  1. I dont get this next big young player from our youth team. To be brutally honest our youth team must be pretty shit and hasnt produced anything of quality besides Grealish and Cahill. Cahill improved I upside of our club so we can't take much credit for it. Leeds United had 2 or 3 players aged 18 and Jack Clarke looks class. Even Norwich playing there youth players and there being banded about as 20m signings by either Arsenal or Spurs. If we don't have a better youth players with more energy than Whelan we need close our academy. Save some £££
  2. Good old Tammy. Waited for the Hause deal to be confirmed before dropping out of the Wolves move.....kid knew what he was doing.
  3. ITSOTP. I am not 100% privvy on this and someone could give a more accurate response but FWIW I think its In The shirt On The Page
  4. We need some more young blood, no coincidence that our better players are the youngsters. Tammy 21 Tuanzebe 21 McGinn 24 Grealish 23
  5. Sorry all I was away for the festive period in Australia and had time with family instead of updating this! The 4 games over Christmas hasn't been kind to us with a L W D D. Hopefully 2019 will give us a 20 win run! After the QPR game Aston Villa have 38 points out of a possible 78. The final projected points total will currently be 67 points that is points after 46 games. Basing this off last seasons final table will put us 11th. There is still 60 points to play for giving us a maximum potential points haul of 98 points. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Since the appointment of Dean Smith the new projected points total would be 71 points that is points after 46 games. That has included (Before Smith) of 1.25 PPG from Steve Bruce and the current 1.64PPG from Smith. Using 1.64PPG over the remaining 20 games. Basing this off last seasons final table will put us 9th. Thought for the day: If games were decided by teams that scored the first goal, Villa would be top of the league with an 11 point gap.
  6. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=271f64qb0WU&feature=onebox This is the game of the world cup where he was the keeper.
  7. I would be very happy with Kalinic as our keeper. Being Croatian-English I have seen enough of his games. He is a strong keeper and would be a beast for us in goal. His only negative would be he holds onto the ball for far too long which stops any sort of counter attacks for club and country.
  8. Yes. Vote for McGinn its 32% each for Neves and him.
  9. No Kyle Walker signed a 1 month contract with QPR which was then extended to a 3 month loan. Villa got him on a 6 month loan after he returned back to Spurs.
  10. Below is a table for the next 6 games for the top 6 teams plus our next six games, it also includes home or away fixture and currently league position. Purely information purposes but teams in the top 6 will be playing each other often over the next 6 games and we should hopefully be able to take advantage of this. Blackburn appears a lot over the next 4 games, there run while not directly impacting us is worth noting. They play Norwich (2nd), Leeds (1st), Sheff Utd (5th) and West Brom (3rd) as their next 4 games. Leeds AV (A) 8th Blackburn (H) 12th Hull (H) 17th Notts Forest (A) 7th Derby (H) 4th Stoke (A) 11th Norwich Blackburn (A) 12th Notts Forest (H) 7th Derby (H) 4th Brentford (A) 19th West Brom (A) 3rd Birmingham (H) 10th West Brom Rotherham (A) 20th Wigan (H) 16th Sheff Wed (H) 18th Blackburn (A) 12th Norwich (H) 2nd Bolton (A) 23rd Derby Bristol C (H) 14th Sheffield Utd (A) 5th Norwich (A) 2nd Middlesbrough (H) 6th Leeds (A) 1st Reading (H) 21st Sheff Utd Ipswich (A) 24th Derby (H) 4th Blackburn (H) 12th Wigan (A) 16th QPR (H) 13th Swansea (A) 9th Middlesbrough Reading (A) 21st Sheff Wed (H) 18th Ipswich (H) 24th Derby (A) 4th Birmingham (A) 10th Millwall (H) 22nd Aston Villa Leeds (H) 1st Swansea (A) 9th Preston (A) 15th QPR (H) 13th Wigan (A) 16th Hull (H) 17th
  11. After the Stoke game Aston Villa have 33 points out of a possible 66. The final projected points total will currently be 69 points that is points after 46 games. Basing this off last seasons final table will put us 9th. There is still 72 points to play for giving us a maximum potential points haul of 105 points. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Since the appointment of Dean Smith the new projected points total would be 76 points that is points after 46 games. That has included (Before Smith) of 1.25 PPG from Steve Bruce and the current 1.8PPG from Smith. Using 1.8PPG over the remaining 24 games. Basing this off last seasons final table will put us 5th.
  12. Not entirely true. We have conceded only 2 in the last 2 games and scored 5. You wont find a Villa fan who would disagree with your assessment of our back line though. Your not going find any argument against it here.
