  1. Wouldn't worry too much as they're being sent out in order of when they were ordered - I bought mine about 20 minutes after they went on sale the first time. I've also got some for the Womens' football during the 2nd wave of sales and those haven't arrived yet either. =)
  2. I'd agree with that as well - got my tickets for the TeamGB game in Cardiff through the post a couple of days ago - so I'd be quite excited to see DB and 'Ronny Biggs' playing (I'm somewhat less excited about seeing Craig Bellamy run aimless towards to the corner flag though). Personally, (since we're unlikely to be taking the olympic footyball seriously again) it'd be a nice international send off for them (especially if we make them sing the anthem before the game starts )
  3. Finally got a copy, played for a few hours. Getting into it - am enjoying it a lot more than I tried d2 for a few days (since my net was down and I couldn't possibly live without an RPG fix of some sort until I could get back on WoW =P) - though I put most of that down to me constantly singing the witchdoctor song as I play... LaredoCronk#2278 is my tag (since my 'usual' handle was 1 character too long =/ ) And thanks to this thread I spent far too long deciding which villa-esque banner I wanted to rip-off the most...
  4. Done and dusted according to the Beeb: 3 year deal likely to be announced within the next 24 hours.
  5. Finally got around to ordering myself a copy - so I'll check it out when it arrives (and after I finished cycling around Jersey, remarking aloud about their funny money and indulging in some impromptu cow tipping this weekend*) Thankfully BT have sorted an issue out with my home broadband so I now hit the heady heights of 1.6 mega bits per second (turns out builders have a thing for fitting telephone wires into sockets with the sharp ends of screwdrivers) and might actually be able to play (since the 5 minutes of beta I experienced was ruined by lag and a very temperamental graphics card). Might even spend some time playing the game, rather than pratting about with the banner designs =P I'll stick my battletag up here at some point (alas, my authenticator is at home and I can't remember the numbers after my chosen name =P) * 2 of these things anyway...
  6. Just had that page up, hit f5 - and got 404'd =( Booo! Was hoping for some positive news so I can act all insufferably smug around the office tomorrow (smug in the sense that it won't be anywhere near as boring next season, however it ends! =D) Edit, looks like they've thrown that link back to this article instead =(
  7. Just seen this on BBC's rolling ticker of doom: My liverpool supporting work mate was less than impressed when I told him of the Martinez rumours earlier this afternoon (though that might have been due to me reading football rumours than doing some actual work... ) Personally I can't see it working, but stranger things have happened I suppose. Gary Caldwell for their first signing?! Edit, Just flicked SSN on, (don't judge me) Wall to wall talk about this... Can't see him turning this one down tbh (can't blame him either really)...
  8. He's gone according to the beeb...
  9. It's more like Eng-er-bland with that squad. Frankly fed up with it all already, a chance for a new start and get a new bunch of younger players getting used to international tournaments with no expectation on them (not to mention the chance to get rid of the "golden generation" who've failed to get anything done since 2004) - instead we get this squad picked by a manager whose sole aim seems to be appeasing all those Liverpool fans he's irked in the past 2 years. Can't wait. =/
  10. Good to see - I know the same thing happened between Plymouth and Yeovil in the league cup a few years ago. Though it does seem that not everyone was on board with the whole "let them score" thing =P
  11. Just saw on the local news that the club's board is meeting on Monday and will "rubber stamp" the proposals - though how much of that is media-fuelled bluster I'm not sure (as it was ITV local news!). Couple of the guys in the office were joking about all those poor people who'll be having to get their bluebird tattoos changed now =P
  12. it'll probably mean they'll have to change all the blue lego bricks in the stadium to red ones as well... I've spoken to the 2 bluebird fans in the office - 1 was best described as outraged, the other was non-plussed about it all. And I can hardly see Wrexham being overjoyed at another Welsh team playing in red with dragons splashed about on their badges!
