Completely agree Davis biggest problem is that we set ourselves up based on Watkins off the ball on both sides of it, movement on it and pressing off it, you can say that Davis holds it up better or that Davis wins headers or whatever but that's not how we seemingly want to play I feel for him cos I think he's a good player but we're not going to set ourselves up around him, he's not good enough for that

Yeah he has The frustration with him has been that he's a decent player when he wants to be a decent player, at his lowest this season his lack of professionalism has warranted the stick that he got Again tonight he showed he can play

I would lazily guess that there are more than a fair few who don't understand football beyond what they see them do on the ball He's genuinely one of the best off the ball players I've seen at villa, never stops, his 1 man pressing reminds me of alexis sanchez Even the one miss tonight, back post off his thigh, that's great reactionary technique, it's a harder ball than it looks due to its height and he's done everything right, it's great play by him and even better from pickford, if he somehow found some luck he'd be incredible

They're nothing special are they? The mega rich owners, spent a lot of money, carlo as manager, that great CL chasing start to the season. .. And they're just not that good, still need a lot of money spent on them, will be interesting to see if we're in the same central midfielder market as them cos sigurdsson and Andre Gomes are tosh and need replacing and Delph is half broken

But surprised at how many people didn't think he would start given it was everton Best he's played this year, played alright last week too, its good management from Smith, baggies was an "easy" game (that we obviously didn't win) tonight was vs his old club., now he just need to keep it going for 5 more games

Not just the win, created loads, could have been out of sight in the first half, great game overall Didn't think there was a single part of that game where we were struggling or under any real pressure, not an easy game but one where we definitely played well for long periods

100% this Everton had a decent 5 to 10 mins, not even great just good, and the knicker wetters came out Our history tells us to do it but we don't half get nervous as a fan base

The fact that it's 1-1 and even, the bench is poor Or more likely his seeming general philosophy that subs are largely detrimental, maybe due to them getting up to speed maybe for some other reason, he doesn't seem to think a sub will automatically make us better which to be fair isn't always wrong Bring Davis on and we will be better... I think Everton have grown in to it a little but the game is still even They have 2 shots on 5 mins and the demand to make a sub come up, seeing the game differently
