  1. After his comments I expected to see us send out a B-Team and lose, we sent out a strong eleven and lost, even that doesn't surprise me. We couldn't beat Bradford, Ipswich or Millwall, whilst there is always room for shocks and off days - we now fully expect to lose to lower league opposition every season. We are an absolute **** laughing stock. I don't think a couple of cheap gambles in the transfer window will make a difference. There is something really wrong at every level of the club.
  2. If Bendtner can turn his career around then anyone can Can't see Delf doing that but who knows
  3. I think that is the end of the Defour deal if true. well hopefully not necessarily as we could use both players and more, maybe Defour is the loan? main question is how does Kozak's injury change our targets if at all?
  4. not exactly exciting and as predicted but we do need experience badly
  5. i heard we are signing Satan as he's good with possession.......
  6. damn it, the only poster with any genuine inside knowledge on here
  7. Eh? Bit random. Care to explain which post(s) you're referencing? yes i was getting carried away, and no i wasn't singling anyone out just generalising. On the whole there are a lot of posts across the forum stating Tonev and Bowery is crap and plenty people saying they don't rate Kozak. I too am guilty of slagging of players and not giving them a chance, I also moan and don't get behind the team enough. I certainly didn't get the point of signing Kozak in the first place - but I think he has offered something we didn't have in back up. If he really has a broken leg then it is terrible news for us and the player, we now have no target men in reserve to cover for Benteke if needed.
  8. That's just not true. difference off opinion I am not saying he is better than Benteke when Benteke is on form or even close to being on form. I am saying that when Benteke was awful - Kozak came on and we looked better.
  9. But Bowery is always played as a wide forward like Gabby, never seen him actually play as a central striker.
  10. we have looked much better when Kozak plays and he has scored goals, what more do some of you want? He leads the line well but unfortunately he has come in when the team is at it's worse and had to come deep to pick up the ball as we are/were averaging about one cross into the box per game and Westwood's utterly shite corners. considering the amount of games he has had he has adapted pretty well Benteke looked distinctly iffy at the start for us in more minutes than Kozak has had.. I don't get why some of you think we will sign a player from a different league and expect them to be world beaters from day 1. Even as crap as Tonev has been, he has probably had a total of 4 games worth of on pitch minutes, which to write him off is amazing. I bet Helenius plays against Sheff Utd and if he doesn't score that will be him written off by most as 'not good enough' the standard label for most players. Now Kozak, Helenius, Tonev and even Bowery might not be good enough - but jesus christ give them a chance to fail.
  11. Read the full article - not the headline. It covers just about every permutation possible ......'one or two bits & pieces' - 'quality not Quantity' - Even talks about hanging onto Benteke ! still contradicts the tone and intention coming from our fearless leader according to PL and HH - we have targets in mind and have already done the ground work - Nursey's article says nothing about anything but definitely tries to suggest we are not arsed about signing anyone.
  12. James Nursey is saying we have no specific plans or urgency to sign anyone in the transfer window. good to know eh
  13. Brendan Todger has agreed first option on Will Hughes
  14. i think central midfield should be his best position, may need a bit of time to get there though.

  16. we grew in confidence at the end and you could see the real Villa at times The true Tekkers showed up a bit hope Vlaar was just knackered and not injured. shocked Delph and Albrighton didn't score those chances, even my nan could have managed it. what a bad tempered match though, Sunderland fouling like it was a pub football match. there is hope......
  17. at one point he managed to trip over his own feet to give possession away, impressive
  18. Sunderland spend most of the time tippy tapping around the back four.... that's not really meaningful possession............. unfortunately we back off in the final third and invite them onto us and the longer they have possession the more of our attack comes back to defend and we instantly lose any outlet when we get possession. **** me it's not rocket science is it...........
  19. although welcome it does seem strange that only now Lambert is recognising the need for experienced players and acknowledging how bad our football is. lets see where this epiphany takes him/us.........
  20. I would say aside from Tekkers and Ron, not many teams would be include any other players Lambert has signed in their first elevens, maybe Kozak and Bacuna would get in their squads. Good Benteke - awesome player (if last season wasn't a fluke) note how our best player is also the most expensive Vlaar - took a while to come into his own, but considering the quality of defenders he's had around him - i'd say he's a pretty decent signing Promising Bacuna - for what he cost I think he is a good signing who can fill a number of roles and take some decent set pieces (Could put Okore here also I guess) Reasonable Westwood - would be ok as a squad player but should not be the back bone of our midfield Lowton - a little like Westwood - fairly decent but shouldn't start every week Kozak - too early to judge really but by no means bad Average Bennett - would still like to see more of him but maybe not at left back Luna - no better than Bennett but may still adjust and improve Sylla - I like him but after recent performances it's hard to work out why he was signed KEA - Not beyond redemption but is a pretty basic workhorse Useless Tonev - might get better....... maybe? Bowery - if he was any good he would be starting by now Who knows? Okore - what we saw was good Helenius - what we saw looked reasonable
  21. he was actually really good at the start of the game, but then few intelligent (ha as if) passes came anywhere near him and he kept dropping further and further back to defend. i don't want to defend him too much as he has been mostly terrible but he can get down the wing well and cross if given the opportunity, just rarely seems on the same wave length as the rest of the team.
  22. Vlaar better be back next game - otherwise Baker and Herd CBs - SHUDDER!
