On a note of crazy optimism, my mood is very similar to when I paid for tickets to see last season's Round 3 (Blackpool ?) ..... nothing happening in the league, disillusioned, not even sure we'd win, etc and then look what happened a few months later !!!

Best thing about Villa this season is the fans so we should stay loud and proud no matter what the clowns on the pitch are doing. The Premier League may not miss our players but they will miss our fans for sure. As for the game ? We will win and score a few goals and we'll enjoy it ...... looking forward to it !

I'm confident we'll beat Wycombe next week ....... sort of confident anyway !

I think Remi has given up on getting any of his teams to attack ..... so he has picked a team that doesn't know how to do anything else. This could be fun and whatever the result, credit to Remi for going for it !!!

Just got back and ...... dire ! Probably two, maybe three, players who can justify wearing the shirt again after that one but the rest were gutless shite. I like Garde and I think he will eventually do very well but sweet jesus please tell me how any mentally stable individual can pick Sinclair and Richardson for their starting line-up ? Sinclair, in particular, is League One on a good day and evidently does not give a damn for the badge on the shirt, only the name on the back ..... today he was as bad as any player I have ever seen in a Villa shirt and I've seen some rum buggers ! Big up to the travelling Villa fans and, as for the Norfolk inbreeds laughing at us ..... we will not forget you !

Travelling over and hoping to see a further step forward in performance and hopefully a win but I want the performance more than anything else.

Whether we stay up or not, we need to start gelling, getting fitter and playing better and today we did that so I'll take that as progress whatever the end of season outcome. Now lets go east and start converting the improved form to serious points.

I may be in a minority of one here but we stand zero chance of avoiding relegation simply by playing garbage and sneaking the odd win .... it may happen once or twice if we are lucky but it will not be enough. We have to play well enough and keep playing well enough. Today we played well enough but were unlucky and, personally, I'd rather play well for a 1-1 right now than play garbage and fluke a 1-0. Now take that form and commitment and support to Norwich and see what it serves up!

Its a team shaped to stop Newcastle scoring ..... if it works ! No good scoring goals if the opposition score more. Priority is to stop them scoring - that gives us a chance of winning !

When you are in the position we are in, you have to suck up the b*llox that punters come out with ..... including shite from the likes of "legends" like Laursen and McGrath. Let them have their moment !

If we get minimum TWO wins from next four games, we should spend in January and go for it. If we don't win two games (at least) then we should spend nothing, offload anybody who will not feature in the Championship (for whatever reason - age, salary, etc) and start building for next season. The irony might be that making next season the focus and taking some of the pressure off might actually get them playing more freely and winning games !!!

Today was a front foot team playing a back foot game and that made no sense to me. Most of our midfield today were talented on the ball but lightweight off it ..... they were not strong enough ..... men against boys, etc. We really could do with bolstering the squad with tougher players for these sort of games. We really need to have options like Baker, Gardner, even Cissokho for when we need to roll the sleeves up.

Stay cool folks ..... one point from Man City & Everton is more than any team in our position should expect to get. Key is how we perform against weaker teams starting next week. Playing 4-5-1 was right but including Grealish in there was wrong. Jack is nothing unless we are playing on the front foot and that was never going to happen today. Gana and Veretout were poor and Richardson hugely weak at full back. Positives were Hutton who was decent but most of all Ayew who was a shining light throughout. If we do survive this season, Ayew will be THE main man !

Brilliant news ..... we only have half a dozen players who can last a game. Most start fading after ten minutes and are completely knackered by 60 minutes. Gabby can either do one or - hopefully - knuckle down and get back the fitness he needs because he looks like a fat **** and plays like a fat **** ..... would love to see him shed some pounds and rediscover the pace that commentators still talk about but which went missing years ago ! PS: Perfectly summed up by KMac declaring Traore is "fatigued" when he's only played about half an hour in the entire season so far and spent most of that on his ass !!!

I don't blame Westwood for coming off last night but he is a lightweight and the issue there is ALL our midfielders are lightweight ..... almost to the point of embarrassment. Players like Grealish simply don't know how to tackle or even challenge for the ball so you've got to have some tough, grafting ball winners out there and we don't have any !
