  1. And they are quoting 'goal' who were quoting the 'back to Brazil: story, so no actual factual reporting here, just garbage clickbait quoting other garbage clickbait.
  2. I guess it depends on who he brings in (if he signs anyone in Jan) or who recalls in the summer, he might be looking for better strikers or players who can provide width. I feel currently most of our crosses come from Digne and rarely clear the first man so we are screaming out for attacking width.
  3. much like your typing skills only joking son (c) Patrick Eastenders
  4. isn't that because we don't have any, anymore?
  5. linked to Álex Moreno, 29 year old defender for 18 mil. surely after Ings, Phil and Carlos we've realised spunking huge sums on players with no resell value is a pretty bad move???
  6. hell it's only ten + million to write off, pocket change to our owners lets release Phil while we're at it, keep paying his wages though as why not, only money
  7. Sanson or Coutinho? Both i would guess? I genuinely don't think Phil will want to move again, unless he loved his mate Steve so much that he can't go on without him.
  8. It was widely reported Emery was promised new signings and would have demanded this before taking the job. Unless he has since found the squad to be so awesome he doesn't need new signings.... then I can't see us not making a couple of signings or trying hard to. The Villareal players links are about as likely as the deluge of Ranger's players Stevie G was meant to be making. Although maybe in a different class in terms of quality and price.
  9. apparently a 'personal issue' not an injury I've argued for him getting chances, but it feels like flogging a dead horse, so may aswell sell and try and recoup something. No-one is going to buy Coutinho and no one willing to loan him can afford his wages, so can't see him going anywhere. Hopefully we can recall some players and send others like Bednarek back
  10. be good to see them both on the same pitch
  11. our record with goal keepers is dreadful, especially the back ups, either they turn out to be useless or they get near career ending injuries. But we need to replace Olsen, sign a new winger, a forward and a central defender also better cover for Cash, i love Ash 2.0 but he can't cut it at RB especially against big teams.
  12. Us Fulham and Brentford have apparently bid for him (Jhon Duran that is) but he was linked to Chelsea and Manure less than a week ago
  13. ruined his performance with soft wayward clearances
  14. at his own dire tactics? High line against these muppets is suicidal
  15. be good if we could uncover a few uncut gems, we seem to be doing it well at youth level
  16. No issue with opinions on the player based on whatever you choose to read, see, believe. I personally thought he didn't do enough on loan to warrant being signed permanently and apart from a handful of games has been a let down, all be it he has shown he still has quality - just no consistency. He was never going to have the legs to be a high intensity battling midfielder, he is an attacker and a bit of a luxury when you are struggling, but if the team are playing well and show confidence he could be awesome for us. The only reason I was posting was to say we don't know what Emery will do with him yet, how he will manage him and what the player will do under Emery because none of us have a time machine. Some, (not all/many) people quote/get riled up about click bait puff pieces that state Emery hates Martinez and is desperate to sell Phil for pennies to teams in Brazil. Debate is fine, but be nice if some posters balanced the hate, bile and keyboard bashing with a bit of balance rather than cherry picking the old favourites to dredge up to scream a point, and i've been guilty of this plenty of times, so not saying this from a point of 'being better' I get angry and carried away all the time.
  17. The point is you can't just cherry pick facts to make 'your opinion seem better' which most love on here, *Bailey did nothing last season, Buendia did better, now Bailey has started to show us what he is capable of this season but still far from consistent (yet). Buendia is only just getting some games under his belt and we look far better for him being in the team. And yes we can and will blame the previous manager for being a giant bell end and persisting with Coutinho when he was doing nothing** For balance who has been 'good enough for the fee paid?', I mean Diego Carlos 19 mil and he's done sod all in a Villa shirt - tch, simply not good enough eh*** Facts left out *due to injury mainly **mainly because the system didn't suit him and the whole team was playing terribly ***definitely due to injury
  18. Buendia has better stats, assists and goals than Bailey, but both have suffered from injuries and idiot manager, Bailey more so. I rate them both highly and am excited that we have them in the squad
  19. The same Bailey who you've been slagging off most of the year? Even Digne does a very basic job, no frills, but for the amount we pay in wages.... Cash also 'does a job' but is incredibly overrated - as much as I love the guy. by Coutinho do you mean (the Xmas spin) of the Ghost of Coutinho past, or are you metrics for success just 'ability' regardless if applied in any way shape or form? I want Phil to succeed as much as the next person and hope he will show his undoubted ability under Unai, but not going to try and pretend he isn't the very definition of 'biggest high profile disappointment' in a Villa shirt since Stan Collymore.
  20. Easily one of our best players, the expectations of him are comedy and unrealistic, if Emery can build his confidence and manage him correctly he will be a game changer. At the moment he blows hot and cold and he gets too frustrated when things don't come off, but his work rate and effort can't be faulted, he just needs a run of games and proper coaching to get the best out of him. At the moment he and McGinn are the only two players who even attempt to unlock the defence, we seem to get very little from repetitive easily blocked low crosses.
  21. people can make their own bias and agenda work for or against him the truth is no one knows what will happen in the next in the chapter of Little Phil's Villa career or career in general (YET)
