The BLM statue in Bristol is a stunt it seems? I kind of think it's way too provocative and a bit of a dickish thing to do. Of course there should be a different statue in Bristol—a statue that marks something specific to Bristol, one that doesn't depict a slave trader like he's some kind of thing to be lauded. There are a lot of options.
  8. They've already had their share of them I hope!
  9. Seems I did the classic message board picking up the fag end of a conversation then. Apologies.
  10. I didn't see that. I was only reacting to the sentence 'We need to be very careful as a society if that is the path some want to go down'.
  11. I was saying it in the game. I'm not sure why Jack isn't making more noise. He looks troubled, but he needs to be raising the bar when it comes to passion. He's the captain. He's a fan. He should get it. Pretty sure I remember him looking happy a moment afterwards though in the next bit of the celebration.
  12. The first part of my post was a genuine question. I agree, a 12 year old does not need public shaming. Of course not. Surely nobody suggested that. If they did—yeah they are dicks.
  13. What do you actually think is going to happen to him though to justify this fear you have? I know throwing him off a cliff is a metaphor, but I imagine he'll have a few words and that's it. He deserves it too, but we all understand that, right? Just because we heard about it in the news doesn't make it a sign of a dark decent into extreme reactions against twelve year old idiots.
  14. I live in Madrid. I was going to live elsewhere in Europe too and had an eye on certain jobs in Germany. From the bottom of my heart, the hatred I feel towards Leave voters for the end of FOM will never go. The option now is stay in Spain or lose the rights to live in the one final country out of the UK (and Ireland, for the free travel area) left after Brexit. It's not just myself I feel sorry for. It's all the people in the UK who are losing their opportunity to find opportunities elsewhere. I tell you what it's **** depressing seeing the Spanish, the French, the Polish, the Italians, the Belgians, the Dutch, the Irish that I know and work with in Spain continuing to live carefree, knowing the opportunities they have over us from the UK. Some of these same Europeans have have recently lived in Paris for a while—others Amsterdam, Brussels, Berlin, Palermo, Rome, Venice, Lisbon, Warsaw. Some have come and gone and come back again through jobs. We had that too. What country has ever removed so many rights from their own citizens? Usually this kind of thing happens when there's some kind of oppression going on...like against the Africans in aparteid South Africa. I still haven't heard a good argument for it happening either. I just had a good chat with my Brexit mum today. No surprise she still doesn't have a clue about the EU. Edit. Presumably you asked that question to make yourself feel better. 'Oh nobody really wants freedom of movement, so no trouble to our conscience.' I know plenty of British people who have taken advantage of it. It opens your eyes a bit getting out of the UK too.
  15. Did the ref give man u a free penalty tonight? Are Southampton also an established premier League team with years of investment? Dammit. I forgot, you literally only care about moaning about the same thing in every post.
  16. If he goes to Man City I hope he does like Benteke did on Sunday and secretly miss all his chances on purpose because he still loves us really.
  17. Rolta

    Kortney Hause

He's played well except for two dodgy passes. He wins a lot in the air. I think he's OK.
  18. When he scored two, I said I'd change my name to Trezeguet too if he got a hat trick. I was OKish with that miss.
  19. His Genk show reel is pretty good. He might be struggling with adapting/getting up to speed. Benteke was strong and physical and made for the Prem when he came (Benteke being a good comparison as they came from the same team). Samatta is a different kind of player entirely. I've never been impressed tbh, but giving him a positive spin and a chance in the future. I would 100% play Davis ahead of him against Everton/Arsenal/West Ham though.
  20. This seems not to fit in with any of the facts. Except maybe Elmo playing. And to be fair to Konsa, he could have had a few assists in the last few games if our strikers could header at the goal.
  21. He got an assist and put in some dangerous crosses. He was also close to scoring. He got an assist at Newcastle too—although I don't remember much about that as I'd had a few by then. I'm not his biggest fan and see his limitations, but he does often have a hand in us scoring.
  22. Weirdly, I think the Man U game was his best performance for us. He looked OK.
