This makes sense. Jetlag messes you up the most when you fly west, so I understand if he is bright eyed and bushy tailed flying back to Inglin.
  2. Sincerest apologies! I honestly thought the game was moved to Saturday.
  3. Gazza's books could be interesting. I wonder if the first prints were written in crayon?
  4. Stranger Things would have to get my vote for best new show this year.
  5. A - hem. Please don't get mad. The game is now on Saturday! I will also be around next month to steal your Christmas presents!
  6. If we do go into every player thread, what we will find is that you don't like any of them.
  7. I am really excited about this game. If we win this game, we send out a huge statement to everybody. You want to step up, you want to lift, against us? You want to laugh and say we beat the so called mighty Villa? You think you are better than us? Well, come at us, bro! No matter how big, how small, or who you think you are, we wont be backing down. We are Villa.
  8. While people debate whether Gabby is the messiah or just a naughty boy, I think its best to just take the agnostic approach. There seems to be too much assumption and speculation. We probably wont get the facts until after Gabby retires.
  9. I think it would be interesting to compile a line graph showing gameplay congruent with relationship status.
  10. My list in carefully arranged random order :10. Gran Turismo 2 - A good variety of cars, and if you lap the jalopies in your souped up rocket, why not waste time with some awesome head ons? 9. Playboy the Mansion - Yes, it does contain sex and boobies, but I liked playing this game for the articles. 8. Syphon Filter - The original, and only that one. 7. Resident Evil 4 - The last truly great game of the PS2. 6. FIFA 99 - Recognisable names attached to blocky looking aliens playing football on the PS1. Rockefeller Skank still has that Pavlov's dog effect on me, making me think of this game. 5. The Last of Us - Awesome story, and even better gameplay. If you don't like this game, you are a zombie to me. 4. Resident Evil 2 - The game that just kept on giving. 3. Tomb Raider 2 - The sound effects, the weapons, and the locations. The Floating Islands level feels like I have dropped some serious acid. 2. Grand Theft Auto San Andreas - Easily the best and most complete game of the series. 1. Bubbles - I have this game on my work computer. When it is slow, I flick over to this game. No matter how discrete I am, I always get busted playing it.

Mooy. WTF. It was like Jedinak was his baby sitter. I had no idea what he was trying to do out there, and I don't think he did either.

Aside from the two penalty goals, he was the only one solid in the middle. Best player in a lazy Australian team riddled with poor effort.
  13. Thanks Grasshopper. At least I understand your disdain, and you know what, that's fair enough. I have supported a lot of your posts in the past, but this particular issue wasn't clear to me. As I have stated in posts looong ago, I believe he is no longer at his best and he has wasted his prime, but I found it hard to comprehend the contempt for Gabby. I actually believe that some of the knuckleheads you have mentioned have been worse than Gabby, most particularly Delph. I still think Delph is worse though. I have no smart ass comment or meme for you, as you have made your feelings clear. Whatever happens, lets just hope it works in Villa's favour. UTV.

I am genuinely glad that you found him to be a nice guy. In reflection, maybe my reaction was harsh. It was the thought of having someone so disruptive at Villa, that they would create the same atmosphere as if somebody threw a box of angry cobras into the dressing room. Villa has had to put up with too much crap recently to add to their troubles. There is an approach to risky situations, its kind of like an equation. The rewards if everything goes right, versus the consequences if it goes pear shaped. How great and how likely are the chance of rewards, or, could you handle and/or recover from the consequences? Roll dem bones.
  15. Grasshopper, when you say he is a shit footballer, I can accept that and respect that. Its your opinion. But how is he a disgrace to himself as a person? For somebody to be described in that way, they must have done something really horrendous. Your next line, " A loud minority see through it, think and say what they mean", doesn't that imply that a loud minority are speculating? Honestly, not having a go at you, I just want to understand your thoughts.
  16. My picks. CM - Lansbury, if we can pry him away from Forest. Maybe even look at Tom Rogic at Celtic. One of the best Aussie players at the moment. Also Morgan Sanson from Montpellier, a talented mid with lots of potential, whose contract expires at the end of the season. RB - Hysaj from Napoli. Maybe Henley from Blackburn. At the end of the season, look at getting Flanagan from Liverpool, but on loan at the mo with Burnley. What is appealing about these guys is that they can play both sides of the pitch. Two seasons in a row we have had fullbacks out for the season. We should get two.
  17. That is very fair, Dave. You are obviously basing your opinion on what is tangible, on what you see, rather than blind speculation. I respect that.
  18. Its because of your strong recommendation I am prepared to give it a go.
  19. What is this I'm Alan Partridge you speak of? I have seen it mentioned a couple of times, but before I never even heard of it? Is it really good?
  20. AB, there have been so many resentful things said about him, if you were to sift through all the posts from the last couple of seasons, it was said somewhere. If not, it has definitely been implied, and you don't have to go too far back for that. I agree with what you are saying and you do make a good point, and that was basically what I was getting at. I think the vitriol towards Gabby has been a bit too strong. Yes, the word hate shouldn't be used lightly, it would be much better if people provide the actual reasons behind their resentment, but it seems that no matter what the depth of redemption Gabby provides, some have made up their minds that they " very strongly dislike" him, no matter what he does.
  21. Thanks for all the tips so far, everyone. My job occasionally requires me to go to the middle of nowhere sitting on my ass for long periods of time, so a good book goes a long way. Cheers!
  22. I have always had a thing for British comedies. From The Goodies when I was a kid, to Black Adder, to Russell Howard. Britishians are funny.
  23. Thanks, JV, that actually makes sense. I never really could understand it. From what knowledge I have of Gabby, there is good and bad about him, as with any mere human. Yet I couldn't understand such strong hatred of him. he is just a footballer FFS, not Nigel " Turtle Face" Farage.
  24. Trying to grasp some understanding of this hatred of Gabby. He is no better or worse than a lot of players we have or had. As for the weight issue, it seems to be more a matter of ignorance and negligence on his part. It just seems that the hatred for him seems a little over the top, usually reserved for someone who chops the heads off kittens or firebombs children's parties. He plays for Villa, yet he is hated more than any opposition player. Despite how it seems, I don't think we have the full story to base such strong feelings towards him. Apologies for the sarcasm before. I will try and curb it back.
  25. So what you are saying that rather than him being an idiot, he has been scamming Villa for the past 5 seasons? Rather than making poor judgements, he has been intentionally causing harm to the club? If that's the case, he deserves my hatred too. He is worse than Delph! Yes, that is better. You have totally convinced me, so I have bought my ticket for the Gabby hate train too. Begone, Satan!
