  1. Id be willing to bet money Xia has no Intrest in selling and there will be no firesale. You need chill out mate, it's not gonna be that bad.
  2. Yes, there's a reason Leeds are the only interested club interested in him, people get excited over a fancy foreign name and a rumour of them playing attractive football. Fact is Bruce is statistaclly our best manager of recent time, we would be mental to get rid of him and replace him with someone like Bielsa, far to much of a risk in our current situation.
  3. Spurs would be a great move for him tbf. Obviously I'd rather him stay but you couldn't begrudge him a move to there.
  4. Pickford came bottom of the prem with one of the worst goals against in the league, would hardly call that performing. Those figures were just to show how average players can have there prices inflated just for being English, the rest of my post told you why you could maybe expect to pay that much for grealish....
  5. I don't think grealish is worth 40 million but if we don't need to sell then we could easily hold out for that sort of fee depending on how badly you want him. Mahrez has done an awful lot for you no denying that but he's also made it very clear the past few windows he wants to leave, after this window he'll have 18 months left on his contract which is when players values start decreasing quickly. Last window your club valued him at 90 million. The main difference is you have a player who wants to leave, who has the chance to play for the best team in England under one of the best coaches in the world, city know they can put in a decent bid and mahrez and his agent will do the rest to get the move done. We have a young English player who loves the club and has never made any indication about wanting to leave with bags of potential who we most likely will be wanting to keep a hold of which is why we can dictate his value. P. S Andy Carroll 35 Mill, Shaw 30 Mill, Michael Keane 30 Mill, John Stones 47 Mill, Jordan Pickford 30 Mill. Being young and English and having a bit of potential costs a lot!
  6. Surely every player has their price though, 40 million is an unbelievable deal for us I think and well worth it. I just can't see it been true though, it'll be around the 20 million mark which I'm not so sure I'd like to sell at.
  7. Add it to the approx 10 mill we can save in wages through contracts and loans expiring we will be well in the clear. I think the 40 Mill we need to find is a bit of a guesstimate though so could be slightly less or a lot more!
  8. If we didn't replace him then yes but if he went for 20+ we could get some decent players signed and loaned with that which would leave us in a better position than keeping him.
  9. What if non of them are ready though? Davies was good for 3 games, ohare failed to impress on his chance, suliman failed in his loan, Hepburn Murphy didn't even look like he'd ever played football when I saw him, these are our top rated youth players and non seem ready, you can't just throw them in their careers would be over before they started. Green came good under Bruce but unfortunately seems injury prone, grealish is playing his best ever since Bruce came in and bree looks half decent too.
  10. Yeah, injuries were a massive problem, had we not lost grealish and kodjia for so long and had the spell without Terry I think we would have done enough to finish second. People are acting like it's all over for us now and we will become the next leeds/qpr but I just can't see that being the case, we have a good base of players and some great young lads coming through I'd also expect Xia has a plan with ffp. I'm already looking forward to next season and I am hoping Steve Bruce will be our manager.
  11. No this season counted perfectly fine, we came close and missed out. So did you actually expect to get promoted after that start we had? With all the deadwood in that team? It was far to unrealistic in my opinion.
  12. You would like to think so because I 40 million pound fine for qpr will cripple them and it'll only lead to docking points, the system seems set up to protect the elite clubs.
  13. His first season doesn't count because when he took over we was in the relegation zone, we was a complete mess and he turned that around. Those who expected promotion in the first season especially after that start show the kind of unrealistic expectation a lot of our fans hold.
  14. Its Made the game worse because now the big clubs can pay over 100 million for a player no problem but smaller clubs wanting to make a go of it get punished. They say its there to protect clubs from going into administration and getting ruined but at the same time they are trying to fine qpr 40 million, just doesn't make sense.
  15. Exactly, we could do with a manager who has great connections with the premier league clubs to get us some decent loan deals.
  16. Phil Jones was a stand out defender for Blackburn and went for 15 million luke Shaw was doing it at Southampton in the premeir league and looked really special. Grealish has half a season here in the Championship where he's been alright plus a couple of special moments. Theres no way utd spend 30 million on that especially with a contract up in 2 years the deal would make no sense.
  17. There's no way mourinho will be interested in signing grealish, he has much better available to him currently and there is much better available in the market.
  18. Letting hutton gabby and Terry go will save us around 7 million In wages, if we could some how move mcormack and Richards on that would bring us to 10 million mark. I think ffp sounds worse than it actually is, there's no way Xia and Co haven't got a plan lined up to pass if we never got promoted.
  19. Yes, dropping to league 1 now that's a proper disaster, I'd say Xia has only made 1 error and that was getting in Di Matteo from the start and letting him loose with all that money. I'd have also preferred him not to be telling the world we would be competing with Barcelona after 5 years either, it's year 3 and we are still playing the likes Bolton, Rotherham and Birmingham!
  20. Disaster? Think you might be over reacting a bit there!
  21. On a whole I don't think it was a bad season, yes we failed to get promoted but we gave it a really good shot. I'd still be willing to give Bruce another chance again however I would be open to a change providing it was a completely different style of manager. I think Bruce will resign anyway its been a tough year for him and he may just be thinking about retiring or at least taking some time out the game.
  22. For some reason they all think the doc is skint and we are going to fall through the leagues due to ffp whilst they are on the up. Truth is they have no money because Harry spent it all on player wages, they have one player worth over a few million in jota and have just had their 3rd last day survival in 4 years. How they cannot see they are in the sh*t massively ill never know.
  23. Harsh to blame just Bruce for that loss, could quite easily say grealish who missed a great chance and didn't even hit the target off snoddys free kick cost us. The whole team needs to take the blame for that result.
  24. I agree a lot of our fans over rate him massively, he's decent and has good potential, he's nowhere near top quality yet nor is he worth the 30 plus million people seem to think we could get for him but to say he is part of the problem is completely false, we could easily build a team over the next few years with him as the centre piece providing he keeps up with the improvements he's been showing. For what it's worth I think we'd be looking at around 15-20 million for him with add ons if we are lucky, his contract is up in just under 2 years so we would have to be careful of any bids we also reject.
  25. I think this thread is proving to people that there's not much better than Bruce available currently.