  13. Absolutly sums up Villa at the moment. Perfect from Dean Smif, wouldnt expect him to say anything less. Everyone kicks a pup or kitten, not Villa these trendsetters prefer to kick a wasp.
  14. Come on now lads, its nice to have opinions of different clubs. He hasn't insulted anyone in particular or the club. He is more than welcome to air his opinions. Also this opinion was shared with Steve Bruce, Tony Xia, Roberto Di Matteo et al and it didnt get us as a club very far and its nice to have the modern day modesty to our club. The past is nice to have but the future is brighter.
  15. Very true, but on the flip side would Grabban/A.N Other Striker have put 4 past Forest as he did. Hes young and the best is yet to come from the boy and his performance ceiling hasnt been reached yet.....hopefully we will all get to see it way before the season ends.
  16. To be fair, were not even half way through so every team still has every team to play against. I understand what your saying, but you have said that your top 8 fixtures are mainly at home and then later that Leeds prefer to play away as teams are expected to attack. Taking this into perspective you have tough games coming up against the top 8 at Elland Road. Where as Villa are at home but Villa Park is becoming our fortress. This team feels like we can play anyone at Villa Park now. Its going be any interesting conclusion to the season and there are going to be many twists and turns to come yet, for both of our teams. Either way Villa fans are liking football again which is the most important thing!
  17. Its alright, I feel sorry for Stoke. Hat trick incoming at Villa Park.
  18. After the West Brom game Aston Villa have 32 points out of a possible 63. The final projected points total will currently be 70 points that is points after 46 games. Basing this off last seasons final table will put us 9th. There is still 75 points to play for giving us a maximum potential points haul of 107 points. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Since the appointment of Dean Smith the new projected points total would be 76 points that is points after 46 games. That has included (Before Smith) of 1.25 PPG from Steve Bruce and the current 1.77PPG from Smith. Using 1.77PPG over the remaining 25 games. Basing this off last seasons final table will put us 5th. Thought of the day - While were still transforming into Dean Smiths team, when this clicks, some team will get destroyed.
  19. In fairness instead of looking at Nyland at 1:23 looking at the Birmingham player holding onto him. Seen more clearly in the first replay of the goal. I am not a particular fan of Nyland but that goal shouldn't have stood and he has made worse gafs than in that clip. Personally Nyland wasn't at fault for that goal.

SGC I value your opinion on the youth team as I am aware your the 'expert' on this topic and at least see the u23 games. When I was younger, a kid was generally a teenager and much more recently media outlets throw a tag of 'wonderkid' on to even 24 year old's. Is there anyone in the Villa Academy at a much younger age like maybe 18 who could be close to ready? I just feel by now if 20 years old's were good enough they would be slotted into the first team. For purely comparison purposes for age v talent and not suggesting this is the norm. Christian Pulisic has just turned 20 and is very good, Mbappe is 19, Sancho is 18, Donnarumma is 19, Matthijs de Ligt is 19, Justin Kluivert is 19 and a plethora of Liverpool's young players. Are any of our young players ready or will they be pushed even further down the pecking order by players we will purchase just because they aren't good enough and may never be.
  21. For real? An absolute massive downgrade on Tammy. Oceans seperate. Davis did well when he came in last season for a few games. Tammy has now played over 100 games in the last 3 seasons. We talk of signing Tammy for £30-40 million. Davis value would be closer to £3-4 million. Thats the difference.
  22. After the Middlesbrough game Aston Villa have 31 points out of a possible 60. The final projected points total will currently be 71 points that is points after 46 games. Basing this off last seasons final table will put us 9th. There is still 78 points to play for giving us a maximum potential points haul of 109 points. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Since the appointment of Dean Smith the new projected points total would be 83 points that is points after 46 games. That has included (Before Smith) of 1.25 PPG from Steve Bruce and the current 2 PPG from the Saviour (After Smith). Using 2 PPG over the remaining 26 games. Basing this off last seasons final table will put us 4th. Thought of the day - If we win the remaining 26 games, we win the league.
  23. Let just get the chequebook out in January and get him. Put it down as an investment rather than player purchase to get around FFP?
  24. Thats alot of negatives for Chester. What would his style of play be, if not to be the captain and be the 'operator' or even win the ball. This sounds like I am being overly critical of Chester, I actually like him as a player when he was in form but that seemed to only be when he was partnered next to Terry and since its been a downwards trajectory. How much of that was Terry making him look good!?
