It's nothing new with this type of player in this price bracket. Obviously if you are trying to be creative or clever it won't always work especially if team mates aren't on the same wavelength. One of those player who undoubtedly will look and play better with better players around them... ie Jack!

I noticed last night that on a couple of occasions Luiz decided to dribble the ball upfield! I wish he would do this more as I'm sure he's capable. -
Early in the season Targett and Grealish had a good partnership on the left and he was always pushing forwards

He doesn't make any attempt to get stuck in when a player is a few yards away. Baffling.

Despite him giving away the ball dangerously on occasion I thought his generla play was very good. Also defended very well in the box. He's 23 and he's going to be very very good I think.

Think that was a perfect return for Jack. 25mins, good few touches, quality still there of course but at the same time didn't push it too much. What a relief he's back. -

An example could be when you do a bicep curl. The curl upwards is muscle tension and the downward curl is load. Anyone more qualified in such matters feel free to correct me if I've got that wrong. -

Loading is force exerted by an object on a muscle as opposed to force exerted by the muscle. -
Ollie made a snap decision to jump to ground. Yes there was contact after the jump but its too late. If he was clever about it he could have won the penalty cleanly just like Kane would have done. Stay on your feet and then ensure the contact. Job done. Even Ollie's sheepish reaction was telling. He's not a cheat, he tried to be cute and failed and the ref made the decision he did. I don't doubt for a second if that happened against us the ref would give a pen. Anyway Ollie will learn from it.

I know hes not a diver but he was trying to be cute I think and it didn't work out. Could he have stayed in his feet though...

I keep on seeing that image posted in various places but he had already decided to go to ground before that contact was made. Ollies reaction also told me he was looking for the pen. I think if that was an opposition player we would all be calling dive as well.

Ollie could have won that penalty if he was "clever" like Harry Kane and left his leg in rather than jumping first. I don't disagree the ref was cack but Ollie gave a biased ref an easy albeit shite decision.

It was good play by Greenwood and unfortunately Mings committed a bit too much rather than standing up to him. To be honest I thought Emi could have saved that.

I actually haven't got too many complaints with the sending off. To me Ollie had jumped before contact to regardless of his intentions it looked like a dive. What really annoys me is the ref not giving a couple of yellows to Manure in the first half. He also completely ignored El Ghazi getting clattered into which looked as foul. Ref seemed to be letting Man U get away with more than us.

I just don't understand how players can't be fully alert to not giving away stupid penalties. Infuriating lack of awareness or composure. The fact Pogbas back was toward goal makes it even worse. We have a horrible habit of shooting ourselves in the foot when all was going well. Doug's a very good player for us generally so we'll just have to suck it up and hope that is the final lesson to be learnt!

Unfortunately Johns passing is a liability at the moment. Needs to spend extra hours on the training pitch!

I've been harping on about this for weeks and weeks but see what a difference it makes when you move the ball with some pace. Our movement is better and our possession is better. That was a great game to watch and first time I've not felt too nervous about conceding!

Seems to have made a break through with whatever mental block he had. Was working hard all game, towards the end you could physically see the exertion which I've not seen from him for ages. Surely that performance will pay off fitness wise for the upcoming games and put him in a really positive frame of mind.

Sounds a perfect fit for Villa lol I'm sure Pereira is a decent player but we made Joelinton look good too!
