  1. 3 million sounds like an absolute steal. I can understand the concerns but for that fee, it really is worth gambling on him.
  2. I mean, its not advanced analytics here. The guy scored 21 goals in ligue 1 last season, the joint third highest in the league and is now 6 months off his contract expiring. Yeah he has been far from the best this season but its clear why clubs would be interested in him.
  3. Looking at his stats, a resounding nope. Quite poor this season and last. 3 goals and 2 assists in 40 games these 2 seasons. As to why he's being linked to all these teams despite that, I see he actually had a decent season in 19/20 which would've made him 20 years old at the time. This kind of form at that age would bring interest in from a lot of clubs but he doesn't seem to have progressed since. His contract also seems to be expiring next year which could also explain the links,
  4. How low cost are we talking here? Because if we’re buying him with practically the money we got for Ings, that sounds like a good trade off to me. I’d take that gamble.
  5. Dembele’s stats look good last season. Been utter shit this season though. Has barely played too. Anyone know what’s up with that?
  6. People should know by now to never take a manager’s word seriously. Its all just PR stuff.
  7. Decent fee. Was initially a bit upset about this but after thinking about it more, it shouldn’t be that big an issue for us provided we get someone new in. Deulofeu would be a good replacement even if he isn’t in the same mold. Or maybe we really rate Duran and he can already come in as our backup striker.
  8. He does a few games on the wing and as an attacking midfielder according to whoscord. But seems to be primarily a CM. honestly, if you look at Guendouzi’s positions played this season its quite similar.
  9. Yeah I don't like Ounahi's stats much. Would only be a sensible signing if we could get him on the cheap, like under 10 million. Otherwise, no point.
  10. I don’t think any of us knows anything about the chilean league but according to transfermarkt, the chilean league would be of similar value to league 1 in England. Osorio seems to be a winger. Has 7 goals in 27 games this season. Decent goal return per minute. No assists though, suggests his more of a goalscorer than assister. Overall I think his stats look alright for the league but don’t see anything that stands out. The most impressive thing right now is his level of development considering his age.
  11. Oh I agree on that. In fact I think he should be starting over Watkins as well. Just wanted to pushback against this idea that players should be expected to play well into their 30s when that's not supposed to be the norm.
  12. Uh, I heavily doubt Ings will still be playing in the prem and scoring goals for another 4 or 5 years. At least, it won’t be anything close to a good level. I know we can all think of counter examples but those are very much anomalies 32 years old is about the cut off point for a good pl striker. This season we only have Welbeck and Antonio at that age. Beyond that we have Vardy(36), Aubameyang(33), Ronaldo(37) before he left and Diego Costa(34). Most of these players only have 1 league goal scored the entire season so far and some of these guys were great in their prime to say the least. If Ings somehow breaks away from this pattern, it’ll be unexpected. We probably only have 1-2 years left of him where we can reliably expect him to maintains his former levels. After that who knows.
  13. Yeah that would be a gross overpay for Mckennie.
  14. Yeah I think he'll be sticking around for at least the end of the season. Get him used to the club and area for 6 months at least and if he establishes himself in the first team even better. We can always loan him out next season if we think its best for him
  15. Almiron for 21 million pounds is the biggest fee. Depending on how you count the add ons, he could be the second most expensive player to come from the mls.
  16. That Arsenal midfield at the time wasn’t exactly stacked with talent. It was Xhaka, Ceballos and Torreira and that’s it.
  17. Chukweze doesn’t seem like a regular starter for them either whilst Pino plays primarily on the right wing for them. He wouldn’t be competing with Danjuma regardless.
  18. I mean, I don't watch spanish football but its pretty obvious why he isn't a regular starter for them atm. 1 non-penalty goal and 0 assists in 10 games this season. And he's competing with Gerard Moreno who has 3 non-penalty goals and 2 assists in 9 games this season.
  19. Right now, Archer seems to be competing with a guy called matt crooks for the starting centre forward position. A player who has primarily played central midfield his entire career, that middlesbrough have decided to try up front very recently for some reason. Unfortunately for Archer, he’s been on form ever since with 2 goals and 2 assists in 3 championship games. The other main competitor I can see is Chuba Akpom, last month’s Championship player of the month. Only reason I think he isn’t playing centre forward for them is because they prefer him playing in attacking midfield but he can and has slotted in as a striker for them this season. My point is, his pathway to the first team there isn’t the clearest and he might need to wait a whole before he can consolidate that starting position for himself.
  20. Nope. Doubt any club is taking him on anything but a loan or a massively discounted fee. people will argue that he’s guaranteed goals and some club will be desperate enough to take him but he’s not really is he? If he were guaranteed goals, he would be starting for us over a watkins who hasn’t exactly been on fire this season and wouldn’t have half the fanbase wanting him gone.
  21. Not much stats coverage for the austrian league so hard to say. tentatively, looks like the lad can finish very well and is a goalscroer but lacks some other all round attributes. I wouldn’t be against going for him but there might be better deals out there.
  22. I’m glad we’re not going after danjuma. He’s had 1 non-penalty goal in 10 games this season. I wouldn’t risk it
  23. Not signing anyone over 29 doesn't mean he prefers only signing younger guys lol. That's an indication they don't prefer signing older guys at the end of their careers. I reckon most managers in the top flights rarely sign anyone over 29. Younger guys would be 24 or younger.
  24. Oh he played for 2 different clubs this season. That's why he wasn't showing up on some assist charts. By the way I believe the 14 number is more accurate. The discrepancy seems from this match. He gets 2 assists here that some sites forgot to count for some reason. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXcrwC6Wzhk
