  1. Well it looks like Purslow has had abit to say, it's nice to hear that the owners and the club are not expecting to get promoted this season. that they are now saying they are playing the long game, in the rite way which sounds as long as its going to take to get us back to where we are. https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aston-villa-purslow-leeds-united-15559780
  2. Apart from Tuanzebe, complete new back line in January.
  3. I think more than anything with Nyland, he likes to play a clean game, doesn't want to get at defenders by shouting and commanding that area. During the Albion game if Nyland had that aggression he would of gone into there handballing cheater, but he didn't and I think it's because he's as simply just to nice. I think he needs to get more aggression, more of what the championship requires, remember most teams who are playing us are fouling, cheating the system gits who have attitude and don't care how a game is won. Yeah I think if Nyland adds some aggression to his game, we may see a complete different keeper and he may start to command the defenders like your asking for, as well as rushing into incoming handballers.
  4. Omg that's two times in two games now he has fell over, does he have two left feet?? It's as bad as titus oniel on see who often falls over. The back line at villa is showing as really weak.
  5. Weve only just got Mcginn last season, dont think hes going anywhere yet if your saying another team will have him, the owners said no to grealish, they will do for Mcginn too. I think the owners and coaches will look at who doesn't fit and who is putting the time in, I think next will be a clear out of players not doing enough on field, sèms like the owners have been sorting out villa from the top down. Shame we didn't win, but hopefully in january our new players will provide a massive boost, but Mcginn will stay put for some seasons I bet. McGinn an exciting player and he enjoys it at villa, his comments on why he chose us over Celtic only reassure where he wants to be rite now. Same will happen with what happened with grealish, ownwrs will stamp a big price on him, to big that no premiere league will come in for him while he's playing in the championship. Think for time being Mcginn will be playing in the premiere but with Villa only.
  6. I agree with your first paragraph down to the ground but not your second, I think Nyland will come good for us, don't think he's a waste of money. If our defence was better and like you say had a dominant defender then tbe opposition shouldn't be getting shots off like that. While we're scoring goals it's a well known fact bruce left us in the crapper with defenders, something Smith really will sort out in January. I didn't see the game yesterday so cant comment on any players playing in yesterday game. Previous games have shown the only defenders we can rely on areTuanzebe and Hutton an even they're making silly mistakes at times. I think it's starting to speak for itself that we truly need a new back line, as the season is half done it's to late too do that but we need to do something because it's in doing our hard work in midfield and up front.
  7. You know he's not the first to have a drink or few before a game, Paul McGrath well known for it lol. Don't see why a player should be sent to hell for eternity for past mistakes, if they're willing to change and prove they can comeback, then why should it be held against them if they're going to try. I didn't just blame bruce and no doubt Ross has his fair share of blame, but you can't deny that we've been that poorly managed that we've looked at players as waste of spaces. We brought them here and they were doing good where we got them from yet failed at our club, I don't think it's just the players who have done it to themselves. Managers weve had have had there favourites, gone and spent crazy amounts on new players and existing talent has suffered, not trained them one bit and done what needs to be done with. I'd say the blame lies with previous managers more than it be the players fault. It's a managers job to keep and make sure your work force is in tip top shape, that they arnt going off the rales, doing silly crap, a manager is sposed to do more than just pick a team and tell them to go out there and win and for a good while none of the above and more was happening which is why were where we are today because of it. Poor ownership/Poor management is the result of our demise until Nas and Wes came in.
  8. Why did you let the cat out the bag, there's always one party pooper
  9. I just came across it now strolling through aston villa news. Could be a good signing if he's fast like reported, even better with Tuanzebe who is also fast, Smith's style requires speed alongside accurate, continuous, one touch, passing, a few of our players struggle with it. If Smith does raid brentford he obviously thinks there's some talent there that could pull his style off better than what some of ours have been playing, so raid away.
  10. It's very strange indeed, why on earth would anyone reply to there own comments?? That person would have gone crazy, talking to themselves lol
  11. Id like someone who could come in defence and command the entire area properly, who know how to organise our defence and can work well under pressure with long balls into our box and crosses being properly dealt with. The game against Albion, our defence at times looked poor, our player at one point were just standing there while the ball bounced that many times, before it was booted away. Dont know why our players are so reluctant to just go deal with that baĺĺ.
  12. I thought he had, read it it in media that hed been playing next too Bolt.
  13. What do you all make of the Dave Kitson claim then?? Dave kitson, former stoke player stating that Tony Pulls deliberately winds his players up so they cause fouls and hopefully injure players, this if true is dirty and disgusting. Now it would make perfect sense that so many teams out there are gunning for us and Jack Grealish on the pitch and makes alot more sense as to why he's the most fouled player and most likely not just in the championship I am curious if he is in the world this season. This is one of there own former players coming out and saying this and this could start to unravel more story's like this I hope it does because then maybe the referees will start to get tough on fouls early on and the entirety of the game. It's because of lousy officiating that managers are saying go out there and put players out of action, that fact in some situations reds should have been shown yet not even a yellow card was given sends a message to managers why not play dirty on the pitch. Its about time the efl got onto there officials and told them the job your doing isn't good enough, start showing cards when they are required and stop managers from sending players out and hurting players who do just want to play decent good football.
