  1. Not if it's a penalty that we score! #vidiccostus
  2. For me too mate, I'd take this cup and relegation in a heartbeat. We will be in a much stronger position financially and squad wise. It won't be like last time. I think it's kind of quirky to go down in history as a club that played in Europe from the championship. Imagine if we didn't get promoted but won the Europa league
  3. So people want to know what miracle we need to best Man City..... Here goes, 1. One of their defenders fouls our player as the last man and actually gets sent off. 2. Freddie let's rip from 30 yards, it's gonna miss by a mile but takes a wicked deflection and goes in! 3. Our keeper plays the match of the century and stops everything, they have 75 shots with 37 on goal but don't score, we counter once and beat Bravo. 4. We put in a god awful cross and somehow Otamendi contrives to put it into our net..... 3 times. I could go on, but I've made my point..... As much as you can't see how we could win there actually ways for us to do it. I have put $100 worth of various bets on Villa, cos I'm not getting caught with my pants down if we win. Right here, right now if we win..... I f$#king called it! UTV!!!!!!!!!!
  4. I'm not an expert on the situation re Derby, but from what I can gather they are in trouble for overpricing their stadium to the tune of double it's worth. We have done nothing of the sort so I don't fear us being persecuted by the EFL, they should be so lucky to have us in their league. Especially if West Brom and Leeds go up.... I don't want to go down but if we do I have absolutely no doubt we will start next season in a much much much better situation then 4 seasons ago, and when we come back we will come back to the PL a much much much stronger squad than the one that will go down..... Grealish going is inevitable, and it doesn't matter whether we stay up or go down IMHO. As much as I love Jack, he'll go with my blessings and I look forward to what we do with his large fee!
  5. Mate, sometimes stuff that you didn't expect just happens.... I am absolutely clueless as to how we beat Man City, but I'm looking forward to watching how it's done in a few days. Sorry I wasn't inferring that you should support another team, I was meaning you just need to remember who are are and where we are at. Imagine if sometime around 13 months ago you'd been told we fighting to stay in the prem and in a league cup final. No one could see how that would be possible at the the time, yet here we are. Weird stuff happens all the time, I'm believing something weird is going to happen 3am Monday morning for me
  6. Well mate if you can't handle the heat go support a big club where trophies are guaranteed..... Personally I'm looking at all the positives for the big day. If you told any Villa fan at the beginning of the season we would have an excellent cup run, we'd be ecstatic, let alone make the final. Now we are there, some (I had my fleeting moment) want to concentrate on doom and gloom, and talk about how crap we are. Not for me, we are in a cup final. We are going to win, we are going to stay up and next year we will be playing in Europe. Until it's not possible that's what I'm going to believe. Now you have every right to your opinion, but I personally think you need to go look in the mirror and remind yourself you're a villa fan and get in the spirit. Otherwise Man City are always looking for new fans to help fill the Emptyhad!
  7. For the purpose of my point I had to state their name...
  8. I remember thinking we were going to beat Arsenal, even convinced my Man U loving father-in-law that we were going to beat them.... Watching the game at 3 in the morning and pretty sure he went home after Per's goal and thanked me for ruining a good night's sleep!
  9. All the cup finals Ive seen are multiples of 5
  10. Wow, I was trying to think of all the cup finals Ive seen as a Villa supporter..... Somehow completely forgot the 2015 Fa cup final
  11. Geez I was pumped for this final, but the last couple of weeks it's all gone tits up..... I'm questioning whether a day off work, an upset Mrs and the expense of getting myself into the city in the middle of the night is worth it. I might be showing more commitment than some of players. I knew this season would be tough but if we get toweled up in the final, any remaining confidence and good vibes will be gone.. We are running out of winnable games and don't play like a team that could cause an upset against the better teams.
