  1. Not impressed by either France or Australia.
  2. You deal with it. You don’t ask the victim whether he gets to keep his job which your mate seemed to be suggesting unless I misunderstood. I think we actually agree for the most part. I just think your friends response was unusual that she couldn’t pass opinion as she had never been in that situation and the victim would be best to give an opinion which is a load of rubbish because domestic abuse victims will often side with their abuser.
  3. What are they actually asking the women though? The club either believe he has done the things he was accused of in which case surely it’s an easy sacking or they don’t in which case they keep him employed and don’t ask other employees to decide his fate. The club have had the opportunity to do something good but are clearly going to hope that their women employees bail them out and support their decision to keep i him. Cowards.
  4. I think that’s an unusual response. All the women I have spoken with about it think he should be kicked out.
  5. That would be given if it was the other way round.
  6. Yep, make the women who are dependent on the club for their salaries and future contracts support the decision and take the flak for it. Awesome.
  7. This is box office. So glad we are not involved in this situation.
  8. That’s mad when you think about it. Unless Bellingham just didn’t want to go there.
  9. Hope they don’t come sniffing round here with that money.
  10. Presume the quotes came from the press conference. They often hold back a story from the pc until late evening and then all release it at once. Press embargo or something? The quotes are a bit odd though. A coach wouldn’t normally talk about an opposition player, but then didn’t Emery talk about his desire to sign Felix or was that after the window had closed?
  11. Chelsea tend to have a fair few but they have a such a massive squad. I remember Liverpool got decimated a couple of seasons ago.
  12. It’s been hours and I’m still gutted. Must feel like a punch in the stomach for Emery and all his meticulous planning and preparation.
  13. Because they have pre agreed to and signed a legally binding document saying they will transfer him back to us if we trigger the clause (if this all goes through as reported). If Ramsey and Burnley start breaching the terms of the contract in a few years then we would take them to court. I would also imagine the FA may stop him registering for a third club if there has been a breach but I don’t know. Contracts matter. That is why Cardiff have had to pay Nantes the full fee for Sala and were put under a transfer embargo until they did. I obviously don’t know the ins and outs of this deal more than anyone else but I know that there will be the legal teams of two clubs and a player agreeing to all terms of it before it is signed because it is legally enforceable.
  14. Well no because then Ramsey would be in breach of the contract that he willingly signed. He is not a passive party in this, he will be signing a deal knowing the terms of it and that we can buy him back. I think Alan Nixon in one of the very early reports about this referred to Ramsey negotiating the terms of his future wages should we buy him back.
  15. I’ve seen some lad tweet RIP Buendias ACL or something like that but nothing more than that. He’s getting reactions but not saying any more. Hoping he’s just an attention seeker.
  16. I don’t!! At all! But I just think we might need to sell an asset at some point to help balance the books and I would hope the club are planning well for this eventuality.
  17. Surely what we learned from the Grealish saga is that sometimes players want to leave regardless of the affiliation they have for the club and we’re not Real Madrid so there will always be a better project out there. FFP is also a reality and we can’t just keep spending. At some point you need to make a calm planned sale of a valuable asset to balance the books and the key to not ending up in a mess is planning ahead.
  18. I think at some point soon, we’re going to have to sell one of our favourites for big money to help with the finances/ffp. Not necessarily this window but within the next couple. It could be Dougie, I think planning replacements is a wise move for the likes of Martinez, Luiz, Watkins, Kamara (not all of them but if one of them left!) so that when it happens we are able to move on reasonably seamlessly. Not like we did with Jack or how West Ham seem to be struggling post Rice. We need to aim to handle it like Brighton.
  19. 1. Man City 2. Man United 3. Arsenal 4. Brighton 5. Liverpool 6. Chelsea 7. Newcastle 8. Spurs 9. Villa 10. Brentford 11. Bournemouth 12. Fulham 13. Palace 14. West Ham 15. Burnley 16. Everton 17. Forest 18. Wolves 19. Sheffield United 20. Luton I know I’m seeming a bit pessimistic re our league position but I think we’ll do better in the cups, maybe win one, definitely a final but I think our squad still isn’t deep enough to keep consistence of results if we get a few injuries and the games are coming thick and fast. Wolves might be ok but I’d be surprised if they weren’t in and around the bottom. I think Burnley will do well and Brighton have looked excellent in pre season and seem to have recruited well (again).
  20. Don’t think details have been announced yet.
