  1. Wolves fans in the main saying what we knew when Adama was here. Running down alleys, no ebd product and no brain. He had a purple patch for a few months last season which was ridiculously hyped up. My Wolves mate would sell him tomorrow and it seems they've finally woken up to what he is
  2. Fantastic performance. We're a joy to watch. **** VAR
  3. Feeling really confident about this. They're nowhere near what they were last season, what with selling players and that horrible injury to their star striker. Can see us winning by a couple of goals
  4. Aston Villa to appoint FC Copenhagen technical director Johan Lange as their new Sporting Director. Replaces Jesus Garcia Pitarch. Lange worked as assistant to Stale Solbakken during his spell as Wolves manager. Phil Mcnulty reporting
  5. We have to be real, we've scabbed it by the skin of our teeth. Anyone thinking we're just going to stroll into the top half/45 plus points and win 15 games overnight is kidding themselves, especially with such a quick turnaround. Offer me 38-40 pts and 14/15th place i'd gladly take it. It's about progression and we need shrewd signings for this.
  6. Probably bitter Leeds fans after the incident last season. Plus Smith's continual excuses after every game did rile people, myself included, after a bit.
  7. BuT wE DiD a FuLhAm UP THE **** VILLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANDNUINSIUNIBUBSUVYVSIYTVBAHBJNAKBSHABYUABASUABAJH
  8. This is precisely why, despite what happens tomorrow, I really don't know whether he's the right man to carry on long term. As you say, we were a shower of shit for the majority of last season and only woke up for the finale. Same this season - only started to put in performances since returning from lockdown. Where has this been all season? Let's be honest, we've looked relegation fodder for the vast majority of the season and are fortunate that two teams below us are somehow even worse. We're AVFC, think big, not mediocre.
  9. Don't see it. If anything Watford shithousing a point and us losing is our biggest threat imo. Don't see Bournemouth winning
  10. The reality is, the pressure is completely different now. Previously we looked dead and buried and had nothing to lose and were chasing, in the hope that others drop pts. Now our destiny is in our own hands and we have everything to lose. A totally new kind of pressure. I hope the boys step up and I trust that we will.
  11. For the first time all season, I actually saw a cohesive, sensible game plan from Smith. Credit where it's due. Not convinced by any stretch that he's the man to take us forward but credit where its due for last night. Got it spot on. Same Sunday please
  12. We're actually gojng to do it! Absolutely fantastic today! Everyone to a man. Shows we can **** do it
  13. Why are people banging on about relegation being confirmed tonight? **** hell, Watford are not getting anything! They're shit just like us and will most likely get tonked
  14. They unearthed Nuno through good recruitment and a good project, and yes as a matter of fact I had. Anyone who bothers to watch football outside of this country would have known he was a high calibre manager, and even if you hadn't, one look at his CV said so. As for Bielsa, yes a gamble, but a gamble worth taking at a championship club and had a good reputation, christ look at the blokes cv. Christ, football does exist outside the UK you know. It's fairly obvious a bloke who'd managed porto and valencia, and also a coach who'd managed across Europe and the Argentinian national team were top calibre. Are you really trying to say that these weren't top, high calibre managers? Give me strength... Just because you hadn't heard of one of them before doesn't mean others won't have done, or a quick wiki search wouldn't have gone amiss...
  15. Agree to an extent but if we have the right strategy in place then the name Villa will attract... Leeds attracted Bielsa with the right project, Wolves attracted Nuno, hell even Mike Ashley managed to keep Rafa in the championship. Strategy in place first, will help attract a top manager.
  16. It is doable to attract a top manager in the championship - see Wolves and Leeds for details. Definitely can if we stay up. The name of Villa will be a huge attractionn regardless of where we end up.
  17. I've said all along I want a new manager next season regardless of what division we're in. Results in the next few games will not change that view. Fwiw I think we'll scab it and beat the drop and we need to be looking to kick on then, or we'll be in the same situation next season talking about the same tiresome failures of this manager. I understand that he's not been helped with recruitment and injuries, but nonetheless we have to aim big. We're Aston Villa football club and for far far too long we have thought small time. These owners have stated they want to kick on and have huge ambitions. Whether we are in the championship or the PL next season, keeping DS will not reflect this imo. Thanks Dean for the promotion and if he keeps us up but not the man to take the club forward for me.
  18. No new voice is getting them points in their next 2 games. No chance. If they stay up it'll be by default
  19. Exactly this. Plus I'm not buying that Watford are still the favourites. They will 100% lose their last 2 games and they're banking on us and Bournemouth not winning a game between us. A risky strategy. One of us will dig out a result and relegate Watford. Hopefully it's us
  20. We may not need to win that much. One win could be enough
