  1. Are these exceptions? Rather than the rule? The list that didn't set the world alight would be much larger.
  2. Actually 1.857 PPG but still not bad.
  3. Its all down to his reflexes I guess. He was expecting the shot to go across the goal instead of the near post. He throws his left leg out but it is pretty much 0.5 seconds to late and the rest is history. In the grand scheme of things half a second is a massive delay for a goalkeeper. Cat like he is not, its not his fault, its the speed between his brain and reflex muscles not working quick enough. Sadly it will never be there for him.....also see Lolleys goal he just didnt move. Think the doctor hitting his knee with the hammer and his kick out would be well delayed.......sorry funny image in my head for him.
  4. Its ok gilbertoAVFC, dont worry. He would probably miss it anyway.
  5. Wait a minute.....so Nyland was actually on the pitch? It's just I saw goals go in with no one trying to stop them....
  6. Begrudgingly this is right. I loved Chester and he has had some good games for us, but at the moment hes as much a liability as Nyland for letting teams just waltz through.
  7. We could be helped out with the Tammy signing by the new Premier League loan rule coming into force in 19/20 which I remember reading a couple of months ago about clubs can only send out either 5 or 10 players on loan per season. (Cant remember if it was 5 or 10) This season Chelsea have 40 players out on loan and it is to stop clubs from collecting players and sending out on loan "in case" they come good. Tammy is brilliant for us, he wont be brilliant for Chelsea and a club like Chelsea would need a bigger name to appease there fans. Giroud and Morata arent good enough for Chelsea on current form or the recent previous form.
  8. After the Nottingham Forest game Aston Villa have 28 points out of a possible 57. The final projected points total will currently be 68 points that is points after 46 games. Basing this off last seasons final table will put us 11th. There is still 81 points to play for giving us a maximum potential points haul of 109 points. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Since the appointment of Dean Smith the new projected points total would be 78 points that is points after 46 games. That has included (Before Smith) of 1.25 PPG from Steve Bruce and the current 2 PPG from the Saviour (After Smith). Using 1.85PPG over the remaining 27 games. Basing this off last seasons final table will put us 5th.
  9. You would absolutely be right, "if" I did this for every team it would just show the current league table. However, I aren't doing it for all teams and using last seasons final table to a estimated finishing position. With every win, lose or draw it will change the projected total points accrued and essentially makes a moving target.
  10. It sounds alot.....10 more wins to get us to 2PPG. We would reach this milestone if we continue to win every game from now at Played 27 with 54 Points. Currently only Norwich are on 2PPG and its highly likely this season that you will get top 2 with a much lower PPG maybe even 1.75.
  11. After the Birmingham game Aston Villa have 27 points out of a possible 54. The final projected points total will currently be 69 points that is points after 46 games. Basing this off last seasons final table will put us 9th. There is still 84 points to play for giving us a maximum potential points haul of 111 points. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Since the appointment of Dean Smith the new projected points total would be 83 points that is points after 46 games. That has included (Before Smith) of 1.25 PPG from Steve Bruce and the current 2 PPG from the Saviour (After Smith). Using 2PPG over the remaining 28 games. Basing this off last seasons final table will put us 4th. (83 points is the total points from the 17/18 season under Bruce)
  12. It all really depends on how much the other team need him. Krzysztof Piatek was purchased for 3 million and is being linked with January moves for 30 million cause of his goal scoring record for Genoa.
  13. I tried to add an algorithm to project a points total using Dean Smiths limited results as the data. It finished with us on 90 points and 1st spot. To be fair, its complete rubbish at the moment as the data is too limited and I can't add SB's results as while they are concrete it just cannot be used as him and his team are no longer here! Either way the result was 90 points, get the beers ready!
  14. As requested: After the Derby game Aston Villa have 24 points out of a possible 51. The final projected points total will currently be 65 points that is points after 46 games. Basing this off last seasons final table will put us 12th. There is still 87 points to play for giving us a maximum potential points haul of 111 points. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Since the appointment of Dean Smith the new projected points total would be 76 points that is points after 46 games. That has included (BS or Before Smith/Bullshit era) of 1.25 PPG from Steve Bruce and the current 1.8 PPG from the Saviour (AS or After Saviour era). Using 1.8PPG over the remaining 29 games. Basing this off last seasons final table will put us 5th.
