  2. @RobDorsettSky Understand Dr Xia is looking for inward investment and is prepared to sell #avfc for right price. Talks with HMRC ongoing. Administration a real concern - mainly cash flow problems in China. Insiders fear fire sale of best players. Poss biggest crisis in club’s history.

Bidding 35 million for Joao Concelo, from Valencia. On loan at Milan last year. Blimey

  5. The doc has made some questionable decisions agreed, but he has invested a hell of a lot of money into the club. More than enough to have seen us promoted under a decent manager - ultimately he has trusted the wrong people. Bruce and Wyness are the ones to point the finger at more than Xia imo. He gave them the funds, he let them get on with it. Between them, they have both failed. Wyness's short term vision and Bruce's dinosaur tactics have set us back years I'm afraid.
  6. Wolves being linked to Rui Patricio, sporting keeper. Fredericks to West Ham Rooney off to the MLS
  7. Dean Smith, Chris Wilder in terms of this division. Or even look abroad, surely we can get someone of a decent calibre who can build this club up? You cannot tell me that there is nobody out there who can do a better job than Steve Bruce. Why can we not unearth our own Wagner, Nuno or Jokanovic... why do we have to go down the dull drab safe route? Let's show some **** balls and actually put a long term plan in place and appoint a head coach who fits in.
  8. How, just how can anyone in their right mind defend this manager? He's had a huge budget, one of the most expensive squads in championship history, a preseason, 4 transfer windows and he has failed to get us promoted. 'we were a game away from the pl' bla bla bla. With what he had we should have been automatically promoted given the resources we had. I think some of us are in such a state about our club that we're accepting 2nd best. NO, we are Aston Villa football club. This manager is small time, the way he spoke you'd think it was an achievement that we reached the playoffs. He's potentially scuppered our best chance to go up and also our future financially. Those blaming the players - nonsense. The manager is responsible, this is on Bruce with his safety first tactics. Keeping him on next year would be such a lack of ambition and would show up the board as being small time. We need someone else to come in to work with a new squad and small budget
  9. I fail to see a single reason to keep Bruce now. The whole point of appointing him in the first place was that he was supposed to be the short term fix who'd get us promoted. Well, he's not only failed at that, but he's blown the majority of our parachute payments in the process, potentially leaving the club in trouble financially going forward. On that basis alone, why on earth should he stay? We need to look for a young up coming manager who has a philosophy and can implement it bringing in young players and loans, as well as utilising the talent we have in the u23s. Bruce simply cannot do this, he is a chequebook manager. We need to be brave now, I'm sick of the stability bullshit argument for keeping him on. It's a buzz word for mediocrity. We need a fresh approach, particularly as the budget will be tiny next year.
  10. Cant afford to panic. Stay in the game as long as possible we can still do this. Albeit its not looking good at the moment.
  11. Yeah, you're really better than Wolves aren't you. That's why they finished 1st and you finished 3rd.. Onto the game, experience will count for a lot. Can't wait for the London media to crawl back into their shells and do one when you **** it up. Jokanovic's comments will make Saturday even sweeter UTV.
  12. As said previously I really think we'll do it. Our big game players will make the difference when the pressure's on, even if we are on the back foot for long spells. **** nervous, excited, everything. Can't believe it's only Tuesday ?
  13. Job done, we're going to pull this off. I can feel it
  14. Not pretty but job half done. Never felt Boro were going to score tbh

    Wolves

Seen their celebrations, fans out in numbers and open top bus parade plastered all over twitter today. Slightly envious I must admit (kills me to say that, we're AVFC ffs)
  16. Congratulations to the dingles on their promotion. Brentford toying with us slim hopes but slim is better than nothing. Although mentally I am prepared for the playoff lottery.
  17. Total domination first half, absolutely shit 2nd half. Negative, boring and sat back. Ffs we were so in control, didn't need to sit back do much. Against a shocking Leeds side, go for the kill and get more goals. Sums up why this manager cannot stay beyond the summer regardless if we go up or not.
  18. MikeAVFC

    Wolves

That kid will surely leave the dingles for stupid money in the summer, particularly if he does well at the world cup. **** me that was a world class goal. If not this summer he won't be at Wolves longer than 12 months. Destined for a one of the top clubs in Europe
  19. Huge win but Grealish bails him out again. Still not much evidence of tactics other than lump it long and hope for some individual brilliance.
  20. First half we were absolutely appalling, could've easily conceded a few. Second half we stepped it up and had a go. What a goal, deserving of winning any game. Super **** Jack. Need to keep this momentum going into the playoffs now, there can't be any let up. Much needed win psychologically for the team.
  21. I absolutely do care, I never want to lose a game for a start. Plus I'd rather be playing this lot in the playoffs than a Fulham side who'd totally make idiots of us at Wembley if we were to get there. Can see a draw from this in all honesty though. Cardiff will be on such a low after the way Friday's game with Wolves finished, but I doubt we're good enough to take advantage of that. Can see a 0-0 or 1-1.
