  1. Surely we'll improve this half, first half was dreadful

    Wolves

Oh god yeah I know nothing's won in October and things can change, but they do look good at the moment.
  3. This is a game where Bruce really can afford to let them off the leash and let them attack. This lot are there for the taking, derby game or not. We all know he won't though

Really??? I think he's wasted a lot of money. It's certainly not a good enough squad for the top 2, despite spending millions and millions of pounds. Spending the amount we have, we shouldn't have assembled a squad to simply scrape the playoffs. What relevance is the weather and time of year? Sorry, cliched bollocks that is. You sound like Bruce.

    Wolves

The point is he should have been building a squad to achieve automatic promotion, like Wolves have done. Not build a squad to barely resemble any football and scrape into the playoffs. Not good enough

Yes, but why haven't we been shopping abroad for top talent? Sums up Bruce/the club's dinosaur transfer policy when all we ever do is sign old heads and 'proven championship players', is more my point. Obviously the Mendes connection helps, but like where's our scouting network, what do they do?

So has Bruce, and he's done the grand total of **** all in terms of style 12 months. Nuno has been at Wolves two minutes. Therein lies the difference

Agree with this. I went with a Wolves mate last night who had a spare ticket, and they were terrific have to say. Didn't just park the bus either, they had a good, organised shape but also attacked when they could and had 4 guilt edged chances to score and took the game to Man City. As you say, they've pulled off a good one with Nuno. Tactically he's very good and you can tell he's managed big clubs before.
  9. These are **** shit. Should be a comfortable win if we turn up
  10. Just pleased we bounced back from last week to win. Organised performance
  11. I doubt we'll see 442 for a while now. I imagine he'll sacrifice Davies and go with Onomah in a mf 3 with Whelan and Hourihane. Interesting to see how we react after last week's no show. I can see a 1-1 or narrow 1-0 win with us clinging on for dear life at the end and Bruce insisting it was a resiliant performance and we 'dust waaaselvz down n go again'.
  12. It's a really difficult situation really. In the 12 months he's been here we've clearly made minimal progress, although we're still within touching distance of the playoffs. But after 12 months, god knows how many millions spent surely we should have been challenging for automatic promotion no? Reality is I think Bruce has wasted a lot of money, and we're not as good as we think we are. The recruitment has been pretty poor Kodjia aside, there appears to be zero planning behind signings, ie Hourihane, who was creating assists left right and centre for Barnsley, in no way suited to a 2 man midfield or a holding player - needs to play further forward. So why do we bypass the midfield with a creative midfielder there? Why not play to his strengths? Likewise Hogan, who is suited to a team playing to feet. What do we do? We lump it to him. Bruce has clearly had zero strategy when recruiting these players - we don't play to their strengths. The likes of Whelan, Lansbury, Mccormack, complete waste of money. Our recruitment strategy seriously needs looking at. The reality is it's a gamble either way sacking Bruce - I really don't know anymore. Utimately it's his squad so we're probably stuck with him now unless we go on a disastrous run. As long as we're in touch with 6th place then he'll stay. But I can't stand the style of football - it's atrocious.
  13. Only one team wanted to play football and they deserved to win. Beaten by a far superior team from 1 to 11. As disappointing as we were I was surprised at how potent and pacey they are. Easily a cut above anything else we'll play this season imo
  14. If we go gung ho then I agree, they'll rip us apart because they've got the legs on us and our defence isn't the quickest. However if we stay compact, have a good shape and play on the counter I can see us having a lot of joy. Also reading the Wolves forums this week it seems they're poor at defending from set pieces and crosses, and with the wide men we've got who have a good delivery we can cause them problems too. It'll be an intriguing game none the less and I for one can't wait
  15. If we take points off the likes of Wolves, Fulham, Sheffield Wednesday in the coming weeks then I'll believe we truly are on the right road. But until then it's impossible to tell if he's turning it around or not. A few weeks ago I was certain it was a matter of time before he got the boot.
  16. Lambert left Wolves ages ago...
  17. Oh god no we shouldn't fear anyone obviously, but at the same time I don't think there's anything between us and them on paper. Two teams of very similar ability
  18. Not sure that's the case to be honest. I think both teams are extremely similar in ability and that'll be evident on Saturday methinks. Yes we have some excellent players at this level, Snograss, Adomah, Kodjia, Terry, etc but they have a lot of quality from overseas who've played for some big clubs in Europe. Don't think there's very much in it at all between the teams.
  19. Bruce will go there and try to shithouse a 1-0 win. I actually wouldn't mind if we took this approach, away in a tough game. It's against the lesser sides where he has to play more positive football. Go there and make the game ugly, be tough to beat and try and nick it. Not that I think Wolves are Barcelona or anything, but they definitely have the legs on us and good players at the top end of the pitch. If we go there with a gung ho approach I think we could find ourselves in a bit of trouble.
  20. A game which may actually suit us, Wolves will dominate the ball and we can play the counter attacking game. One thing I do worry about though is their team will have the legs on us, being a much younger team. It'll be an intriguing game nonetheless. Would take a point now but if we can win then we really are turning it around.
  21. Extremely unconvincing but a win is a win. But tougher tests are to come, starting with Wolves after the break. That'll be the proof in the pudding when we come up against promotion contenders whether Bruce is the right man or not. Good to go into the break unbeaten with 4 successive wins though it can only breed confidence.
  22. Great result but the real test is when we come up against the likes of Leeds, Wolves, Sheffield etc and others with aspirations of going up. I hope he's starting to turn it around and this isn't another false dawns. Makes you wonder why it's taken him so bloody long to work out a winning formula but better late than never I suppose