  12. I was being a bit facetious.... Laporte - yes but I love our defenders Walker - too old Jesus - yes fair enough Ederson - yes Sane - clearly a bad attitude so no Mahrez - mercenary so no Otamendi - lol he is a disaster he would not play in any team of mine Stones - as above Gundogan - too old Fernandinho - too old Sterling - mercenary so no Foden - would love him David Silva - too old Bernardo Silva - yeah ok
  13. He is slow, he makes poor decisions, but most of all when he gets the ball he looks scared to have it and can't wait to just get rid of it. He had a good half a season about 3 years ago, but that doesn't make him a good or talented footballer
  14. Sorry SGC but I'm gonna disagree with you here, he is utter trash now that his confidence has been smashed to pieces. He would cost too much and be on too high wages for his output...
  15. I love sports betting, and I like to think I know a bit about odds etc. I'm astounded (but very happy) that Villa are 18/1 to win the match in 90 minutes. If they pay on my Liverpool bets before the cup final I'm going to put a nice wager on those odds. Gamble responsibly On a different note, I found a AVFC supporter club in Adelaide. I will be heading in at 1am to watch the game at the casino. So I won't be alone! Kick off isn't till 3am so if we win I should be nice and drunk by the time the first train leaves to take me home...
  16. She has let me play Xbox all day and brought me lunch so she is forgiven like I said my wife is a handful but in general she is pretty awesome
  17. Butland wouldn't be fit to to Orjan's laces..... Bet Stoke wish they sold him for the 20 odd million they could've got.
  18. I'd go to far as say that if it was only kids then I'd be for it but how the hell would you police that. Unfortunately it is like many things, the minority ruin it for everyone else. The minority make players and refs.and coaching staff feel uneasy so they all have to exit to take no chances. The minority ruin everything in just about every aspect of life..... It really grinds my gears. If everyone felt safe you could run on to the pitch to celebrate, but because of percentage of oxygen thieves over time it's called an 'invasion'
  19. It ruins it for fans overseas too, instead of getting to watch the team on the pitch clap all the fans and soak up the moment all I got to watch was a few minutes of hectic chaos. As a kid I might've done it but as an adult I'm thinking GTFU and let everyone enjoy it. For all we know the team and DS could've stayed out there for 20-30 minutes!
  20. If Nyland is our no.2 keeper going forward then we will be doing very well as is young enough to improve and doesn't seem the type to cause a fuss if he isn't playing. Trez hasn't got the greatest touch but what I love is he gives us everything everytime he is on the pitch. Grealish, well I don't need to tell y'all about Grealish. He's one of our own and I don't care if I'm going early, he is world class to me! Targett and Grealish seem to forming a very good understanding of each other. Numerous crosses and at least 2 goals have come from their interplay. Luiz seems to have shifted up a gear lately and he will always cause us panic but I think he's worth it for what he can offer going forward. Mings, ah TM ...... If Paul McGrath was God, then you may well be Jesus! Absolute legend and if he can grow a beard, I may hold in the same esteem as Mellberg. Konsa and Hause, young and there are mistakes in them but they seem to be getting more solid as time goes on. If I can offer some advice to Hause ..... Pass it mate, your mazy runs that end with you running into 3 opposition players scare the crap out of me. Nakamba, again he will get more solid as time goes on, and I love that he always seems up for the battle. He might not be that big but he doesn't mind using his body to protect the ball or win a 50/50. Samatta, Ive already praised in him in his thread, I was impressed with his debut and he seems to have a bit about him. I hope for his sake and ours that he scores his first relatively quickly so his confidence can blossom. AEG, my only negative player summary. Barely noticed him and when he did get the ball seemed a yard of the pace. However! I will counter the negative with the positive that I know that's the type of player he is, he is the quintessential hot/cold player. Today wasn't his day but I'd put money on him a scoring or setting up a few important goals if we are to survive. I want to play Man United so badly, I would love to beat them in the final and then get justice for them cheating us out of it in 09. I still can't work out who the bigger word removed is, Vidic or the Ref Being a supporter in another country, in a town where I know no other fans bloody sucks. If we win this cup then someone on here has to FaceTime me or something (I know nothing of the technology) I'll pay for it, and just stick your phone in the corner so I can watch everyone celebrate. Even for a few minutes!
