well his defending ability is certainly of a much lower level than his attacking. I don't understand people picking him in lineups over Hutton at RB when we already look shaky.

Bacuna is better suited further up field to effect the game, he can cover RB but you can see it's not really his best position. It's fine having 1/2 utility players in a Squad but that's why they're utility/squad players...these are average players who operate in 2/3 positions & don't excel in specific roles. play players in their best positions, square pegs round holes ect

Nothing wrong with 4-2-3-1...with the right players it can be a very attacking system.I hope we play more a 4-3-3 with a holding/deep laying centre mid then Gueye & Veretout our all action mids.

People need to move on with the whole Richards playing at RB thing. Every single time he's been interviewed he's said one of the reasons he signed for us was due to the chance given to play CB. Unless absolutely necessary he'll play CB for the foreseeable.

We've been playing Bacuna on the right-wing all preseason, I'd say another winger is quite a big priority. If we play 433 he wont fit so easily though. I think we will eventually go 4-3-3...my point being if we do id expect Ayew to play on the right side of that. Gil/Gabby can also play in the false 10/inside right forward role. Bacuna can even operate there & also in a 4-4-2. Adama is a winger/inside forward who plays right side, it's just to me we are right side heavy as it is. Unless we do in fact play 4-4-4-2/4-4-1-1 (personally I don't think those formations cut it anymore) but who knows. Could mean someone is going to be surplus to requirements...Gabby?

This makes no sense. How did you feel when the players you identify with replaced other villa players when they signed? Aston Villa has been around for a long time and it doesn't feel like your club because some shit players who were here for a few years have been replaced? Makes no sense to me.And they were absolute shit. In 23 years supporting the club they were close to being the worst collectively I've had the misfortune to watch. I never really warmed to Benteke despite his obvious talent, Delph I maybe did but the way he left was a perfect bookend. The rest can go **** themselves. Utterly hopeless. Exactly. There's nothing from the last few years to miss. Same for me as well, worst I've ever seen since I've been supporting the club. The next step for this group of players would of been relegation. The squads needed ripping a part, may back fire....maybe it'll work. But what was certain with last seasons playing squad & the loss of two key players would of put us on par with possibly the worst team to play in the league...I still believe we've lucked out the past 2-3 seasons, Benteke being the difference. We need a huge overhaul, 1-2 "better" players a season just wouldn't of cut it. Time will tell but I'm more confident of us accumulating a better points tally than I was a month ago.

I read that one of his strengths is his link up play. Is he as athletic as he looks? Very much so. Dropped deep alot in the first half and worked hard. Second half made some intelligent runs. Bit of a nuisance Nuisance is a good word. Can imagine opposition players being frustrated by him.
