  1. lol, your a wind up merchant and a pretty shit one. Your ridiculously ungrateful for what he did for your club, I appreciate you was never going to send him away with a pat on his back but lets not judge him quite yet.
  2. Have you guys not seen their score..... 5-0 down to Barnsley at home. Wow I thought our result was awful. Not exactly cheering me up but its nice to see
  3. No the hard questions have to be asked We don't deserve to be a premier league outfit losing 4 - 1 to Southampton... Lets hope Adkins talks up Lambert like Lambert did for him before the game Im not trying to deflect away from these hard questions. im just saying I find it pathetic how after one win, I see numerous posts suggesting top 10 finishes, then after a poor performance, we have to discuss it in a thread called relegation. Wish some people would have a little more sense.
  4. Clearly the way we played was a conscious decision from Lambert, It didnt work out, we learn we move on. It wasnt good enough, and I was dissapointed we didnt play in a similar style to that of the Swansea game but we all knew, or should, that this would be a tough season but its about progression. Bent and Benteke can play together. You cant write them off after one poor performance using what turned out to be an incorrect style of play
  5. I hate this thread. Cannot we not have a thread to generally speak about results?
  6. There's nothing in the youth teams as a centre forward that I can think of as coming through - in fact we're pretty desperate there, we have Drennan who is so-so and will probably have a lower league career and then we're having to play Grealish up front with him at the moment as we don't have a second striker. The point on the five we have remains true, but I think it'd be a nice bonus if Delfouneso were to come back an improved prospect. It was more of a sweeping statement, we undoubtedly have some strikers coming through the ranks, even if they are 15, 14 even, I see someone has mentioned Robinson to. There is no way in hell we need 6 strikers on the books. Thats outrageous. Perhaps if he was to come back an improved prospect but he would have to set the championship alight for me to really want him back here, I think sometimes you just have to move on.
  7. Thats special....... Not quite sure what else to say.
  8. I hope he does well, then we give him and some cash for Ince or Phillips. We have Bent, Benteke, Gabby, Weimann and Bowery as our five senior strikers and have youths coming through.
  9. I just came across this http://www.readingfc...3154-315489.pdf I think Reading are trying to get a better atmosphere and reckon telling the fans what their favourite chant is, is the best way to do it. I particularly look forward to hearing the Danny Guthrie one when they come to Villa Park. Im sure the tune it goes to is a big hit with the hardcore royal fans. If they sung it in a high pitch voice id cry... for days. Fire away with some other suggestions!
  10. Gabby will bring a different option. He looked sharp at The Sports Direct. A fully fired up and fit gabby has a big role to play still. I wouldnt say a big role to play but he could certainly contribute and i wouldnt expect anything less from him.
  11. Did Darren Bent not score on his debut against City?? or am i talking pish? Look bright, wants to impress. Could be a real handful !
  12. I thought he played very well, he has really impressed me. Taking into consideration the jump up in quality from what he is used to, I think he has handled himself very well. Got caught in possession a little and occasionally gave their man half a yard to much but could turn out to be a fantastic full back for us.
  13. Fantastic addition, hopefully we can see more and more dominant displays from him this season. Really happy we bought him in. Top pro, and seems a top bloke from the interviews. he will do well for us.
  14. I think bringing Holman in was a nice bit of business. He has a tremendous work ethic, he is very disciplined and his movement isnt to bad either, so far it seems he is a little technically limited, however we can take encouragement from the fact that he is trying to do the right things, he just isnt executing them as regularly as we would like. It will come though, im not expecting him to be massive hit for us, but he could have an important role within the squad.
  15. He's never been sent off for us. I also reckon earning a place in the Premier League team of the season represents a decent achievement from someone apparently so poor. In all seriousness he isnt poor his style of play has just been found out the last two seasons. Not a great defender though, he had his day. but its firmly gone.
  16. Dont forget a few own goals along the way, bust ups with coaches and generally looking pissed ! Good old crazy eyes. He was good for a short while, started to fade towards the league cup final and hasnt stopped.
  17. Always liked Defoe, always will. A very explosive striker, quick one the turn and is more than capable of not only clinical finishes but ones from outside the box too ( this opinion isnt based just on his goal midweek.. ). Him and Bent wouldnt neccasirly have to work ridiculously well together to set each other up although i feel they are capable of doing so, I think thats where Mr.Ireland comes into play Right price and he would be a fantastic addition.
  18. With wages to revenue at 50% would it really kill us to sign a promising youngster that the manager? If cresswell has a good season his fee might increase next summer or bigger clubs could make a move for him. Not at all, I think the issue is why should we be lumbered with shit when we dont want them. Im all for correct squad management. It can be very frustrating at times but this was never going to be an over night fix. I agree we need to sign a few players but have hope
  19. hahah seen whose tweeted ?? ITK_Transfer- Can confirm that Aston Villa have not had a bid accepted for any Man City player. #avfc #mcfc Im glad they are on twitter, Its good to speculate, but they are morons to !! He has confirmed so so much, with none coming through for him
  20. My biggest issue with Fonz is his work rate, lazy and just doesnt look arsed. No point shipping him out as we dont have the depth to do so, but we need a new striker in. We simply cannot rely on him.
  21. Fantastic post with some great pictures too ! Love hearing little stories like this. Have you ever made the trip to Villa Park to watch a game?
  22. Outrageously a man who will pay thousands in tax cant get a visa.... you then see some of the people walking round, who cant speak a word of english and contribute **** all. Makes ya wonder.
  23. We could certainly do with a midfield destroyer type player. I would be slightly disappointed if KEA was used in that role, I dont think thats his game, he likes to dictate play. Has more to his game and we shouldnt stop him from doing that. Lambert: "Karim is someone I have been aware of for a while. I think he will be great for us. He is a very, very good footballer. "I don't think he's a set player in terms of defensive or offensive. He can do most things and could do both roles if I asked him to do that. "Certainly I won't curtail him and will let him play with freedom because I think that is the way he plays. He is a very good player. "I think your eye as a manager tells you what a player is like in terms of their good habits and bad habits as well as how well they can move the ball. "I think he can move the ball well and, at 27-years-old, he's an experienced player who has played international football.
