  1. If anyone thinks this is a stonewall penalty, then they have whatever the opposite of claret and blue specs is.
  2. Blasphemy! You want to shut down the internets or what?
  3. Love the man, he's doing a great job considering the circumstances. He's not had a settled squad yet this season, so there's a reason to hope for gradual improvement. That said, I'll call my inner Villalad and say that I don't think they're doing the 3-5-2 thing very well at all. Especially when it comes to building up the play from the back - the wing backs are too high up the pitch and rarely present themselves as options for the center back with the ball to pass to. Very often even Nakamba and Luiz were missing too and there was no one to pass to in order to advance the ball, leading to poor long passes. They've lost the ball in dangerous areas multiple times because of this and it'll be punished against better pressing teams. Obviously, it takes time to adjust to new formations, but I think they have to change some things tactically if they're looking to proceed with this formation.
  4. Exactly. Although knee sprains could take a long time to heal as well.
  5. The fact physios checked his knee out thoroughly and didn't immediately sub him should be assuring it's not a tear at the very least. I hope.
  6. They didn't have any fight or leadership on and off the pitch, they just lied down and got beat. We've seen this from past Villa teams, we know exactly what it is and how it feels. If they think they'll turn it around they're mistaken. It's not even about the players or who they could add before the transfer window closes. Club is deeply rotten.
  7. 2nd goal was a foul against the keeper tbh. But anyway, go Brentford!
  8. Between Purslow's comments and the dry Villa 'k thnx bye' tweet, the club have really shown what they think about his 'my club' bullshit., make no mistake.
  9. Purslow didn't half throw him under the bus lol Some bad blood there.
  10. I'm sure when he's washed up and spewed out he'll want another payday from the Villa. F him. Let him go to West Ham or Everton.
  11. He'll probably be as miserable as he looks in these pics even when he wins something with them. Plastic medals. F him.
  12. Wrong thread mate. He’s gone to City.
  13. Meh, just one of many. Reinvest well. Hope it's 100 mil and not some player swaps included. He can finish his career in Everton or West Ham and WBA or something after they spew him out.
  14. Good for him, although honestly hoped they'd get him a better team to play at , not a middling league 2 one. Good luck to him, hope he plays every minute of every game.
  15. I see it now. 'Jack Grealish on the ground being kicked by Villa staff for wanting to leave. Dean Smith angry af.'
  16. Well sunday was a he's leaving day and yesterday was a he's staying day, so I guess today is a he's leaving day.
  17. Some shameful posts in the last couple of days. Get it together boys.
  18. The big difference is that they could offer the most money by far. Other teams couldn't even come close to the same offer. Still, it's a big positive they've managed to keep Giannis of course. It'll be interesting to see if and how much into the luxury tax the Bucks would be prepared to go into for next season.
  19. Hopefully Edens is as successful in football as well
  20. It won't be remembered and it won't matter to most people, including Jack himself ( probably ), but it's a symptom, one of many. Throughout the tournament Southgate didn't know his best 11, or his best 14, or his best formation. His tactical approach has been incredibly one dimensional, lacking in imagination and playing down to the opposition level, instead of taking the games by the horns and using the incredible talent he's had at his disposal. This England team was the best in terms of ability and talent in the tournament, honestly it wasn't even close. I watched the Brazil and Argentina final as well - they're both significantly worse than this English team is, or could be more like. They're being dragged down by a manager who's incapable of developing them and turning them into the force they could be. I'm not english, so I don't really care about that team, apart from when Villa players are participating, but I really believe they can win multiple major trophies with the players they have. Southgate has done well to get them to the final, but playing the way they do is not how you should approach the game when you have the talent disparity in your favour. It's like Bruce taking Villa to the final against Filham and approaching the game in a similar fashion. Sure he's done well to get there, but you could be much more developed with someone who can take advantage of the immense talent at hand. You can play defensively and limp to 1-0 wins against significantly weaker opponents, you can call it results business and so on, but you're not even trying to reach that next level everyone knows you're capable of. Again - not even trying - this is such a waste.
