  1. I think this guy is the real deal and we are lucky to have him on board. Cannot wait to see him in action. Him and Gueye will complement each other well. He could be the midfield powerhouse we've needed for some time. Future captain material on the basis that he sticks around.
  2. Hope he can make the step up and hit the ground running. This guy has all the attributes to cause prem defenders a nightmare. I like the idea of Ayew, Jack and Gill picking up the scraps and exploiting the space his presence will inevitably leave for them.
  3. You could argue that he was the biggest drain on resources before Bent and Given left. All bad deals for the club with hindsight but at least the latter 2 turned in some good performances and went someway to justifying their salaries. The same, sadly, cannot be set for Charlie. Wasted the ability he was given, and some may argue that wasn't much in the first place.
  4. 10-14th and a good cup run. But this team, if it gels could really surprise some people (in a positive way)!
  5. It's unfortunate he has played a significant number of games for Colombia over the last 2 summers. He is a player I really think could blossom under Sherwood, Wilkins et al, but is 2 weeks enough time to make significant progress on what is a vital part of the team? Am cautiously optimistic he can improve on last years showings. You don't mark Messi out of a game (twice) unless you have something about you.
  6. Ignorance alert. Must confess I know nothing about him. How long has he been at Villa? Is he a local lad? Impressed me tonight, definitely one to keep an eye on.
  7. Lovely stuff. Looks promising. Get it done Villa

    I've haddocknough of this thread.
  9. If we sign him, all will be Dandy If we sign him, all will be Dandy
  10. To me this is a sign of where we are as a club. Sure, he is not a guy that will engender a groundswell of positivity, nor is he the clown that some on here would have you believe. He is by all accounts a good pro who will do a job. Not sure who we could have attracted as a squad/back up that would be much of an improvement. We are after all a 17th placed Prem team who continually under invest in it's playing staff. Welcome aboard Mark. I sincerely hope your goalkeeping is better than your singing
  11. I haven't seen any news but the downturn/collapse on the Chinese stockmarket will probably throw couple wrenches on the wheels, a lot of business people lost a lot of money on that. Thanks. May have dodged a bullet there then
  12. Slightly OT but there could be a tenuous link; what news on the Baggies takeover? Thought to all intents and purposes it was a formality but unless I've missed something then they are still in Peace's hands? Back to the Villa, let's hope we get some positive movement, one thing is for sure, we shouldn't have to wait too much longer for answers.
  13. He's come to sack Doris. ITK
  14. True, just with so many other clubs reportedly in for him my cynicism was doing overtime. As you say, relax what will be will be. Fingers crossed for some positive news tomorrow.
  15. Not confirmed yet. Any reason to be concerned or was this always likely to happen tomorrow?!
  16. That'll teach her for double bagging
  17. I lost my innocence a long time ago. Can't remember the girls name but my word she was noisy. Anyway, back OT, Sanchez banned for tomorrow's quarter final, back for the semi if they get there, fingers crossed he still has some game time before heading back to B6
  18. Didn't he just have a birthday, turning 27? Or was it that Sherwood never plays him? Or is it that Liverpool want him, but not for his release clause, but they are crap. Or is it that sliced kick against Man City? Or that good things don't happen to us? I get a little confused with all the regular VT convos DHUTWU! Excuse my ignorance but DHUTWU?
  19. 94th minute winner. Guaranteed.
  20. Get yourself to the bookies. Put a few quid on him scoring against us next season. Easy money.
  21. Great prospect, still some aspects of his game that require work but that will come with games. He's had a torrid beginning to life with Aston Villa, I sincerely hope he can hit the ground running next season and I sincerely believe his experiences in England to date will make him stronger. He could be vital to us, especially if Vlaar is off.
