  1. is playing furniture an option? If so it would play better than any of the current muppets
  2. ping a ball over the top and we fall apart in comic fashion
  3. The moment we started to play out from the back and try and keep the ball better I knew we would squeak past some teams then get brutally punished by others especially the top 4. We don't have the physicality or technical ability, mentality or focus right now to play the way Emery wants, its going to take a lot of coaching and revamping this squad. I hope we learn from the failures quickly and every week isn't a 'fascinating way of learning how sh*t we still are'.
  4. he's out of form and low on confidence, he needs to be benched and Emery needs to coach him, rebuild his self belief and play him as a winger on the left. Hopefully Duran can start and Bailey can be benched, unfortunately our problems don't begin and end with Bailey though...
  5. This. He's not a striker and he should be played on the left.
  6. Best team in the country are Arsenal and they will be destroying us/getting back on track with form next weekend, any team who is suffering a dip in form, just play Villa and you can regain your confidence instantly.
  7. One loss v Leicester and the entire team mentally falls to pieces and reverts back to type, even briefly under Steve we were ok for a handful of matches. Poor Unai having to coach this bunch of spineless pr*cks.
  8. is anyone ever good enough for us? According to you especially.
  9. I think we all got carried away with our expectations of what might happen in January - we made two good signings, but sounds like a lot of attempted signings didn't happen, which I don't blame on the club. The Leicester result wasn't down to lack of Jan signings, but does feel bitterly disappointing when we have a wounded angry Man City to play at their place followed by the league leaders next up, the odds of getting anything out of those games feels pretty low. Especially if we continue to play out of the back whilst both teams run at us in packs of three, we will crumble like a 50 year old biscuit. Our whole defence looks w*nk at the moment. Cash and Digne need to be benched, but not sure i have much faith in Moreno either.
  10. Isn't he injured/not match fit yet? I don't want to enter the how good/how bad Bertie is debate. I will say comparisons between him and Bailey don't work at all on any level. Would rather a player we spent 16/17 mil on and is probably commanding decent wages - is not rotting in a foreign league whilst we subsidise their wages for the benefit of another club, whilst their contract and value runs down. I don't know what role he will play under Emery but if anyone can get a tune out of him, Uncle Unai can.
  11. have to think this might also be why Nakamba didn't go to Watford...
  12. Are you sick of this board not backing your transfers in January and telling unknown french journalists just how annoyed you Aouar. Also what is your favourite beer?
  13. lolz isn't the issue the players we are trying to sign aren't convinced by the project? or the clubs won't sell I doubt it's the owners dragging their feet and not keeping promises
  14. It's weird, the narrative before Emery joined was the players/squad wasn't good enough and he would get considerable funds to overhaul it, pretty sure we were pretty billy big b*llocks about giving him a big war chest as part of his agreement to join. But then he turned this bunch of dead weights into a team capable of grinding out and occasionally nailing some impressive wins. The Stevenage loss (and a few times he's had to use fringe players) certainly would have shown Emery how poor our squad depth is, Moreno is a good signing, Duran is meant to be one for the future greenlit by - but not chosen by the manager (maybe he will start sooner than we think). I thought we wanted a 'big finish' insert Kenneth gif. If we let Nakamba and Chambers go aswell as Ings, Archer (loan), Ludwig, Guilbert and Sanson without anymore incomings, I can't see us really getting anywhere near European places unless we really do remain injury free till the end of the season.
  15. It is where Villa players go to die after all
  16. why are we discussing Gallagher, not seen one link anywhere and he seems to start most games for Chelsea.
  17. a lot of loan deals don't have recall options - QPR have a tiny squad, doubt they would let a player from their regular 11 go back if no recall clause. Find it odd we let Archer go on loan, then sold Ings??? If we sold Chambers we would need to bring Swinkels or Bogarde on the bench.
  18. Bednarek was in response to Carlos getting injured, Dendonker was in response to Kamara getting injured (i think) both signings triggered by circumstance. I think the fact we are letting a fair few players go, means we must be confident of getting a couple in, otherwise we are a couple of injuries from trouble
  19. do we ever buy players this close to the end of the window or even on the final day??? other than desperation signings and loans nobody wants, but that era is a long time ago, most transfer deadline days for us are irrelevant in recent years as all business is done at the start of Jan if at all
  20. You mean when the click bait/twitter bulls*tters try to cover their backs by claiming if he doesn't join in Jan he will join in the summer, so they can't be proven wrong until.... the summer when it also doesn't happen
  21. The player who was joining them in the summer and not as an immediate replacement to anyone?
  22. Thankfully we never signed him, most over hyped player since Dale Stephens
