  1. He isn’t terrible with the ball at his feet. Far from it but Emery wants a holding RB and Wan-Basaka is perfect for that. Re-sale value on both Adams and Gnonto. Wan-Basaka would fix a weakness in the first team for seasons to come so why would you want to sell him?
  2. Nonsense. Adams, Gnonto and Wan-Basaka are Premiership ready while a lot of Everton’s signings were not. Adams can play at RB plus as a DM and is pacey. Perfect squad addition. As previously pointed out by another poster it’s not unusual for a player to refuse selection to force a move. Gnonto would be a vast improvement on Bailey. Wan-Basaka is one of the best defensive RBs in the Premiership, is much better defensively than Cash which is exactly what Emery wants for that position.
  3. I’d be kicking in the front door at Leeds to offer them 40m for both Adams & Gnonto. I’d also be knocking on the door at Man U to see if they’d sell Wan-Bissaka?
  4. That’s so not true. Newcastle have a very good coach who has bought well and knew how to blow Villa’s high line apart.
  5. Not on today’s performance. Villa have had a full pre-season under Emery so that wasn’t supposed to happen under golden boy.
  6. Said to a mate of mine in pre-season that if Emery continues with that high line the better teams (top six) will slaughter Villa. You simply cannot play that way against the better sides who have too much quality and will pick you apart! Generally it was a really poor performance and the score line flattered Villa. Villa played against a CL team today and it showed in every area of the pitch. Emery needs to drop the high line now before he has more embarrassing results on his hands. I questioned his appointment at the time and still need to be convinced by him.
  7. Sounds like a player that needs an arm around him and Emery is that type of manager!
  8. Build it and they will come.
  9. When you factor in the amount of games if Villa progress in Europe then the difference needs to close more. If it doesn’t then Villa will be treading in treacle by Christmas.
  10. McGinn has been excellent 1st half but that high line worries me. Fantastic goal by Konsa. One to tell the grandchildren .
  11. I know it’s only a friendly but that high line is going to cost Villa this season.
  12. Has the makings of a really good player.
  13. If anyone comes in for Luiz and offers 70m I’m sure Emery and the club would bite their hands off!
  14. Decent move and I hope it’s a success for him.
  15. Don’t like the away strip. Home goalkeeper or home shirt is gonna find its way on my back when on holiday. Maybe Luiz’s name as well.
  16. Confirming that Grealish was part of a relegation team then went to the last game against West Ham to avoid relegation again. Which proves my point that being part of a side that was relegated doesn’t make you a bad player. That is unless you are blaming Prowse for getting Southampton relegated? In which case I would suggest you look at his stats for last season!
  17. I’m not the one making childish remarks. We’ll agree to disagree.
  18. I don’t need your help thanks and noted you didn’t reply to any of the points I’ve made.
  19. What does he create? He has spent most of his time as a DM . Your unwillingness to engage someone having a different opinion is if I may say so, quite bizarre on a forum. Either that or very arrogant but so be it!
  20. Quite a bit since I have supported both teams for a very long time. No vendetta here at all by the way. I’m not saying Luiz is terrible. He is tidy in his play and comfortable on the ball. However my main gripe with him is his effectiveness as a midfielder. He doesn’t score consistently, he’s not very tenacious in the tackle and rarely creates anything. Yes I did see his pass for Diaby’s goal last night against Fulham but how often does he do that in the Premiership or in games that matter? For example Man U Casemiro absolutely schooled Luiz the last time they met but that was very quickly swept under the carpet here. That is the quality of of top four teams which Villa are trying to break into. I generally feel that Villa have suffered from a lack of goals from their midfielders for a very long time. Villa haven’t really had a consistent goal scoring mid since Platt or indeed a dead ball specialist! Thats why I feel Prowse would be more effective than Luiz while still being very good technically.
  21. With respect being a member of a team that has been relegated doesn’t make you a bad player. Villa were relegated with Grealish in the side. Secondly, I’d be very interested to find out how you know Prowse is currently struggling to get get a move back to the Premiership? If Prowse is indeed a much inferior player to Luiz then why were Villa trying to buy him last season? Yes it was rumoured Arsenal we’re trying to buy Luiz last season and if rumours are correct the only reason why Villa didn’t sell him was they couldn’t find a replacement so close to the end of the window. Playing for any national side, even Brazil, doesn’t guarantee quality. Wesley played for Brazil ffs!!