  13. I'll get my entry in as soon as I've had a chance to sit down and think about it, draw out pretty graphs and matrices (and then just get bored and pull names out of a hat, as per usual). =P
  14. Main website Beta sign up (requires soe station account). Community driven fan site (where the dev team like to come and post stuff from time to time) Game overview (for those that don't wish to sit through the rest of the post.) tl;dr version. Beta is coming out "soon" (like end of the month most likely) with Keys available in US versions of PC gamer. What's it all about? 3 diverse factions, first person shooting, territory control with a resource meta-game, with an emphasis on teamwork, customisation of your gear, jetpacks, rocketlaunchers, awesome man-able turrets, stealthing snipers, loads of vehicles and aircraft. Oh and about 900 over players fighting over the same bit of turf as you, on a persistent world. So, in a word, awesome. Nothing has ever come close in gaming for me (not even the the first Neffy kill in WoW, but that was close).
  15. I played the beta of the PC version (since the PS3 version got canned for the time being) for ff14 last summer, absolutely horrid horrid game. Didn't help that they build the ui with a console in mind (and then left it hideously broken for PC-mouse users) - the thing bombed, the developers got fired, several official apologies got issued and they're lining up a complete overhaul of the game and re-release shortly. Thing is - I enjoyed FF11 (despite the need to basically play with a ton of notes on the side detailing numerous things, like which spells to cast for big explosions, what buffs each food items gave and which direction to sit in while crafting.) - but 14 just took all the stupid design decisions and cranked the stupidity up to 11 (like breaking mages down into various classes, but instead of sticking with red/black/white/blue from 11, they gave them incomprehensible names so you'd have no idea what kind of character you'd be playing). Can't say I'd have higher hopes for the re-release either mind - but I'll probably do some research and see what's up with it.
  16. I used to have the Stereostropic Nvdia drivers "back in the day" (so, 2004) - I only used it for a couple of games - UT2004 and Planetside - and I'll be honest it added very little to UT - and it caused some weird depth-perception issues in PS that made it incredibly easy to get stuck running into trees because you weren't actually running where you thought you were. Plus trying to balance red/cyan glasses on my face whilst already wearing prescription lens was somewhat of a challenge. And usually ended 30mins later with severe headaches. Having said all that, it did give a nice sense of depth in PS - ironically the best use of it all was in fact looking at the global view of the planet (away from all the FPS shooting action), and seeing all the clouds swirl above the land.
  17. I had grand visions of leveling a priest to do that sorta thing off the Thandol Span (or whatever the bridge between the highlands and wetlands is) (note, this was back in the back when hordies used to bother hunting down alliance in menethil on a fairly regular basis) - because as fun as ganking someone is, nothing beats keeping them alive and making them decide whether they drown or spend 5 mins swimming back to land, only for you to do it again...
  18. Heh, I'll poke you if I see you about, as I've sunken to the depths of resubbing for a couple of months =P
  19. Yeah, that was the plan, but by retiring my pala in T2, it might give some nub a bit of a shock if I ever come back (plus the JM set is far too cool not to use)
  20. Bah, got a couple of guys down the other end of the office who seem to do a lot of PvPing on their hunters (and therefore all I hear is them moaning about them) - needless to say I'll be getting a lot more earache. Though the swine flu outbreak is almost worth subbing again for (though I still need to give away my hundreds of fish and prance about in my Judgement set in Northshire before calling it quits for good)
  21. Meh, I've been a bit indifferent to the wrath content tbh, whilst I'm not raiding anything "big" yet (since it seems every bloody pala in my guild rerolled ret at wrath and gets a raiding spot, while I've been suffering it for the past 2 years and still don't get to be on the cutting edge of raiding) - I'm not convinced the difficulty curve is anywhere near where it should be. It's not that the heroics are easy per se, but the fact you can waltz in there, clear the place first go and still manage to complete all the "achievements" straight away seems a little odd to be quite honest. Plus clearing naxx 10man (and come to think of it the guild has done all the content thus far) so swiftly doesn't really bode well, unless they introduce the new content as some form of utter cockblock that'll have everyone farming heroics for 2months for new badge gear. (Plus the reputation grind seems a lot more forgiving, bar a few daily-only factions, yipee) Guess it's just a long way to say I like the content that's been brought in (and having now cleared just about every quest in game) - a lot of the "story" in wrath is ace - but it's a different game again (as TBC was from vanilla) and I'm not sure I like where it's heading again (mostly since ret will get nerfed back into the ground from another 18months)
