  1. He had a shit day today, but most of the lads did and as he said, shit happens. I agree that a defender like him needs a leader, that the defence in general needs a leader. Vlaar has already said he's undecided about whether to stay or not, if he's not sure whether to stay or not then I'd rather him leave. I've never been a big fan of his, off the pace too much and gifts too many goals. I think Okore will be great played with Clarke next season, and after a good run of games we'll see more of the talent he has.
  2. Looked shit when he came on, but it's his first bad game under Sherwood and he has just came back from injury so I'll give him a pass. He needs games to shake the rust off. I've no doubt he'll be flying for the cup final.
  3. Just pace, not a lot else going on mind.Yawn! Oh I get it now, we all have to agree that he is a really fantastic footballer, otherwise it's boring. Craig I respect that you have your views and I have no desire to change these, I have mine on Gabby, and we all have the right to respond to posts as we see fit, surely? Kind of ironic, "we all have the right to respond to posts as we see fit, surely?" Isn't that what Craig's done in reply to your post? #justsaying My issue Dave J, is that it's all you ever post about. We all get it, you don't rate Gabby. You don't have to remind everybody every time you post. Post about something else for a change, then you won't be thought of as 'Dave J, the guy who bangs on about Gabby being shit'.
  4. Would sell my left ball for a win today.

  6. Looking great, haven't seen football like this in a long time
  7. That's where I am Dave, but instead of Hull I have blunderland to go down. Mind you I dont see Newcastle getting another point this season so at 35 points they arent out of it I think we'll win our home games and get a point from Southampton to put us safe and 13th I agree, it's Sunderland for me, and I'm glad. I hate their shit fans, shit stadium and shit players. I feel about them the way I imagine the rest of the league felt about us a few months ago. But Newcastle certainly aren't out of it. They're only 3 points ahead of us and they don't look like they'll win another game this season.
  8. Legal highs are without doubt becoming the most deadly substances around. Not saying the stuff in question is of a deadly nature as there are so many different brands, but the fact that it is legal isn't that significant in my eyes. Not something I would advise anyone to do. Well, they're not. But I take your point. However, I still think this particular legal high is very low down on the harmful scale. They are, due to the sheer availability and lack of knowledge regarding them. They are a becoming a massive issue. Agreed on the 2nd point. I understand your point, but it's usually down to stupidity where these things become fatal. Overdosing on something, mixing them etc If they really were considered such a danger then they would be illegal. In any case I don't think what Jack's done warrants being printed in any newspaper. Typical English media putting a bad twist on the new 'out of control golden boy'.
  9. I still can't get my head around it, we were amazing. I haven't seen us play like that in years, keep this up and we'll be safe in the league with games to play. Benteke was at his absolute best, Delph and cleverly we're great together and jack, well I've been singing his praises since the first time I saw him, but that was pretty special from a 19 year old, couldn't be more chuffed for him. The fans and the players were amazing today and did us proud. UTV and bring on Arsenal
  10. My local is a small heath pub, so they're point blank refusing to put the game on. Sad b******s. So I've added bt sport to my sky sports package, gonna have a few beers at home and enjoy the game. I'm a little nervous with the likes of sterling and coutinho playing, but I'm certain we'll give them a proper game. I hope Gabby starts with Tekkers.
  11. I wanted to like this quote, but I can't. Because I love it lol Dave has me convinced that he was seriously abused by Gabby, either that or Gabby's shagged his misses.
  12. Putting a shift in is a reference to him working hard. It's not impossible to work hard but still have a bad game. Are you being pedantic on purpose? Ermm! Weimann being the classic example He's the perfect example. He runs his nuts off every game, seems to always look for the ball and you can see it hurts when things go wrong. He's still not good enough, but I respect him for at least trying.

  14. But Steve is right though, he is on form isn't he? Even if he's not scoring every game, he's playing well. Over his career he's definitely had more better games than worse. He's saved us from relegation, has the second fastest prem hattrick (the only 'perfect' hattrick on the list, I might add) And always puts in a shift, even when he's played shit, I don't know why you hate him so much. Right now he's a constant threat and is linking up great with Benteke, even Tekkers said himself in an interview yesterday that he's loving being partnered with Gabby. I understand that people rate players more/less than other people do, but in your case it seems more of a personal vendetta. Did he ever cut you up in his Lambo and give you the finger?
  15. I imagine a lot of it will have been down to confidence. I know he's had a fair amount of game time out on loan and he's looked pretty good, but turning out for a prem team, especially one where he wants to prove he's worth keeping in the team, is pretty nerve wrecking for a young lad. As he plays more and feels himself that he belongs in the team, we'll see more of what he's about. And like you say, he'll then be better on the ball in regards to riding/shielding challenges rather than drawing fouls. Where did he go on loan ? Notts County

  17. His passport will be British, as he is. I understand the argument from other people. I don't agree and I can't understand how anybody can think that way. But it's a meaningless argument and I should respect their opinion either way.
  18. He's declared for Ireland. That's the only point anyone was making. In the eyes of FIFA, he is Irish. So any records he breaks won't go down as a British player breaking those records. We are not talking about his ACTUAL nationality. You are having that argument with yourself. As for the bold, you clearly don't know much about his career then. He's played for Ireland at pretty much every age level up until now. Pretty hard to do that without going to Ireland I was clearly talking about outside of football in regards to visiting Ireland. My point still stands that if he were sold for £100 mill, he would be a player, who is British, who was sold for £100 mill. Anyway, it's been pointed out that this is a pointless argument, and it is. He's a top talent, seems like a nice lad and is nuts about the Villa, that's all that matters.
  19. What I'm finding hilarious on here, is that people think you can choose what nationality you are. It's ridiculous lol How can anybody say "I consider him Irish". On what planet? He wasn't born in Ireland, he has one Irish and one English parent, for all we know he's never even BEEN to Ireland. What on earth brings people to believe he's Irish? Regardless of who he chooses to represent BECAUSE OF THE NATIONALITY OF HIS PARENTS, he still remains English. That is not something that I or anybody else can argue with.
  20. But he isn't British, is he?He's "Irish". Just like Clark is "Irish". Given on the other hand is Irish. There's a difference. I think Mike's point was that if it were to happen (putting aside the fact that Kingman was obviously being very tongue in cheek), Grealish wouldn't be recognised as the first £100m British player. Because he's not "officially" British. His birth certificate will say he is British. You know why? Because he's not Irish, at all, in any way shape or form, nor will he ever be. Sigh... did you actually read my post or any of the others after it? Nobody is saying he isn't British. Just that he won't be recognised as British in the footballing world because he's declared for Ireland No I thought it would be better to just ignore it all before I posted, I like to live life on the edge you see. My point is that regardless of who he's declared for, he himself is still British. Even if fifa recognize him as Irish, the statement "the first £100 million British player" would still be accurate.
