  1. That is unless a) you're a poor sod who'se had their personal information pastebin'd onto the internet as part of one of their "targeted campaigns" against one of those evil evil companies (see Sony's Playstation network DDoS attack in 2011 - which saw logon details, names, addresses credit card details stolen "for the lulz") or b ) one of the people who decided to take up arms alongside their anonymous brethren and blast targets with the Low Orbitiing Ion Canon - only to find their weren't that anonymous afterall... Money mostly, see the Blackhole Exploit kit, and more recently cryptolocker - gone are the days of viruses just yankee doodle dandy through your PC speaker... Thing is, whilst they might do a lot of "good", their methods involve a lot of "innocent" people getting affected and are quite often "bad" - but as the saying goes, "one man's freedom fighter..." Edit 1 - for some formatting Edit 2 - as suggested below, no matter their motives or targets, I can't stress enough that partaking in any sort of DDoS attack will most likely land you in hot water (up to 10 years for a UK conviction) - just don't get involved.
  2. Finally jumped aboard the whole podcast bandwagon (despite reading the fiver for what, 10 years now or so) - needless this was the first thing I downloaded to see what all the fuss was about. Man, have I been missing out...
  3. Chose a good week to sub Cabaye and Remy out then... :-@ just hope Benteke continues his run of 1 in 1 to make up for it...
  4. And Ron Dennis has stormed the McLaren offices, taken the lift to the highest floor, kicked Martin Whitmarsh out of an unfortunately open window and declared himself king. At least, that's what I think the rest of the article says, I didn't bother reading past the first line after getting distracted by the thought of Ron Dennis performing an actual coup d'etat...
  5. Taking my bro to the 'phins game - was lucky enough to get tickets for the '07 game against the Giants back in the day as well - just hope the game is a lot better this time around =P
  6. Same situation as myself - however I had some post through from Sky yesterday (though judging from the content it should have really have gone to the developers) - Sky can now offer a cut-price engineer out to fit some extra stuff to the dish / inputs which will allow people to put a signal splitter on their faceplate (in their home) to get full functionality (i.e. 2 the ability to record something else without the sky box freaking out and ending up on a BSOD...)
  7. Can't buy you love though! And I don't take any offence at the people bitching about the 'diff - there are some proper skanky parts as with any city - but at least you can walk about with an English accent and not have to fear for a lynching!
  8. Boo! Boo to you I say!* A lot of mightly pissed off people in the office the last couple of days, can't blame them - I feel for them despite me being totally indifferent to the club. However, consider his - Tan took over after the locals had to endure the likes of Sam Hammam and Peter Ridsdale (y'know guys that publicly stated things like "buy your season ticket now and we'll totally spend it all on new players" before declaring there would in fact be no new players, or screwing the club over for "missed payments" for their new soulless lego kit arena). The fact that no only is this guy is copping a metric ton of abuse from fans (and rightly so imo) but he's not even considered in any favourable light despite the finances he's dumped into the club to finally get them into the Premier League and the predecessors who he should be compared to shows just how bad things are here (at least according to fans I know - none of which own a new red shirt). *Though Caroline Street at 4am is not a pretty place to be, I'll give you that...

Guy in work mentioned these a couple of weeks ago - he has one by his bed to stick it onto silent mode (along with other dnd features I got bored if listening about), 1 in his car for some other handy modes there. Edit, I'll find out what app he used to set the tags up with ( but they not need to the app to work once they've been set up)
  10. First time I saw the news, I had a heart wobble as I though it was Phil Dowd taking charge...
  11. From Phil Doward (head of PR for Premier League Match Officals): Referee change for the @AVFCOfficial vs @ManUtd match on Sunday. Lee Mason replaces Chris Foy, who still has hamstring twang. I can only presume PD reads the Fiver...
  12. I wonder what the odds are of Clark clattering Young in the box, only for Young to get a booking for diving? I've also been informed that RVP was injured in training so may not play - though I can't find anything to back that up.
  13. Grand Prix: The Killing Years (link)
  14. Ace, was flicking through some old FF8 videos a couple of months ago - saw this one of a Guardian Force I'd never seen before - turns out it was an unlock from the pocketstation stuff. So finally might have a chance to get it - though I sunk far too many hours in to doing all the side quests back in the day - remember spending hours farming catuars till the big one got a gunblade in between his spikes...
  15. Groups F and C are a bit pap - but there could be some cracking games amongst the rest. Like others have said, Brazil versus one of the big euro guns in the 2nd round. Looking forward to Englands group tbh - hopefully we'll hit the ground running (or more likely playing for 2 0-0 draws in the opening games before aiming to hammer Costa Rica) rather than the awful group phases we've had in 06 and 10.
  16. He was quick enough this morning to remind Brazilian protesters that they should pipe down and be grateful to have the international republic of fifa showcase their country mind...
  17. The only time I thought that a sin bin would be appropriate would be for those fouls usually described as "taking a yellow for the team" - usually for sycthing down an opponent on the halfway line as they're about to break on a counter attack. Like BOF says, it'd need to be another level of offence, rather than simply binning anyone who gets a yellow - that would be messy.
  18. Also on the plus point for Brazil '14 - no fraking vuvuzelas!
  19. Ironicallly, IIRC it was because the Dutch played a friendly against Indonesia earlier in the year they brought their average ranking point haul down enough to pull them out of the seeded group, whereas I've read somewhere the Swiss FA were loathe to arrange friendlies to preserve their rankings.
  20. So after this thread I decided to treat myself before xmas and throw some dolla at a fancy-pants collectors edition of Ni No Kuni. Flipping tidy mun. Think it's the first ever game where the gf hasn't disappeared at the first sight of me firing up the PS3 - if only because she can pick out all the Welsh words in the dialogue =)
  21. 1 word of warning on LG smart TVs - it's come to light that if you connect it up to the net, your TV will be sending "non-personal" information (like what channels your watching, what media you're accessing from USB devices) back to them (original blog link). There's an option to turn data collection off (it's on by default), but that option doesn't actually do anything - the TV will carry on collecting this data and sending it off onto a "non existent" server (to be fixed "soon"). LG have gone from "you accepted these T's & C's when you bought the TV, so deal with it suckas" to "we're most definitely not storing this information or using it to target ads, honest guv" and flirt between the two depending on which side of the bed their PR dept woke up on.
  22. In true fiver style, could we get the title changed to "2014 FIFA World Cup in Association with Adidas, Coca-Cola, Hyundai, Emirates, Sony, Visa, Budweiser, Castrol Continental, Johnson & Johnson, McDonald's, Oi, Seara, Yingli, Apex Brasil, Centauro, Garoto, Itau, Liberty Seguros, Wise Up and Football for Hope" please? =P
  23. Pre-ordered a moto G for my lovely lady in time for xmas (so hopefully I won't have the same postie stealing it like my one X+ last year) - since she's been using a grotty old iphone 3G from ye olden dayes (complete with the hilarious tendency to delete 14 paragraphs of a carefully-constructed facebook message with a single press of the delete key). Now onto the fun of converting her itunes library to mp3s without her noticing...
  24. /tickle kek! See, I can speak dirty horde as well!
