Seems odd that only a week ago he stated he was happy here, playing good football and that his next move wouldn't be about money, more to do with being part of a cohesive team that could bring the best out of individuals. Guess this was before Everton made a formal offer. To be fair he's a northern lad so can see the attraction with Everton on a personal and family level. Hope to McGrath we have a plan in place. Guessing that like so many things the kit launch is on the back burner until the issue of survival/takeover/sponsor and open top bus tour with the FA cup have been sorted!

Sign him up, he's shown enough for me in C&B and his time at Swansea. Certainly a better option from the bench that Weimann. He seemed to really have a point to prove when he joined, this may go someway to explaining some of the 'selfishness' against Swansea. Maybe a case of trying too hard. Oh, and his Mrs is fit.

One thing is for sure, there would seem to be definite movement behind the scenes. Something is afoot and whilst in the past Lerner kept his powder dry in terms of commenting on speculation, both Fox and Sherwood love a sound bite so I'm sure we will be drip fed information over the coming days and weeks. The prospect of a consortium does strike me as disappointing, as does the additional links with Sporting Lisbon and Inter but until we know who is behind all this and any other bidders I shan't be losing too much sleep. Interesting developments though that is for sure.

I think it's a matter of weighing up the opposition with Charlie. There have been many occasions in the past where something a little different is required and we have sometimes lacked that spark. He has it in his locker no doubt but the problem he faces now is two-fold. Firstly I would question his ability to do the business on a regular basis and secondly, he now has real competition for his place. Gabby, Sinclair, Sir Grealish of Aston, Gill and Cole can all arguably offer as much if not more. Sherwood clearly rates him though and as long as he keeps performing like he is I have no qualms about him being in and around the first XI
