  1. It was instant agony, I felt a pop and I just lay on the ground waiting for someone to help. I did it almost the same way Amavi did, it was a couple of days before I could put any weight on it. It was a very small tear so it didn't require surgery. The doctor said if had been any worse then I'd have had to had like a mesh put over the tendon for it to heal over. I could comfortably walk on it after about a month, but kicking a ball was completely out of the question until the 4 months was over.
  2. I had a slight tear to my ACL a few years back. 4 months off work :/ Lets hope we have a young lad who can fill in until January as I have no hope in Richardson.
  3. Maybe we could offer him a higher wage than we're used to. Didn't we have a shit load of wages left over from what we freed up in the summer?
  4. Rumours of Chelsea having a clear out in January, Loic Remy anyone? (And no, not just because he's French. Don't be so racist)
  5. It's a bit better, but I still feel like I'm just waiting for City to score.
  6. 1. Man city is a free hit. May as well play the most promising team even if they may not be fully proven. 2. Veretout has looked to have lots of potential and shown glimpses of being great in the few times he's played so far. He was very highly rated in France and may just need some game time. First of all, in regards to Veretout not having enough game time, he never will if we don't play him? Also, I believe the reason why a lot of people want to see him play is because he was involved in something like 45% of his teams goals last season. On another note, I'm very surprised to see Sanchez in so many peoples teams. He makes a lot of mistakes and hasn't really offered much in past games, plus a lot of people slag him off in post match threads, do people believe the new manager will get something out of him? One more thing, is it just me or is anybody else certain that Westwood will be taking set pieces this weekend? When Gil is in the team he and Westwood seem to share responsibilities for set pieces. Also, Westwood's appear to have improved since Sherwood left (although it was only one game given how early he went off vs Spurs) I'd rather he didn't take any at all tbh. But I do see your point, he was driving them in with more purpose, rather than his usual floated ones.

  8. Guzan Hutton Richards Okore Amavi Gana Traore Sinclair Gil Gestede Ayew That is if Okore is fit. Anything but Lescott, anything. I also don't think I can handle seeing Sanchez play 'football' any more, plus the idea of the diamond 4 excites me.
  9. The worst 11 I've ever seen us field, barely Championship level. I'm expecting 3 or 4 to go past us tonight with our usual 0-2 weak attempts on target. Let's hope Garde can sort us out because for some reason our best players seem to be doing something to piss every manager off come game day.
  10. That's what premiership standard players do.
  11. Wouldn't it be nice if we actually got our first choice manager for a change. That is assuming that Sherwood wasn't our first choice, and that he was the only manager interested at the time.
  12. Really ? - Houllier was pretty close to a disaster in my book. Mcallister and Darren Bent saved his ass from memory. McAllister? We were virtually safe when he took over. This is absolutely not the case. Houllier had tried to implement a different style of play with the players had been left by MON. It had not been successful and had caused big splits in the squad. When Mcallister took over he reinstated the MON style 442 including putting Young back on the wing. It worked and with 2 games to go IIRC we secured safety. But it was only by implementing a system that the players were comfortable with. The last 2 wins of the season gave us a flattering league position. Actually, it was Houllier who changed style IIRC. While it's true that those final two wins bumped up our position, we were virtually safe after that victory at West Ham (which also happened to be Houllier's last game properly in charge). Houllier persisted with building from the back with the goalie rolling it out the Dunne & Collins who were not comfortable. He also kept playing Ashley Young as a number 10 it seemed almost as a bribe to get him stay even though he was far more effective on the wing. It seemed that once Houililer become ill GMac and the players decided that recalling NRC to the middle with Stan in a 442 would suit everyone a lot more. Thats how I remember us limping over the line anyway, but I am getting old these day! But back on topic - Garde - I know nothing about him but he's a good looking fella therefore get him in! Yeah but does he own a gilet?
  13. All he does is slag us off on tv, it'd be his first management job, he'd take us down, then he'd slag us off even more.
  14. So low on confidence, square passes at the back, nothing going forward. Swansea must be loving this.
  15. I have a feeling Sherwoods declaration of 'we will win' has just given Swansea their team talk. Most teams don't just roll over because the opposition manager says they should lose, usually the opposite. 3-1 Swansea.
  16. Why give him a few more games? If he loses them then we're screwed. Even if we beat Swansea, does that mean he deserves to keep his job? I don't think so. The performances are hardly inspiring, the tactical decisions baffling. Beating Swansea does not mean he knows what he's doing and be given more time. Even a broken watch is right twice a day, so even a shit manager can win a game now and then.
  17. Yup. I've just accepted relegation, it already seems too late to save this team. And after 4-5 seasons of disappointment, I'm just numb. It just feels awful, even when we've been shit I've looked forward to every game since I was a kid. Now I'm just not even bothered. I was still excited and nervous before this game. I hope this changes.
  18. I understand it now, and I've never felt it before. But my heart didn't drop at all with either goal. I just felt nothing.
  19. Wonder what the odds are on us to concede in the first 10 minutes?
  20. How many times do you think Richardson will give the ball away today? My guess is 231.
  21. I think you'll see 2 or 3, or did you mean a goal for us?
  22. I don't think it will be as bad as everybody thinks in regards to the score, 2 or 3-1. Hazard and Costa both scoring seems carved in stone with them both getting some stick about their form recently. However I do think we'll be embarrassingly bad, maybe a couple of shots on target if we're lucky.
