  1. On the chance of sounding overly negative.. I find that one of the reasons he doesn't get dribbled past much, is because he for the most parts backs away from oncoming attackers, he doesn't get dribbled past, but at the same time doesn't stop the attack. Many other defenders will stand their ground/attack the ball more, resulting in stopping more attacks but also getting dribbled past more often. I do though like Konsa, he has a lot strong qualities.
  2. I'm predicting him to start the next prem game with Kamara in the right back or center back role
  3. Or even when they review it for 5 minutes and still can't decide if it's a mistake or not, then clearly it's not a clear and obvious mistake.
  4. I don't see how this is an issue tbh. IMO you should not be winning points by not playing the game, only potential issue I see is that I expect the sky 6 get extra added time.
  5. I kind of agree with Southage about the critique of Maguire, it has gone way past critique to bullying, (this threshold was crossed years ago), by the media and fans. BUT the only reason why fans started bullying him, was because they were offered the opportunity to do so. It the managers job to protect a player, for instance, by removing them from the limelight when needed. Maguire needed to be removed from the limelight years ago, which Southage has failed to do.
  6. Personally I am still shocked that Gerrard and Purslow decided to sign him after a really poor second half to his loan. Coutinho seems like a lovely bloke and did seem to really try for us, so good luck to him.
  7. Jeez, people need to relax on here, he hasn't said anything disrespectful, he just wants to play football, sitting on the bench should be "unpleasent" and he even says "Whenever I have an opportunity, I want to take it" and "but it's up to me to do my best".- meaning that he is putting pressure on himself to prove his worth. The responses on here are actual insanity. Would people rather he said that he was loving life on the bench?
  8. Tough watch, down to a man being outplayed/out worked by a well playing liverpool side. Could easily be a really big loss today
  9. No, he doesn't deserve time, all I ask for is instant perfection, is that too much to ask for. 2 starts and 0 conceded, where our oppositions have nearly been able to create one decent opportunity between them, its just not good enough.
  10. If we were trailing 10-0, I genuinely believe that we would be able to score 10 over 90 minutes against this hibs team.
  11. I think we have looked quite poor but are doing a job. Never feels right to complain when 3-0 at half time, there have just been so many sloppy moments and silly small mistakes. We definitely haven't got out of 2nd gear, maybe it's just a bit too easy
  12. Douglas Luiz, with McGinn, Mings and Young must be the closest we have gotten to "club icons" for the past I don't know how many years.
  13. I don't mind fiery players or players with a "competitive streak" - It shows that they have that determination to win. They just need to learn to control it somewhat, a player that springs to mind is Suarez. In fact, I believe these are exactly the qualities that make a lot of south american footballers stand out and excel. Also a bit of shoving and arguing is entertaining imo, as long as it is somewhat controlled, it fires up fans and players.
  14. I'm going to make a craaaaazy guess, and it is only a guess.. Maybe, only maybe, our world class manager and backroom staff, that see him daily and have have analyzed him through and through, have deemed him not good enough?!? The fact that rumors are that a championship team are likely to buy him, might suggest that they are right. He also only got 4 goals and one assist in 37 championship games last season, which is not very impressive.
  15. Pretty impressive today for a player who apparently has no reedeming qualities.
  16. Not in the squad today, anyone heard of any injury, or maybe just not fancied by Emery?
  17. I disagree that there were any clear and obvious ref mistakes in our game at the weekend, might have been some mistakes by the ref but nothing where VAR should have overturned a decision (IMO). Also if you start giving offsides for players that are standing offside but not directly interfering with play, there will be so many overturned goals this season, I prefer that rule to stay as it is. There was also an incident that people are not discussing this weekend, where Fulham should have had a late penalty against Everton, as it didn't affect the result it has not been discused, but it was a blatant handball and I was flabbergasted that it did not go to VAR.
  18. Great post Quick question. I know no two injuries are the same and that there are 100's of factors involved in rehabilition and risk factor etc., but would the injury Carlos got mean he has a worse prognosis and increased risk at devolping similar injuries again, wheras Mings prognosis, once healed, should mean he is not at an increased risk of similar injury? (
  19. Maybe Romano tweeted when the contract had been signed and it technically was official, just not public? It's not like the clubs inform the social media team and they put messages out on social media the aboslute second the contract is signed Romano is usually right in what he tweets but things change, especially given he leaks information as quickly as he can.
  20. I actually think Maguire is quite good but limited. If used correctly he is really effective and good. He would though, not fit our system even the slightest, he basically only plays left sided, which we don't need as much, he is slow meaning he is not capable at playing in a high line, and is extremely error prone on the ball. He would be fantastic for a more defensive side.
  21. Haha, the hatred of Romano is hilarious Maybe what he tweeted was right when he tweeted it, or that's what his contacts informed him?
  22. I think we were warned before the window that Emery likes to buy players that havent performed to their potential. Zaniola seems like a player with a really high ceiling, seems worth the punt and like a very emery'esque signing
  23. I agree with most but would personally be surprised if we decide to start Bidace over Bailey. I think there is a very good chance we start with Digne
  24. For the game against Newcastle I expect we will see Martinez Cash - Konsa - Mings - Torres Mcginn - Luiz - Kamara - Bailey Diaby - Watkins Cash to overlap, leaving McGinn to help out more defensively, with Diaby going wide right to support, and Bailey attacking the left and Pau defending.
  25. The problem is though, that either us and West Ham then use unhappy players, which can affect their performances and the dressing room atmosphere, or we lose them on a free.
