  1. He looked great yesterday, I said I wasn't expecting him to be amazing, and that a positive debut would be good. He's surpassed my expectations. First signs seem positive, so here's hoping he can build even further from here. It must have been frustrating for him yesterday with the rest ofthe midfield (bar Sanchez who played well again) just like statues around him. Just imagine when he gets 90mins.
  2. Would help Lambert Makepeace with the boo boys. Ah yes - obscure 80's Saturday night TV cultural reference - well played Sir.Could be murder to get him here...
  3. Worse than Tonev? For me he's pretty rubbish but not quite that rubbish. EDIT: I mean he's definitively rubbish enough to send back, I don't want us to spend another penny on him, but he's not as rubbish as Tonail was.
  4. clicky This is all of Elche's games last year, if you click on a game, then on 'Team' you can see formations. He seems to have been used there either as a wide player, or behind the forwards, but in front of Sanchez. Hopefully he'll be played there for us too. I don't think he'd be as effective in a really forward role as he's more of a passer than a scorer by the looks of it.
  5. Much as i like The Addams Family, I don't see the benefit in signing Lurch even thou we already have Uncle Fester in goal Ha! I always preferred the Munsters.
  6. Hope he starts tomorrow, really looking forward to seeing him. That's not to say I'm expecting him to be amazing, but a steady, positive and promising start would be good.
  7. If I know anything about two wrongs it's that they always make a right, especially when making light of terrible historic events. Back on topic, I was quite excited when Cleverley joined as I did see him as an improvement to what we had. After half a season, I really have to admit that he's not all that great. It's a shame as I thought it might work out, but as others have commented, he does go missing for large portions of the game.
  8. I don't get this pun, is it funny because his name is Huth?
  9. With the possible exception of Gabby I think the players are intelligent enough to know that any protest is aimed at the owner/manager and not them. Ha! Poor Gabby, he's not the brightest! I see your point, I personally just don't see what it would achieve. I think the 'Lambert out' chanting is probably enough of a hint that some fans are fed up with management.
  10. I think it might raise a smile when shown on MOTD, but I'm not sure what it would achieve beyond this. It's not like the players and management are deliberately trying to lose games or not score goals. I'm so frustrated about performances, and the serious lack of goals, and the seemingly lacking drive to win, but will this really help things, or just make our players feel like even their own fans are against them?
  11. Come on Carles! Really pleased with this signing. On paper at least he is exactly what we need, can't wait for him to start.
  12. I hope Gil feels likes he's come to the right plaice.
  13. He's only 22 so he's not over the Gil... I've given myself a Chinese burn as punishment for writing that.
  14. Sounds likely, then probably more like a five man with agbonlahor and Cole dropping back when we lose possession, then spreading back to a 4 3 21 when we do have it.
  15. I think I would've liked to have seen Bacuna instead of Cleverley, just to offer a bit more width and attacking presence. Pleased Cole is back from injury, let's see how long he can stay on, to be fair he still looks dangerous for those minutes he's been on the pitch.
  16. There's not much risk if we only pay a few million, it could be a kick-start for his career, which would only be good for us. If we can get the Sinclair that was at Swansea then we'd have a bargain, if he's the layabout from Man City then not so much, but it wouldn't be a big loss. I have a feeling he's a bit of a coaster and that he'd be happy to do a Stephen Ireland and just take the money, but I'd still say go for it as it's worth the risk.
  17. Bournemouth are pretty good atm, but I'll take them over another premier league side. Plus we always score loads at home...
  18. Yes, get Grealish on for the second half, he deserves it and we need it.
  19. It would liven things up, but we could do without the bad press from the racism!
  20. I hope it's better than the 0-0 snore fest at villa park last year, that was tedious! I think it'll be 4-3-3, something like: Guzan Hutton Okore Clark Cissokho Cleverley Sanchez Delph Gabby Benteke Weimann I really don't think Lambert will start Grealish, I think he probably deserves a start, but I don't think he'll get one yet.
  21. Clark still showing in the lineup on skysports?
  22. It looks about as strong a side as we can field at the moment, formation wise, it is a little conservative, but I can see it working. I'm pleased that Okore and Clark have kept their places as they have been good. I'm particularly pleased for okore after such a hard year for him after the injury. I'd love a win, but I'm going to guess a draw, 2-2. Which would be a relatively good result for us away from home. Benteke and Gabby to score.
