  1. Martinez should never ever be giving the ball to Kamara there. He was surrounded by Leicester players the moment he received it. That said, Kamara had the opportunity to lay it off to I assume Moreno there and didn't. Bottom line massive **** up from both
  2. Uh, I could calculate the stat for that, it would just be a bit meaningless at least if I'm using fbref's stats. This is because they don't count dispossessions if the player lost the ball whilst he was trying to take on another player. But I can calculate the percentage of failed take-ons compared to the number of attempted take ons. Tried to get all the names in there, this is the best I can do. I'm only including the ones with minimum 30 attempted take-ons.
  3. 19 dispossessions to 206 touches in the PL since Unai took over. Leads to 9.22 disposessions per 100 touches. So its actually higher under Unai. Also keep this back on track with the thread, Traore's ratio is 2.22 disposessions per 100 touches for his entire time in the pl with us.
  4. You mean something like this? This measures on average the amount of times a player gets disposessed every 100 touches. In Bailey's case its 6.91 times. In this graph I'm only showing players who've been disposessed at least 30 times this season to try and fit all the data points on the chart so there's a lot more that I'm not showing. Regardless, its clear that Bailey is much closer to the top of the chart than the bottom. If we took all the data into account without any kind of filtering whatsoever, he'd be in the top 6 or 5th percentile of all players who stepped on the pitch this season.
  5. I wouldn't. Here's why. These are his dribbling stats. Look how far they've fallen since his peak levels. His legs are going. And on a separate point, his goal and assist numbers have never been that high. At least, not when you look at it in per minute terms. They just look better in the aggregate because of the sheer amount of minutes he's played for Palace over the seasons. For example, he's never scored or assisted at a rate much higher than Bailey has done for us this season. It looks even worse when you take the pens out of the equation. Only sensible a signing if we can get him on decent wages on short-term deal, but I don't see that happening. We'd need to break the bank a bit for him.
  6. I googled this journalist. The only fans who seem to even know who he is are Arsenal fans because he apparently reported the mesut ozil move to them before anyone else. Should be noted that that was a long time ago and they also have him in tier 4 right now.
  7. Just because we were willing to pay 65m for Merino doesn't mean we also willing to pay 65m for Guendouzi.
  8. We weren’t willing to pay the fee for Guendouzi. Seems pretty simple for me.
  9. Bailey is the only one who ranks particularly poor in this metric.
  10. Mate, he hasn’t played well in the pl in 1 and a half years by now. Hasn’t touched ligue 1 in 2 years. Its been 6 years since he last played in the eridivisie. I’m not saying they’re completely irrelevant, but what he’s done in Turkey is going to be very relevant to how good he is a player at the moment. Definitely a lot more than how he did in the eridivisie 6 years ago or even ligue 1. And I’m not even saying Bertie will be shit mind you. I’m just having doubts about how good he currently is as a player which I’m justified in having.
  11. if he were to pull that in the prem, I’d say that’s bang average of what you’d expect. The issue is that he did this in the turkish and conference league playing against much weaker opposition than the pl.
  12. Its not unreasonable to assume that, but its still an assumption. There's no actual evidence of that being the case so you can't just throw it out there to strengthen your argument. Not without further justification or clarifying that what you're saying is nothing more than an assumption. People do this all the time(not just Nick), where they'll bundle in shaky assumptions into their argument that get by because no one feels like its worth calling them individually out. He pushed it just a bit too far here.
  13. Lol at Nick getting called out here. He finally pushed it too far.
  14. I’ve been following his stats, and that’s the impression i get too. Slight concerns about his end product, his shooting in particular. He’s on something like 28 shots and 0 goals atm, with only a couple other players having a worse ratio in the championship.
  15. Watmkre hasn’t started a game for them since December. If Ramsey is a replacement for him, he’d be on the bench. if he’s getting into the team, he’d be replacing one of the wingers.
  16. I doubt he’ll end up playing much. We’re bringing him back because we barely have any attacking options on the bench and he’s probably a better option than Kadan Young
  17. I’d be fine if we got weghorst tbh. Most United fans were pretty happy with that signing and I doubt our standards are higher than them. At least, I hopes not.
  18. Personal preference and force of habit. The 365 days thing combines stats from different competitions, parts of different seasons and in cases like Gallaher even playing time at different clubs together and it all just feels a bit messy to me. It was even worse back in the day because it would also include international games. And for the percentiles, it compares players across all 5 top leagues and the european competition which is different to if its just comparing to players in the same league and season. I'm not comfortable interpreting them as much as if its just in a single season of a single competition. Being the 90th percentile in the league in a stat isn't the same as being the 90th percentile compared to players from all top 5 leagues and european competitions. Plus, some leagues generally just have higher stats in certain areas compared to other leagues so a ranking of players who are playing who are playing in different leagues can lead to misleading results. A player playing in ligue 1 is playing against different types and levels of opponents compared to a player playing in the premier league. They are straight up not even facing the same opponents whatsoever so ranking these players stats against each other doesn't seem right. I'd rather look at a players stats season by season or competition by competition. So in this case instead of looking at 365 days, I would look at his stats for the 22/23 season and the 21/22 season separately.
  19. Fbref too. See This is their stats in the league this season. The stat you're looking at is for the last 365 days and it includes the european competitions as well.
  20. I was looking at the league this season. Not in the past 365 days. Gallagher is on 0.22 this season whilst Buendia is on 0.15.
  21. He does have a higher xAG per 90 than anyone else in our squad. Could help with chance creation. Look at the goal Chelsea scored here for example. Quality cross and his crossing stats in general are quite exceptional for a midfielder. Edit: Here's another example of him putting in a quality cross in at the 7 minute mark.
  22. He’s scored a grand total of 2 goals across his loans in league 2 and the Scottish Championship. I don’t think he’s anywhere near our level even as a backup.
  23. Well ready or not if Watkins is out for some reason you better believe Duran is getting thrown out there. Not like we have anything else.
  24. No, I said the club had made a loss of 260 million. How much the owners have invested into the club is a different thing.