  15. After the Derby game Aston Villa have 24 points out of a possible 51. The final projected points total will currently be 65 points that is points after 46 games. Basing this off last seasons final table will put us 12th. There is still 87 points to play for giving us a maximum potential points haul of 111 points.
  16. Thank you. The Charlie statement confused me as I had 2 Labradors called Charlie and Merson and it took me a while for the Charlie connection...its been a long Morning!
  17. After the Bolton game Aston Villa have 21 points out of a possible 48. The final projected points total will currently be 60 points that is points after 46 games. Basing this off last seasons final table will put us between 12th and 14th. There is still 90 points to play for giving us a maximum potential points haul of 111 points. I take no credit for the above, a previous poster that I cannot remember used to do this a few years ago and I enjoyed seeing the update after each. I will continue to do this after each game for the foreseeable.
  18. I noticed you conveniently forgot that actually his last 6 games included 3 wins. I am no fan of Bruce and he has been so bad, we dont need to add false statements to back it up. Last 6 games are below; August 19th Home - Norwich 4-2 August 22nd Home - Wigan 4-1 August 25th Away - Bristol C 1-1 September 9th Home - Brentford 0-0 Septemeber 12th Home - Middlesborough 0-0 September 16th - Away - Barnsley 0-3 Obviously last nights result added an additional loss. Bruce's team plays poor football but his last 6 games are now 2 wins 3 draws and 1 loss. Not acceptable for us!
  19. Even if he loses one more game, it isnt quite as bad as RDM, he would need to lose his next 3 games in a row to match RDM. Just saying. I am not Bruce's biggest lover but even I can see that his next 3 games are all very winnable. Playing two of the teams that are south of the table. As a fan of Villa and not as a fan of Bruce he needs to be given an extra month to see how things turn out. Removal of a manager at this stage of the season isnt going to be great and we dont want to look the blouse do we!?
  20. I've supported Bruce as much as anyone. But the question I've bolded is nonsense, if you're implying the players aren't good enough. We have the best squad in the league. If not the best then it's right up there at the top end. We have players who created shit loads at previous clubs. The players ARE good enough. I believed the manager was good enough and this season would see us challenging. Saturday has sucked that optimism out of me. If this team isn't competing at the top end of the table then it's the manager's fault. Im not sure of the players, has the teams where we have signed their star players had a negative impact on them? Other than Brentford's loss of Kodjia, I dont think any of the other sides have become any worse off after losing their apparent stars. Fulham lost McCormack and have gone up the league, Nottingham Forest lost Lansbury but the position of Forest didnt really change and the same can be said for Barnsley after losing Bree and Hourihane. If they are such star players surely it would impact on their teams performance? I wasnt stating that the players we have signed are not good enough, it was a question asking if SB is holding players back or are they not as good as we thought. Either way I hope Villa turn some corner and start pulling up trees with the stars we have signed.
  21. Villa fans, Villa fans...what are we trying to do to ourselves! It seems like we actually want him to fail, our club is becoming a role similar to the England job. A poision chalice. Whoever takes over we will complain about. We are 2 games into the league and I do believe we have boo'd now in both the games!? Any self respecting manager is going to dodge VP like a bullet. We can break many managers and turn their careers into tiny specks in the history books. We need to face it our team is just bang average and when we aren't creating any chances were not going to win games. Is Steve Bruce holding players back or are the players simply not good enough to create? Booing the players isnt going to add any impetus to the team but certainly will create a dark cloud over Villa Park. I dont like Newcastle United but by god do they support their team and manager, even in the bad times!

    Intro

Hi all, I have been a Villa supporter for over 30 years and usually make 10-15 games per season as I have since left Birmingham to move to sunny Stoke on Trent. I have constantly read this forum for the last few months and now its time to integrate with one and all. Its been an interesting read so far with a slightly negative outlook from many. I am a more half full kind of person and hoepfully it should spread to the others!
