  1. A mention of Dawson on Twitter but no doubt just another BS rumour. The whole market is quiet at the moment,
  2. By that logic surely no-one would ever leave City. City would subsidise it just as they did with Adebayor and others.
  3. PB I get your point but we also have a sizeable income to pay for the ongoing wage costs so it's not imperative that there is a re-sale value at the end of the contract. The issue of sustainability is more about having a manageable cost (mainly wage) income ratio so that we can make an operating profit.
  4. Do you really want us to be making the sort of signings West Ham are making? I certainly don't
  5. There's a guy on Twitter (freelance Journo) claiming that we're ready to bid £5m for James McCarthy. Would be great if true but would think he's worth double that. Most likely it's BS.
  6. I've no dillusions about Villa's current standing and profile but to say Fulham are a better club is nonsense. You're talking about a club that has won F all - ever - and play out of a League 1 ground. London is not for everyone, if he has a family he might prefer to live in a few acres of Warwickshire countryside. Anyway I can't see Hangelaand here (good player though).
  7. I've not seen Stephens so will not pass judgement, the only thing I would say is that I hope he is more physically mature and aggressive in his play than most of the other youngsters we have.
  8. It's pretty hard to tell where anyone is playing at the moment. They don't appear to know either.
  9. ----------------Guzan----------- Lowton Vlaar Baker Bennett -----Westwood Bannan--------- Holman --------------------Gabby ------------Bent --- Benteke ------ Priority new signings 1. CM instead of Bannan 2. New attacking wide player 3. New CB that can also fill in LB if needed
  10. Unfortunately a lot of fans (well people in general actually) are unable or unwilling to think about long term. This probably doesn't set them up very well for life's challenges in general.
  11. He was our worst player against Spurs, and thats saying something. His touch is OK but his passing is poor and he seems to have no physical influence at all. Just seems to stroll around.
  12. How is Hogg doing these days. Is he at Watford?
  13. The good thing about Holman is that he tries to make things happen, he attacks aggressively. Whether that be closing down defenders, running at them or attempting long shots or difficult through passes. Doesn't always come off but he's brave enough to try and overall he's effective. Must be worth £4-5m in the current market so has been a good signing from old ginger balls.
  14. Some great posts on here today guys. Had to double check I was logged onto VT until I saw the inevitable Morpheus intervention,
  15. Would you like a donut or a meringue?
  16. Lambert set up not to lose this game and we didn't ...job done. I don't think its Lambert's normal style to be negative but I think he was accutely aware of the circumstances with Harry's arrival and also what happened previously at Southampton.

    Who did Wenger rest exactly?
  18. To add, those who are most unhappy as fans are probably the same that hate the bloke who lives across the road who has a better car and a prettier wife.
  19. Good post and pretty much mirrors my own thoughts. However it has been a miserable and disheartening few years after the highs experienced under MON. I like what Lambert is doing, I would even go as far as saying relegation would not stop me supporting him as I believe we will be in good shape in 5 years time (i.e. top half Prem, competing for European places) under his ongoing leadership.

We expected 0 points against Utd and City and guess what? We have 0 points. Nothing has really changed since we won (unexpectantly) at Sunderland. We were unlucky against Utd but the signs were encouraging. As stated above, period between now and end of year is key.
  21. Really like Westwood however I can see Barca coming in for him as they'll need a replacement for Xavi soon
  22. Does it not matter to see a young, hungry team playing with passion and giving 2 moments of pure joy (even if short lived). It's those moments that matter and why we love the game, right?
