  1. Dear Aston Villa, Thank you. Until I played and scored easily against you my career was on an uneasy footing possibly even a downward trajectory. Then I got the opportunity to start against your team. Now Sky believe I am the saviour of football again and I am very happy. Thanks again I couldn't have done it were you not so reliably awful. Yours Dimitar Berbatov Danny Wellbeck
  2. Ridiculous isn't it, why does everybody hate us? It's true though! It's incredible the amount of points we have considering how badly we have played. Yeah but the point is no teams below us deserve to be above us. They have been uber shit aswell All Sky and the BBC want is to be able to wax lyrical about the big teams and how amazing they are, if one of the big teams are doing badly or lose, they focus on 'why' the team lost, rather than how or who beat them. If you are not in the top 6 big teams you are there merely to make up the numbers, to be stepped on like ants, to make the big teams that sell games/licenses/subscriptions world wide look good. I almost wish they would have their own special little league and all disappear up each other's assholes.
  3. Herd is injured according to HH mate. Terrible luck for this kid. I know this probably isn't the case but usually when I see Herd in the team i feel we won't win, even if he doesn't play badly.
  4. Glad Gardener is on the bench but no Helenius again? Seriously?
  5. Watching match of the day you sometimes think 'jeez we really hate creative central midfielders' you look at Steven Davies doing well at Southampton, Ireland doing a good job for Stoke. Whittingham does pretty well for Cardiff. even Bannan gets a game most of the time all be it for Palace. I know the above means little and is not just about who Lambert has let go, But I also find it so ridiculous that even if he hadn't have been injured - Lambert would have bombed out Nzogbia. I rate Delph highly but he doesn't pull the strings in midfield, the rest are nearly men and cloggers. Carruthers is 20 so I hope he and Grealish are brought back and reassessed by the coaching staff. All we get linked to is more forwards, it's like that anti-McCleish - instead of a team of 9 defenders - Lambert plans to have a team of 9 strikers.
  6. i do kinda agree but there is a slight irony in that although both Bannan and Ireland were mostly dreadful, they could sometimes (ok once) actually retain the ball and pass in a vaguely creative forward thinking way. Either way they were both crap and we sacked them off, but bought no-one who could actually do the job better - just more cloggers.
  7. As bad as Manure are, i can read the Moyes redemption headlines now - with everyone jizzing over them getting there season on track and bumming Rooney in the face for being the saviour of English football. If we were having a good spell of form, had Delph and Vlaar involved I could maybe get a brief whiff of an upset, but being that our only chance of success revolves around our front three being on form - then I don't see anything other than a total drubbing. I only really care about the performance. I hope we play well and lose rather than serving up another round of 3% possession, 2 shots on target style dog shite.
  8. There is no reason that we can't pay bigger wages and bigger transfer fees, presuming that by the summer we are on a better financial footing with only a few bomb squad players left - and with the money being pumped into the premier league these days there is no reason we can't compete. The question is does Lerner back Lambert, do we trust Lambert to spend that sort of money and does Lambert want to take that risk? This season because our three man attack has failed comprehensively our tactics have crumbled, we had width with Weimann or Gabby running down the flanks, and Lowton (and even at times Bennett providing width) now that isn't happening. There is no threat from our midfield and our strikers are out of sorts, every team puts three players on Beneteke who clatter into him everytime he gets the ball, there are no one on ones for Tekkers to power through and win anymore. So presently we don't have much of a plan B and our defensive stability is under question due to injury. It's going to get worse before it gets better unless some of our new signings prove their worth. The next game is the type of game we always lose - a team out of luck and out of form - all made ok by finding the space and possession they need to destroy us for a morale boosting victory. We can't outplay Hull or Sunderland FFS. We may as well experiment and try and get our tactics right rather than worrying about the result.
  9. It would be nice if in January - Lambert was allowed to spend 25-30 mil on two maybe even three quality experienced players two creative midfielders and another experienced central defender I am not saying that would instantly resolve everything but it would certainly help. obviously this is presuming we don't sell Tekkers till the summer which is uncertain. At the moment Vlaar and Guzan do a good job of marshalling the defence, but we don't have that influence in midfield or up front. Gabby and KEA are not natural/intelligent leaders.
  10. There is no magic answer to getting us playing well and winning, but I would like us to try and stop three up front or five in midfield and three at the back bollocks. If everyone is fit I would go with: Gabby -- Benteke (or Kozak) Tonev -- Bacuna (or Sylla) -- Delph -- Albrighton Luna -- Clark -- Vlaar -- Lowton Guzan If we are going to go with counter attacking football then we need width and overlapping full backs, now I am not convinced by Tonev either and Albrighton has yet to really get a convincing run out, but at least this is their natural positions. Maybe even swap Bacuna for Alrbrighton, he can play central midfield or did in Holland. Steel in the middle - pace down the sides. I am not saying we would win with the above, but at least it would make more sense than playing endless passes at the back and then hoofing it.
  11. Bet Moyes can't wait to get his season back on track against us, they'll **** murder us.
  12. is that a direct quote from Lambert?
  13. I spent over twenty years of my life believing that football was all about blending youth and experience, having a mix of work horses and creative players. Then Lambert took over and in tandem with a financially overcompensating Lerner has basically thrown any traditional football values and useful tactics onto the fire. We are now in a real time situation of watching youth gain experience (and we all know how much we enjoyed watching our defence get schooled and humiliated week in week out last season) which sort of worked to a very painful degree for our defence but doesn't really seem to have benefitted our midfield. We've spent so much time trying to justify Lambert's transfers decisions and bomb squad choices that I think many of us have been in denial about the actual quality of our squad. Significant investment on players that have the ability and experience is the only thing that is going to change anything, players that can inspire and lead the younger players all over the pitch. Or else there will be a backlash and Lambert and Randy will lose the fans.
  14. Does the manager like Helenius?
  15. When we've been bad we've won When we've been bad we've lost When we've been bad we've drawn there is a pattern there I think
  16. I didn't. I said the football was dire against S'hamton and West Brom and got some dreadful stick for it. So what have you got to say to me? There are as many PL lovers on here who run when we lose. I still think he should be given time but for the life of me I don't see this 'plan'. Your list should be replaced with one item: Our luck ran out today. Yeah I agree, the Lambert apologists get just as much enjoyment from shooting down anyone who dares to question Lambert and his big 15 year plan for mediocrity.
  17. Guzan: 4 - Because he made some good stops, but was accountable for the first goal Bacuna: 0 - Utter dog shite Herd: 0 - Please never again Baker: 0 - Awful Clark: 4 - Only defender who could defend KEA: 2 - Only because I can't remember what he did Delph: 2 - Well he tried Westwood: 0 - Worst game in a Villa shirt Weimann: Unrratable - I don't want to see him on the team sheet again Gabby: 2 - see Delph Benteke: 0 - he did have two shots but nothing else of note Subs: Tonev: 2 - see Gabby Albrighton and Lowton - too little time to rate. MOM for us: Helenius MOM for them: Mike Dean
  18. this has been the worst performances i've seen except for all the other times we have played this bad this season
