  1. But he isn't British, is he? Obviously chinese. He was born and raised in Birmingham, he's not Irish, his dad is.
  2. Really ? most opposition fans i talk to think he 's useless and so do i. Right on cue. I was about to post that you must be hating this run of good form Beat me to it lol
  3. Ridiculous comment! Why?Because wanting someone to do better or worse because of their skin colour is a racist comment in itself. If racism is to be kicked out permanently, we need to stop treating black and white like it's a different species. By making comments like this it's actually creating a divide, people should just want 'a manager' to do well whether they're black, white, male or female. Only when everybody really is not making an issue of it then real equality can be achieved. This is the ridiculous comment. I guess all equal opportunities legislation is racist as well then? What, you mean the stuff that says that employers can't discriminate on the basis of race? No. Why would it be?Yep, the stuff that is based on separating people out into groups. By this person's thinking of the utopian ideal of 'no one is ever different and to even think about them differently is racist' means that anything which validates the differentiation e.g. equal opportunities, is implicitly racist. Which is quite obviously bollocks. Treating everybody different is racist. Whether people agree with me or not, I see different skin colour as no different as different hair colour. If you want equality, then skin colour needs to be removed as an issue and treated as ridiculous. Can you imagine someone being refused a job because they were ginger? Ridiculous, of course. Start actually treating people the same and not favouring skin colour because of 'issues of the past' and we may actually get somewhere in reaching true equality. "I want him to do well because he's black" is not only insulting to black people, but racist to white people. You really should be ashamed of yourself.

By making comments like this it's actually creating a divide, people should just want 'a manager' to do well whether they're black, white, male or female. Only when everybody really is not making an issue of it then real equality can be achieved. I know this is off topic, but I wanted to respond. This is a common argument against affirmative action in the United States, and it is basically nonsense. The root of the issue at the argument's core is you are treating equity and equality as the same thing. It is fair to treat black issues differently than white issues because the table has been tilted so hard against black people in the past. We have to fix that imbalance that has been created, and that requires us to treat black issues differently in the present. The only way we reach the utopian society to explained is through treating black issues in such a way that allows us to close the privilege gap that has been created over the last half millennium. While I think you are quite correct we will never be a "post-racial society" while we are treating people of different colors (or gender, sexual orientation, etc.) differently, the only way we get to that ideal society is by instituting policies to reverse the damage done over the last 400-plus years. But there is no inequality in regards to black managers. No chairman has ever said "well that black manager is the better one, but we'll go with the white guy" They want the guy who'se gonna do the best job. I want Chris Ramsey to do a good job because I think he's a great guy, not because he's black. If more white managers are getting jobs than black managers then it's because people think they are better for the job, not because of skin colour. I have no doubt the first statement is true, but have you ever thought about why there are not more black managers qualified for Premier League manager jobs? It is certainly not because black people are inherently worse at managing football clubs, and it is certainly not because football is a game of which black people have no interest. It is because young black people who could be Premier League managers never get started on the track to begin with, and in that reality is where you find the discrimination. People need to realize real racism is not some drunk idiot throwing a banana at a black player. It is the systematic and often subconscious dismissal of the underrepresented group. Just one high-profile member of that group can start to change those inherent biases. That is why it is important. I have hijacked this thread long enough, so here is an interesting article on football managers specifically. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/dec/14/why-so-few-black-football-managers And here is an interesting test about implicit association. Read about it, take the test and learn about yourself. https://implicit.harvard.edu/implicit/takeatest.html I have no doubt that black managers never get started early on. That is because it has been their choice, not because the opportunity is not there. It's a bit single minded to think otherwise.

  7. Does Sherwood drop him when Hutton is back.... No, should play him on the right instead of CNZ
  8. Daily Mail reporting that AC Milan are after him now, great :/ Edit: Just seen everybody else's posts, didn't realize I was late lol
  9. It is walkers just a different name around Europe. Like vauxhall and Opal
  10. Cleverly, Gabby, Westwood, even Tekkers to an extent have looked like different, better players under Sherwood.
  11. Gabby and Benteke are great together
  12. Has anybody noticed that the Arsenal badge on Gabbys coat looks similar to the old Villa badge?
  13. He's always had the tools and shown them. I never understood the hot and cold attitude that Lambert and our fanbase had. The attitude was based on the fact he was shit. Nobody ever doubted his talent, but he gave away constant needless free kicks and penalties for either wrestling or hacking players down (too keen to impress?) was a panicker on the ball and also spent most of his time in no mans land rather than marking a man. But even though I was one of his harshest critics I'm glad to be proven wrong, as he's became quite the complete defender and seems to consistently put in a captains performance. Maybe he just needed to mature a little as a player and relax himself.
  14. Had a dream we won 2-0 with Gabby scoring. I usually have dreams about how shit the next day at works gonna be, and I'm usually right about that so I guess we're gonna win.
  15. I don't see it either way, it was just a barely coming together of two players, they both ended up on the floor with the ball rolling towards the keeper. Sensible refereeing would have just played on.
  16. I can imagine him being so very ambitious with his transfer targets. Not sure if that will be a good thing or not. Emmanuel Adebayor? He did make a comment the other day about how much he likes Townsend. He's young which would fit in with him favouring young players. Maybe £10 mill?
  17. Really awful performance. Fortunate he didn't completely ruin the game at an earlier point. Looked good to me, quick feet, clever runs, always wanted the ball and was telling the other players to keep talking. I think that every time we see him, he's more confident and more like the player he's going to be. Obviously lots of room for improvement and he's hardly shone in a game, but the lad is clearly going to be great, especially if Sherwood keeps playing him and building his confidence.
  18. Like people are saying, up front on your own against the massive baggies defenders was always a big ask. Balls behind their defence would have been better for him as they are quite slow. He didn't really have much of the ball, but when he did he turned their players nicely and held it up well. I think he needs to make earlier runs if he wants to add more goals, but I'm impressed with his effort. Nice to have more of the old Gabby back, shame the last few managers have wasted what talent he has trying to convert him to a winger. Let's hope the Benteke/Gabby partnership continues.
  19. Said the same to my old man as it was on the telly lol
  20. That's the shit thing for me if we ever get to wembley, I'd never get a ticket. I've always has to work 7 days a week and very rarely make it to a game. When I have it's not been booked in my name :/ Never mind, I have an awesome tv so I'll get a good view of us lifting the cup ;D
  21. Noticeably most of those goals were when he was either in the box or going through the middle. Maybe he just plays well as an out and out striker, as opposed to his last 3/4 seasons playing on the flanks
  22. Great game to watch, a bit nervy but great. I'm so glad Tim has got them fighting. I'm over the moon, I thought Gabby and Clarke were outstanding and Grealish looked really good when he came on, and settled into it the more time he was on the pitch. Seeing him constantly calling for the ball and trying to take a shot at goal cheered me up. Well done lads, the fight back has started. UT f****g VILLA!!!
