  1. I think I would've liked to have seen Bacuna instead of Cleverley, just to offer a bit more width and attacking presence. Pleased Cole is back from injury, let's see how long he can stay on, to be fair he still looks dangerous for those minutes he's been on the pitch.
  2. There's not much risk if we only pay a few million, it could be a kick-start for his career, which would only be good for us. If we can get the Sinclair that was at Swansea then we'd have a bargain, if he's the layabout from Man City then not so much, but it wouldn't be a big loss. I have a feeling he's a bit of a coaster and that he'd be happy to do a Stephen Ireland and just take the money, but I'd still say go for it as it's worth the risk.
  3. Bournemouth are pretty good atm, but I'll take them over another premier league side. Plus we always score loads at home...
  4. Yes, get Grealish on for the second half, he deserves it and we need it.
  5. It would liven things up, but we could do without the bad press from the racism!
  6. I hope it's better than the 0-0 snore fest at villa park last year, that was tedious! I think it'll be 4-3-3, something like: Guzan Hutton Okore Clark Cissokho Cleverley Sanchez Delph Gabby Benteke Weimann I really don't think Lambert will start Grealish, I think he probably deserves a start, but I don't think he'll get one yet.
  7. Clark still showing in the lineup on skysports?
  8. It looks about as strong a side as we can field at the moment, formation wise, it is a little conservative, but I can see it working. I'm pleased that Okore and Clark have kept their places as they have been good. I'm particularly pleased for okore after such a hard year for him after the injury. I'd love a win, but I'm going to guess a draw, 2-2. Which would be a relatively good result for us away from home. Benteke and Gabby to score.
  9. Ah, doesn't sound like its going to be soon then, I suppose could be before the end of the season, but we won't know for a while.
  10. That Bardsley tackle on Hazard yesterday was way, way worse than gabby's challenge on young. He got a yellow, which was fair, no way should Gabby have got a straight red. It's a shame we didn't have 11 men until 90 mins as I think we could have maybe sneaked another goal, but we reacted in the best way possible to the red; mainly by taking the game to man u and not panicking.
  11. It'll be great to have him back, he seemed really promising and it would be great to have an attacking duo that opponents really fear. And just another option up front. Is there an eta for his return, or is it all open ended at the moment? Would be great to see him in the new year
  12. What about Ehiogu, he's under 21 coach for Spurs (or was last I heard) no management experience but knows our club, and can coach a bit apparently...
  13. We were floated on the stock market so effectively I think that means we were available to buy, albeit as lots of small parts. I think you're right that there's a difference between that and being 'for sale', but I honestly don't think that matters when money like that is being talked about. I don't remember chelsea being for sale, or when the Glazers bought man utd. Could be wrong of course!
  14. I've also read man u have got more points from villa than any other team. All of those are simply the result of us being the worst of the few teams who have always been in the Premier League (when records began). Pretty much. At first when you see these stats you think "typical Villa" etc but the real reason is pretty mundane. Speaking of funny stats, did Luis Suarez ever score against us once? Unfortunately the rat got a close range header to draw with us under McLeish, not his finest goal ever though. Lol @ 'the Rat' didn't he dive for the penalty last year too? Think Gerrard scored it though.
  15. At the time I thought the man city oil consortium would get bored and leave within a few years. Not the case so far. I think the choice of City over us was probably as simple as; they've got Manchester in the name, everyone has heard of Man Utd, and they had the spanking new ex-common wealth games stadium which is now called the etihad. Weird to think it could've been us, I think it was fairly likely that they considered us.
  16. If Okore gets dropped there's going to be training ground drama at precisely the worst possible time. Lambert needs to show he's the boss and have Vlaar fight for the right to start. No starting place should be guaranteed to anyone. Couldn't agree more, would be madness if Vlaar walks straight back in. I agree, I didn't think I would be saying it before Vlaar got injured, but he has to work hard to displace either Clark or Okore really. A lot of people seem to think he'll be gone in Jan, I hope not though.
  17. Do people still play the Pools?
