  1. For me its akin to walking up and down the High Street with a Socialist worker placard proclaiming that Tories only support the rich and ignore the poor, blah, blah, blah. Apart from (probably) being totally wrong, it is totally pointless and will achieve absolutely nothing apart from making the placard carrier feel good about him/her self.
  2. I will be watching on TV but I promise to walk into the kitchen on 74 !
  3. To brag about his wealth straight after a 0-6 drubbing = embarrasing. To then blame the tweet as being some astonishing auto post from his pocket is obviously a lie = embarrasing. To then offer to go toe-to-toe with a fan that pays his wages = embarrasing. I want to like the guy - Villa fan and all that - but he's acting like an A-grade cock and deserves all the shit that is coming his way !!!
  4. Thought we were unlucky. Second goal was a foul and that was the difference between winning and losing. Bacuna was best player on the pitch and that Gabby bloke was great. I feel so positive about the future !
  5. ...... and you seriously think they'll go "ooo - a protest AND they are waving hankies - we will leave immediately" ? Really ?!!!!
  6. Are they "giving up so easily" or are they being realistic and prioritising our return to the Premiership at the end of next season ? Yes, if we found the right players, paid the right money and those players wanted to join a team about to be relegated then there was a slightly greater chance that we might stay up this season ...... maybe 15% chance as opposed to a 10% chance. However, if we signed those players and still got relegated, would it leave us in a worse position for next season or better ? In my opinion, it would have left us in a worse position and maybe even a dangerously worse position. I want to see Remi establishing a style of play and building a "team" from what we have - which he is undoubtedly doing well despite adversity - and maybe blooding one or two more youngsters before season's end. That will secure some wins this season but, more importantly, gives us some momentum and a strong foundation for next season. Don't get me wrong, I deplore those who have contributed to the mess over the last few seasons but what they are doing now to put it right seems both sensible and positive to my eyes. We have to look forward now and prepare for the challenges ahead rather than make pointless - and they are totally pointless - protests over what has happened in the past.
  7. Ayew's crass actions will not on their own get us relegated but they will force us to play Richardson or Sinclair and for that ..... he should be sacked instantly !
  8. No complaints about the manager or the ten who finished - they mostly gave their all and were the better team early doors. Ayew may be our most gifted player but if the club sacked him tomorrow then I'd applaud them for doing so. A totally selfish act that showed no consideration for his team or our club and I would seriously question his attitude after that.
  9. Best team he could pick. Once again, no faulting Remi whatever the result !
  10. Not sure there has ever been a more depressing match build up on the OS than "Richardson is battling to be fit" !!!!!!!!!
  11. Surely there is no story here. Money and "backing" is irrelevant, players will not sign for a team in our position no matter what.
  12. We played it like a training game and I'm not sure that bothers me to be honest. We kept the ball well and looked pretty comfortable in possession but they had world class strikers and we had pub football strikers and that meant we were always going to get spanked. Meaningless and nothing game and will be massively eclipsed by a 1-0 win at west Ham on Tuesday !!!
  13. I thought that ..... until I saw us play them. Now I'm just confused!!!
  14. Defence was brilliant, solid and organised. Midfield was energetic, solid and quite creative. Forwards ..... what forwards ? Great performance, full of effort but no forward threat. I said it last week and I'll say it again, we COULD do this if we invest in one or even two strikers.
  15. Nor am I - the point was that surely you don't go to VP to support the chairman or any off-pitch official ..... do you ?
  16. I was ready to give up on this division but if I was a Villa money-man then I'd go get - at any cost - a lively goalscorer because that is all we are lacking at the moment. Ayew can be that man but he insists on wandering back up the pitch to get on the ball which leaves us limited in the box. Just one player MIGHT do it but it has to be NOW !!!
  17. Need another fully committed performance today with plenty of ambition and positive football. If we still lose then at least the underlying form continues to improve. Leicester are near top of the league and if our best is not enough then its important we, as fans, don't start ripping into the players or manager for the result.
  18. Seeing him struggle to hide his passion for Villa on TV lunchtime makes it all the more painful that he is playing for the Mules and not Villa. Maybe he'll return one day !
  19. For me, going along and supporting the team doesn't equate to "being positive and simply accepting what is happening" ...... I'm not going to cheer on the chairman, owner, past managers or anybody that is ACTUALLY responsible for our demise. I'm supporting the players / the team as that's what I thought being a fan is all about !
