  1. I admire your optimism and liked your post for that. 2 defeats in 13 sounds really good. But it's still not proving good enough sadly.
  2. It's also a means to viewing unlimited breasts and vaginas... Surely it's not just me that surfs risqué??
  3. I thought Snodgrass had cracked ribs Mr Bauer? I'm not sure after Saturday's showing that I want a half crocked player in my starting eleven this time. Not sure I could stand the arse clenching of Hutton at centre back!! Agree with Davis up top. The team on Saturday is so tricky to call, it's a bugger's muddle.
  4. That bit in bold for me, is like every game since Bruce came in as manager. The problem I have with Bruce's Villa is that there is the perceived predictability about how we might set up, how we might perform. Indicators from previous games lead the supporters (some of us anyway) to be nervous about what will happen. We don't get to build confidence as a fan base, let alone any chance the players get. That's all subjective of course, I can only speak for myself. My issue with Villa at the moment is your bit in bold... I would never bet on Bruce's Villa because I just don't know or can't predict what kind of Villa is going to turn up in the next game. I can however virtually guarantee though that a win doesn't always leave me feeling like we've won. Does that make sense?
  5. My perception and lack of science jjaacckk91is that our 'upturns' in results and form are not sustained enough to get us to where we need to be, and where the Club aspires to be. Our patchy inconsistent spells seem to hamper our upward trend, and we have had a couple of desperate runs - January into February this calendar year still rankles with me. Different season though, so not really fair anymore to batter manager with it. But have the lessons been learned? I'm not sure.
  6. I see a number of posts indicating that we have the 'best team' in the division and should be tearing the place up. Likewise, I see posts indicating that we have the most expensively assembled squad in the division... the best squad. Losing Terry shouldn't mean our season implodes. If it does, then we have become incredibly insular and small. We are not a one player team. We are not a one defender defence. For the record, I never expected Terry to feature in every game. Far from it. The 'ever present' nature of his tenure this season has actually surprised me. Preston have an injury crisis - we don't. We SHOULD be capable of dealing with this. So what is the actual truth here? Is the squad deep enough... is the team really GOOD enough?
  7. Maybe part of the deal while we suckle on the parachute payments? See what happens in a year or two's time.
  8. ? When he was at Blackburn, we were quite formidable ourselves weren't we? Then he went abroad, and we circled round the plughole and followed Wigan out of the door.

    Keinan Davis

Chin up lad... get back on the horse and go again.
  10. November's early fireworks up north seemed to fizzle out into a damp squib inside our own backyard. 'Just one of those days...' or 'you can't beat them all etc.' And added into all of that turmoil against Wednesday was the manifestation of two credible injury excuses going forward. So, for certain there will be a shuffling of the pack... a different eleven and bench. Who will come in, who will get the boot for extra gym time? Can our rabble of 'human beings' deliver a result down Shepherds Bush way? Surely it's Elphick over Samba... surely to god.
  11. Sunderland may have a new manager bounce... Be ready for that. Agree with Trent, next three, go for it... But I'll add my own spin, go for it, or face the hysteria...
  12. So come on then all you experts... Let's have it... What's going to happen on Saturday with this game? With November off to a cracking start, will Bruce's boys send us off to our bonfire parties with a smile on our faces? I hope so, for his sake. I'll open the bidding that Hutton will be retained in the starting 11. Probably an unchanged side across the bat.
  13. Funny you should say that TRO... All the guff in here about giving heads a wobble, slow internet connections and hand wringing in the pre-match thread decries from the moment and is every bit as childish and blush inducing as when the muck is flying in the other direction. Having had our fingers burned with repeated false dawns under this manager, people (including myself) were quite valid in second guessing how it was going to go. Sorry folks, I'm still on the fence with Bruce and not once sung his name. A good distance yet from convinced about the guy from a footballing perspective - there is no consistency in performance of the team or a plethora of individuals. That said, very happy with THIS performance and of course the result. Yeah, I'll give my head a wobble if the improvement continues. But for all you 'regular posters with fast internet connections,' you had an opportunity here to take the high ground (insert Obi Wan Kenobi gif here). Instead, you went all Anakin. I still have no idea what to expect from this team either home or away. What will we see on Saturday? Will we see a Wolves performance? A Fulham performance? Or maybe somewhere in between like Blues? Come on, if y'all so smart. Thanks all for making me lose the winning feeling. Thanks all for making it feel like I have to smile whilst sticking a fork in the back of my hand.
  14. Back to square 1 maybe... But wouldn't our parachute payments be re-set if that happened, enabling us to 'go again??' Not ideal, but might quell the FFP paranoia for a while and enable us to have a more measured tilt at getting it right next time. Maybe a yo-yo is what we need? Or maybe not... just putting it out there.
  15. Clicked like for the second appearance of 'weekend' in self deprecating stylee...
  16. Can we call him 'Bucky?' There's almost a ready made chant in there for him...
  17. He needs to pick his strongest available team. No sentiment for Hutton at left back. If Hutton deserves a place, maybe he should start ahead of Elmo?
  18. Cameron McGeehan of Barnsley. Was epic on FM when I was at Luton... Captain Marvel (with a penis instead).
  19. But seemingly 'we' (the royal we as a club) already have an excuse for this game. Injured/hobbled Kodge... With all his dismissal of 'hysteria,' I'm afraid the manager has left himself very little wiggle room. He either delivers, or he doesn't.
  20. Another 'must not lose' game for the manager. So we'll set up to take a draw, and will be met with jingoistic jizzles when it occurs.
  21. Would you shake the hand of an employee there if you chose to visit?
  22. Seen a few comments on here about how FFP is actually still all about maintaining a monopoly of achievement for the Top Four in the Premier League, and I offer in a roundabout cock-eyed way that it's the EFL seeking to keep hold of 'big clubs' in the CH as much as they can to swell their own coffers through offering those clubs (like us) on TV. I see what the rules are, I don't fully understand them, but my opinion of the sentiments I see, and the 2+2 ready reckoner of what might happen is this... I've realised I don't miss the PL that much - certainly not as much as I thought I would. Maybe it was those last 4 or 5 years of plug-hole circling that has done that. It's supposed to be about the fans. Fine us... Let them fine us... take points off us... an let's rebel. I'm my own man, grant you, but I'm more than prepared to turn my back on Football full stop. Simple as that. I won't go... won't subscribe... won't buy advertised goods. (For 17 years, I've never bought ANYTHING that sponsors Chelsea... scum bag club, with scum bag fans). As Rubber Duck once said in Convoy... Piss on them... and piss on their law.
