Other than results/reports on the BBC and other sports news websites I didn't get to see much of Jack over the last couple of years in the championship here in Oz......but to critisise him for his performances so far is really unfair imo, he's adapting to a new league with a fair few new players around him, I've watched every PL Villa game at least twice so far and the only players I would put ahead of him performance wise would be the Mingles followed by SJM after that Jack is right up there. He will be a great Villa player at some point but never going to be world class I reckon he has it in his locker to be a Delph/Young level player which is no mean feat, can see some senior England caps coming his way at some point but he's no Gerrard!

Don't think we need to be making whosale changes let's try and keep some momentum going, think we can be a bit more offensive though so Targett in for Taylor, a start for Davis with big Wes on the bench. And mings rested so a start for either Hause or Konsa. As much as I want to see Marvelous don't think this is one for him to start, maybe come on for DL if we have the game won. Probably worth give Steer a place in the cup games too.

Come on its pre season against some pretty inferior teams, I think DS has got him in as a long term replacement for Elmo and because of the type of player he is, very much a heart on his sleeve gives everything for the team type by all accounts. Elmo is doing fine no reason at all to replace him with Guilbert yet. Don't get the fascination with getting Guilbert on, I think people are wrongly assuming he going to be constantly bombing forward and raining crosses into the box, just as a comparison he had 2 assists and scored 1 goal last season, Elmo had 8 assists and 2 goals.

As said purely a numbers game Dean Smith addressed this at one of the press conferences when asked about Guilbert, his bench will be a a GK, two defenders, two midfielders and two strikers. I can't see him starting in the PL until Elmo really messes up.

At the expense of El Ghazi I'd say yes definately. We've conceded 5 goals in 2 games and been poor from set pieces and corners. The defense needs help and we need a goal scoring option I think Conor brings both of those.

I think he needs to start next to Douglas Luiz in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Well I think that is what we have big strong and brings others into play, as long as it is a Leicester/Liverpool Heskey and not a Villa Heskey I will be happy.

He's not the same type of striker as Drogba, dare I say it but he'd be better off with Heskey coaching him same sort of player who will probably score a similar amount of goals.

What's the point of putting crosses in when we have no one on the end of them? We need to stop this fascination with crosses we are a very different team to last year and Wesley needs it at his feet with his back to goal not some floaty cross going nowhere!

Re-watched the game last night and other that the two obvious blunders that cost us we really weren't that bad Jack, SJM, Wesley and Taylor all had chances they really should have put away I think there needs to be some work on finishing at BMH this week! Saying that Bournemouth should have had a third when Fraser was one on one with Heaton and possible another penalty against Trez seen those given before. The two stand out weak links for me were Al Ghazi and Wesley. Al Ghazi just doesn't seem up to speed yet and Wesley just doesn't seem a player I know it's early still for him but he isn't filling me with confidence....yet! SJM was outstanding again but I think Trez and Elmo also had really good games. We are trying to put to many crosses in when there is no one there to get on them, this was really annoying. I'd like to see a change to the 4-3-3 system to a 4-2-3-1 to be more direct through the centre of the park with Al ghazi dropped and Conor/Marvelous coming alongside Douglas Luiz, with Wesley holding up the ball for Trez, Jack and SJM to bomb on to, it's the only way I can see us getting goals we need!

You say to early to be writing players off but also say 'Once Guilbert comes into the team' when Elmo has done nothing to deserve being replaced?

I'm liking this guy and I think as soon as he finds the back of the net his confidence will grow................can see him being our top scorer this season.

In all competitions maybe, can't see it happening in the PL alone......8-10 tops but would love to be proven wrong! Hopefully a few assists along the way though if we play to his strengths.

Have to disagree there I think Trez looks like a PL player and will continue to get a start.

Can't see him doing anything other than coming off the bench later on in games, looked OK in pre season and a decent squad player but not good enough to start in this team in the PL.

Watched Bournemouth v Sheff Utd the other night then Burnley v Southampton last night................both games reminded me just how amazing Villa Park is!

Yeah doesn't always work like that unfortunately, be nice if they were to buy him back as he'd improved and they want him for themselves but often it's purely to sell them on so they make the profit. Oh well is what it is.