  14. In a way your rite, yes it's more attractive to players and an easier choice to make if a team is interested in you and they are in a playoff or automatic spot. You also have to look at how other teams are playing and if there's spots open for a player to break straight into without much of a challenge from existing players at the club.If theres a good chance your going to be put straight in the first team by a team thats in top 10(providing the gap isnt too big, like at the moment), then id say that is as much enticing. Look where we were when we had Mcginn, yet he chose us over Celtic and we were not playing good really, I think we have as much chance now under Dean Smith to sign anyone over our rivals and it's not just because of our position, I think playerprogression is sticking out alot now. It really is showing what Dean Smith has done compared to what Bruce did, everyone knows what brilliant work he's doing and how our players under bruce looked very bad, then under Smith we couldn't even recognise them. So yeah I think there will be very good players out there that would just as much choose us over Leeds, Albion, Norwich , because weare this season looking like the most dangerous team out there, the stats speak for it. Despite the fact we have gaps need filling, possible keeper, defenders, midfielder, even a striker other than Tammy, there is a good chance that a player choosing villa will not only jump straightinto the team but again that player progression is going to do wonders for there career. It's a well known fact as well that our loaners have done very good, Tuanzebe, Bolasie, ghazi and Tammy, cant complain, the only few others i think a new players coming in who wouldnt squeeze past would be Grealish, Mcginn, Hutton, Elmo and Adomah, I think the rest of our players would be benched. Like if a new keeper is brought in, then Nyland is going lose his place, same if new defenders are brought in, I think Chesters and Taylors positions would be under threat, likewise with Kodjia if a new striker brought in. Will have to wait and see, I will say this I'm looking forward to seeing what Dean Smith does this January.
  15. I feel with Jack out it's important for us to find another player on Jacks and Mcginns level, they will handle the premiere if we do go up but think a few of our midfielders will have to go. Yeah I do feel another player or two of Jacks calibre in midfield would seal the deal to the premiere, obviously along with a new keeper and couple of defenders. If we by any chance have another spot to bring someone in after all that then I'd bring a new striker in to partner Tammy. I feel kodjia is letting us down and Hogan has alot to prove in such a short time that we have to get us into the premiere, we need someone who's firing goals in.
  16. I'm not the kind of supporter that will boo him because he's showed in the past he's a waste of the money spent on him. I see it as he may of been poorly managed, Lord knows we've had so many bad managers and owners, hopefully bruce is the very last. I think if anything it would show if Ross came back and made a big come back it would show big time how poorly managed our players worth. If Smith can makes something of Ross then I'm all for it if he can help the team to promotion. Ross seems to of been looking abit more positive as of late playing next to Bolt. So maybe theres a chance and if i were him id do what i could to turn this around and try make a comeback at Villa. Good luck to Ross if Smith gives him a chance, it shows great leadership from Smith to do that as many managers wouldn't all because he had a bad run under Bruce and those before. In fact I would love Ross to do it, it would seriously show how bad we was poorly run and how little worth some managers out there seen certain players who do not become there chosen ones.
  17. Wont wear proper ones will he though, says it restricts his movements so much. Refs keep warning him. Whats this Jack's first injury for him this season, not doing to bad for a player fouled nearly 100 times..

    K-Mac

Well yeah that's the thing isnt it, now this has come out against Kev, will this be a very long road in a big pile of crap on many in charge who didn't stand for crap against players and gave em what for in the dressing room. It's the whole teacher and punishment thing again isn't it,just now in football. I got hit with a metal ruler on back of my hand in secondary school by woodwork teacher, yet what went down back then to what can now is totally different and isn't accepted. I don't agree with abuse, but agree with authority to an extent, what players maybe saying is bullying may not be the way others see it. There are those out there that see shouting, punishment, swearing, insults as abuse or bullying, yet other people will shrug it off and get on with what's in front of them and not listen to it one bit Where one player let's say found K Mac a bully, the other player may see it as that's the way he teaches and I must learn to do as I'm told, learn from my mistakes and progress. some people when authority is pushed against them move themselves into that very position even more by also opening there mouths back, for all we know the player accusing of the bullying may of been a complete butt wipe at the time. There's alot to deal with when a matter of this arises, can't just take the accusers word for it, have to be objective about it all and put feelings aside. If I did to my son what my mum and elder sister and her bloke used to do to me with the physical abuse, then in this day and age I'd be put away for it a d ritely so. I don't blame me mum though I was a handful and a naughty git, in a way it taught me rite from wrong even though the level of abuse was really bad. With my sister and her now ex bloke, i didnt deserve that at all. While my mum was working they was sposed to be looking after me, that was a whole new level with it being mental and physical. I think it all made me the person i am today to be honest and in a way i can understand what Gareth farelly thought and that he may of been put through an ordeal he felt he was having difficulty dealing with. For K Mac though he himself may of been passing his teachings on, and it's one of them where we can't really judge the man as the only people who had experience with it was the people in that situation at the time. Court will no doubt get a feel for what Gareth went through, ask him maybe to do an instance of how K Mac went off from his words, tone, aggression and expressions, then K Mac will have a chance to defend that as its his rite too. So much going on, none of us can judge K Mac yet though untill everything has come out.
  19. Bruce is a sabotaging git, no one who has been in the game that long would make what look to be the most outrageous of football mistakes all from not bringing in enough defenders to playing players in wrong positions. For me Bruce gets the crazy award this season. One mite even go as far to suggest bruce was clearly off his head when he made the moves he did or had just come out of a padded room.
  20. he looks 6ft 4" to possibly 6ft 5".
  21. Really enjoy his interviews, doesn't mess about, gets rite down to it, speaks the truth and a firm believer in what he's doing. I would actually fear for society if Dean Smith was a cultist, he would have everyone believing lol. Dean Smith for priminister
  22. Makes you want to give Tammy a hug after this video. He wants the golden boot. Didn't realise how tall Tammy Is..
  23. Smith has said bree is back on his interview, sure he did.
  24. I agree it's always worth it to find out while we can't get rid fully, maybe he can make his last bit of time at villa worth it somehow. Sure Smith can work some magic with the guy, if Grealish is out have him work as midfielder see if he can convert into how grealish plays. He has potential. I think under bruce that potential got wasted, look at our players who are playing well under Smith and how they were under bruce..
