  1. I know staying in the division is of paramount importance....but if in the long run you want to make the club attractive to a potential buyer I would say you are more likely to go for a swashbuckling attacking minded manager who plays attractive football and creates an engaged fanbase as that is going to get us on the radar a lot more than a tony pulis like manager.
  2. The guy is an absolute G. He went out there and batted Pat Murphy off like Viv Richards in this pomp in a away that took as much pressure off Lambert as possible (as he convinced everyone his job was not under threat in any way) and then when the trigger had to be pulled he pulled it. Im sure he'd have sacked lambert sooner if it was just up to him which makes his convincing performance in front of Murphy even more commendable. At the same time he is putting a proper structure in place at the club (finally) and generally taking care of business.
  3. Prandelli for me. http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2014/jun/13/cesare-prandel...
  4. sod off lambert you mong, enjoy your millions.
  5. i honestly think he has paralysed the squad - 12 goals in 20 odd performances, that is hard to turn around even with new manager syndrome. Should have gone ages ago, he's been beyond atrocious.
  6. we could just start him and sub him off after 1 minute
  7. Excellent yet again whilst Okore gets all plaudits. So underrated by a large section.
  8. He certainly had become a shitter player on here since it seemed he wasn't going to sign. He was excellent last season.
  9. Big player news, Aston villa are keeping one of their players - wow, we really are spoilt.
  10. you really pissed on my chips there. do you want a chip? lol
  11. If it was a signing, they would have said news of a big signing.
  12. Chelsea 2-0 Bradford... ...to Chelsea 2-2 Bradford! Yesterday: Oh Lambert doesn't have enough money, you need money to beat teams. Today: Look! Look! Other teams lose games (against teams with no money). Moral of the story. Don't blame money for the ineptness of the current manager. Pathetic Really? We've been told for weeks and weeks you need money to win games, now suddenly teams who don't have money win big games and having no money isn't an issue? What's that all about? Weird eh? You're confusing the impact of money on a single match with the impact of money over 40-50 matches in a season. The point being made is that occasionally lower league teams beat bigger teams, and our failures in the cup under Lambert aren't particularly remarkable. I've pointed out before that we've won as many games against lower league teams as we've lost, which isn't great but not horrendous. Well said, cup upsets happen and the manager shouldn't be slated for them. If mighty Chelsea can lose to Bradford then so can we. They do happen. The issue is when they consistently happen and you're shit in the league. Again no sure why some look at one cup loss in isolation. We've lost 3 times, we've won more than we've lost but people are obsessed with mentioning those 3 games. Well that's the beauty of the cup, when you lose you cant lose again cos you are out of the cup. You can't lose more then once a year in the bloody thing.
  13. I like Herdy. Its unbelievable though that he will be 26 in a couple of months and he's made what...about 30 odd appearances for Villa.
  14. That's the Kinder speculation I like. Its not going to be a surprise now though.
  15. Why are we completely shit and lose to Sheffield Utd, Leyton Orient, Millwall, Bradford over two legs and struggle against the likes of Blackpool if it's all down to Budget?
  16. Did JPA not play that match? Look at Gregory in the sharp suit with the Villa crest. I miss him. What a word removed gerrard was with that tackle...and our players hardly reacted to it, was a sickener.
  17. Merkel's only in one...but why?
  18. we have had the most possession though, right?
  19. Whilst I have my doubts, at the moment at least, about Lambert's abilities overall, when he has been able to spend decent money, in Aston Villa terms, he has done well, so if he wants to buy Gil for that sort of money I would be hopeful that Gil would be a good buy. If we ever get a new owner we should give him 100 mill in the transfer window and then sack him as soon as he's spent it : )
  20. http://www.deportevalenciano.com/2015/01/07/oferta-premier-carles-gil-valencia-quiere-siga This article is from yesterday, before it was announced on radio during the Valencia game that we were the club who had made the offer last Friday. It reads that if he is going to stay then he doesn't want to go to another Spanish team on loan again, he would rather leave permanently to England. I guess it could just be his agent trying to get him a new deal, but usually we see with these local Spanish papers/radio stations/reporters that a lot of this stuff is true. Carlos Sanchez comes to mind. Time for a new thread btw? Sanchez's old team mate at Elche..he may have been spotted when going to look at Sanchez (or maybe it was the other way round)
  21. If its true...please lets gazzump Stoke and get Shaqiri!! Lambo and Pep are bezzies after all.
  22. Couldn't get into the 18 man squad, attitude questioned by Pepe Mel.
  23. Try and out pass these lot Lambert you plum.
