I remember seeing him in an interview a few years ago, when he was asked about his relationship with his Mum. He didn't come across as the sharpest dart. Extremely, very highly unlikely to get an autobiography, or an interview longer than a minute. Not an interesting / evil enough person like Roy Keane or Joey Barton, or as well known as Rooney. The vast majority of people don't care, let alone know who Agbonlahor is. Ask a random American, and they probably think its a strain of Zika virus. However, I myself would be quite curious of his view on several things that happened in his career.

Rather than forming an opinion on the snippets of information we get, I think somehow if Gabby was able to express his view, it might prove to be quite insightful. There are some gaps of information there. I wont hold out for his book though. He is a footballer after all. Probably thinks grammar is his Dad's mum, and context is what prisoners do with cell phones.

During the MON days, Gabby was used heavily in a counter attacking role, and that is where most of his goals came from. When O'Neil left, particularly during the Lambert period, Villa no longer played a counter attacking game, but used slow build up with crosses into the box. If any players were gifted with speed, it became an unutilised talent. Gabby was never a target man, like, say, Benteke. Instead of running on to through balls, he had to park in the box, wait for an accurate cross, and get the ball past 3 defenders and a goalkeeper. Having to change his playing style from what he knows and does well would effect his form and goal tally more than anything else.

Gardner's improvement in form, its all Bruce's fault. I am expecting some form reversal in other players, as the team relearns how to play football.

I have enjoyed going back to the beginning of this thread and reading about their relegation in 2008. It is hilarious! Also the VT old guard, they were funny feckers too.

At the start of the season, I thought he was better than Gardner, but that was like comparing turds. They were both awful. Gardner is coming good now. I know we can see better from Westwood, he has played better before. Hopefully he can find more focus and direction under Bruce.
