  1. anyone see how he did in his 4 minute cameo?
  2. surprised he hasnt come on at 1-1 to do some smeshing.
  3. The true test of a player's ability is whether they can competently play at right back. - Steve Bruce (maybe).
  4. i remember when Davis broke in to the first team, he really looked special, i also remember after some of his performances he was attracting the attention of Manure. Whether he would have developed better and achieved a higher level if we had managed his development better, who knows, but we really did him dirty with the terrible way we managed his development. Obviously, his injuries didnt help over time, but we defo did him dirty in terms of his development. such a pity, but glad to see we are doing better now with developing our youth players.
  5. yeah, we need Kamara type players in the midfield 3, who can control possession and distribution with composure, allowing our "wing backs" and front 3 to do their thing. (if thats what you meant).
  6. so where do you expect us to finish this season?, considering we have the same coaching team in place (unless you include Smith in that).
  7. i know we have signed 5 players, 2 "new" first team starters, but with Carlos injured, thats now effectively only 1 new player added to the starting 11. I know Carlos looked good, and so does Kamara, but actually only having 1 new player in our starting 11 after a whole summer is actually not great. I think we probably needed 3-4 new starting 11 players if we were serious about pushing on, and with some of the signings other teams have made, im not even sure we are "standing still", we might even be going a little backwards, although 14th would be hard to do worse than on balance, so maybe we are roughly at the standing still position (mid table), when you consider what other teams around us are doing.
  8. Something that crossed my mind more than once, just imagine if we made some different choices in the transfer market over the last 3 years, ie: Didnt buy: Traore - 16m El Ghazi - 8m Trezeguet - 9m Jota - 4m Samatta - 9m Total - 46m Did buy: Raphinha - 16m Eze - 16m Bowen - 19m Total - 51m Add Buendia to that list, and we would have had some AM/forward four lol. (before anyone wets their pants, ye i know its hypothetical etc etc and its impossible to be right 100% of the time)
  9. how are Leeds and/or SHA doing these days?
  10. Watford have apparently rejected a 20m bid for Joao Pedro from Newcastle.
  11. McGinn's version of spread the play.
  12. Considering a move to us, i heard we made an enquiry.
  13. no, bang average, overrated because he's a Manure youth player, its like the Liverpool tax.
  14. i dunno mate, i dont think it would take much at all to harden Norwich up. They have okish central defenders for their level, if they play 4231 or 433, they only really need two more combative midfielders who can recycle the ball well, then let their attackers do their thing, of which their attackers should be tearing up the champ. I think the fact is, unfortunately, that Smith isnt doing a very good job, at all.
  15. I just dont get this logic. Smith took over a PL/Champ yo-yo team, with a squad that is really high quality for the Champ. Nobody realistically expected him to keep them up last season (even if that was their hope - anyone could see it was highly unlikely), i think the real expectation would be to have taken this very, very good squad (for championship level), add a couple of quality players, get automatic promotion and give the PL a reasonable shot next season. I think personally, that Norwich when Smith took over, was a great job for a manager, yes relegation was pretty nailed on, but Norwich have yo-yo'd for a few years now, they have plenty of cash in the bank, a bit of money to spend if needed, and a quality squad for the level they are at. If Smith cant get a tune out of that Norwich squad, then its entirely on him and his coaching staff, many, many managers would give their right arm to be given the chance to manage that squad in the champ.
  16. i think you forgot to put a decimal in that proposed sell value.
  17. ah didnt see that, yeah, its concerning for sure.
  18. so reading about a ruptured Achilles tendon, seems like 9 months out, so basically his season is done, even if he is back in 6-9 months, will take a while to get back to match fitness. I also found it interesting that apparently 1 in 3 of the people who recover from this type of injury, will not be able to play sport to the same level they did before, lets hope is is the 2/3 who can.
  19. Chambers is defo a ball playing defender. I suppose the question is whether he is good enough overall to be the no.1 RCM in Carlos' absence. tbf tho, Gerrard seems to prefer Konsa.
