  1. Nothing ever got changed by saying bugger all. Call me Mary if you wish. Past caring
  2. Those flags when they score really do rankle with me. Surely they are tantamount to crowd incitement?
  3. It's also particularly about saying to the world 'it's okay to spy on people.' Not Mary Whitehouse at all... Sheesh, I view porn, I love Game of Thrones... But Paco Rabanne is advertising a product and promoting criminal activity and a clear gender double standard. Shouldn't be allowed.
  4. Paco Rabanne advert that is currently doing the rounds. I've complained to my MP and to the Advertising Standard Agency (ASA). Young male seemingly blissfully unaware that behind a two-way/false mirror, he is being spied upon by a large number of young females. They watch him strip naked, all giggly and girlish like you would expect, and unseen, they obviously get a full frontal. Absolute sexist drivel. No way would that be allowed with reversed genders. Voyeurism like that is actually a sexual offence in this country. And there is Paco Rabanne clearly promoting the act. There's also an over 50s dating agency where the advert quite overtly shows a lady squeezing a man's bottom. How's that for cack-handed promotion of sexual harassment. On the subject of the Rabanne advert, I've had a response from the ASA that they are already reviewing the advert. It shouldn't piss me off, but it does, because it's a clear double standard on acceptable portrayal of gender and it is clearly voyeurism that is a criminal offence (if you're a man).
  5. What happened to Obi Wan Kenobi's lightsabre after Vader felled him in Episode 4? Was Maz Kanata there for that too?
  6. Well... can we make it 12 from 12? Given the on-going crisis of injuries that is emerging, the gaffer seems to be using the 'best players' at his disposal with limited rotation. That might be a good thing... might bite him on the arse, who knows? I have been pleasantly surprised with three full wins in 7 days so far and look ahead with positivity to see what we can get from Elland Road. On paper, it's the tougher ask of the 4 fixtures from QPR, Sunderland, Ipswich and Leeds. Hopeful that we can nab a valuable point up there. I dare not be greedy and demand another win. I just hope we don't crumble like England's 2nd innings. Come on Villa...
  7. I tell you what, if it wasn't for the winning, there'd be nothing to smile about Three wins in 7 days. Rave into the joy fantastic... get down... boogie with your hands in the air, like you just don't care... 9 points from 9 points, with a new Star Wars film just around the corner too. Come on Villa... get the sword ready for Leeds as well. Do it... do it now... Oh yeah... Adomah MOTM, Good for Bruce and Average for the Reffington.
  8. Referee was good in my eyes. Voted Samba as man of the match - played much better than I had convinced myself he would. Hutton did well too. Voted 'good' for Bruce... two wins in several days, why wouldn't you? Good crowd, but we weren't very vocal. I think we've played more poorly than that showing. Maybe it was because we never really felt threatened by a struggling Sunderland team. We gave the ball away a lot (and that happens in far too many games), but Sunderland didn't seem equipped to make anything of it, despite the possession stats. Given that they were 2-0 down, they could have crumbled... But they carried on and did well to get themselves back in the game. And the last ten minutes were uncomfortable for us as fans, and no doubt the manager too. Ipswich will be a much tougher ask given the respective current standing of Ipswich versus Sunderland. I kind of think Bruce should have made rotational changes against Sunderland instead of seeing what he might have to change against Ipswich. I guess that's what the manager is paid to do. Up The Villa - happy with that win.
  9. Not sure if I fancy Samba for three games in 7 days to be fair. Proper scuppered if Davis gets a knock as well. There is currently no depth/plan B for striking is there? It was a cack-handed way of giving Bruce almost a free pass this week. If other are more comfortable about the current situation, fair play. I'm a bit nervous is all.
  10. Agreed - and with Ispwich to follow not long after, our current injury situation means that whatever is left for us to choose from has to be used sparingly, wisely etc. O'Hare/Grealish will surely feature this week?
  11. We should be buoyed by the performance and result at Loftus Road over the weekend, but obviously at some point, our injury situation is going to tell... I am not 'expecting' many wins at all for a few weeks until we get some of our tools back in the selection box. I think we are more than good enough not to lose this one in particular, but I can't 'expect' a win because of the players we have out, and it's a second game in a few days. Good luck Villa
  12. Well, we now do seriously appear to have an injury crisis. It's like somebody has played domino rally with our forwards. Going to be an interesting few weeks this. Great result on the face of it at Loftus Road... especially showing the character to come from a goal behind and withstanding the inevitable triumvirate of billy-big-bollock players battering against a resolute Villa defence late on. Was a fun evening on Saturday after that... and nice to wake up on Sunday and smile all over again. Yeah, been a good weekend all told. Good old Albert - I liked the touch of class he showed in the penalty (kind of Yorke-esque) and his neat finish off the post was well taken too. Seems he didn't celebrate (and he is a cute celebrator) either goal given his youthful support of QPR and respect for them. So respect to him for honouring that. Bring on the Mackems. Surely we can pile on more woe for them? Surely?
  13. Indeed - still not tempted at the moment. New Route just come out for Train Sim so will play that instead. Might pick BF2 up in a sale when all the fuss has died down.
  14. Resisted the temptation so far. I have a bad feeling about it.
  15. The peer pressure on impressionable younglings is bad enough in society without having to push 'must have... I need' items as well in a game. I remember how proud I was to have a pair of Simod trainers for my 12th birthday. Only for the richer kids to mock them for not being Reeboks or Nike. (I was fifteen before I could afford full ankle depth Reeboks with my pocket money)
  16. Read the thing about matchmaking newbs against the high rank players with the best weapons. That sucks if that is happening. Nothing more demoralising than being cannon fodder for the first few hours to make me just switch off and go and polish my rocket instead. Utter, utter words removed.
  17. 'Welcoming' conjures all sorts of different interpretations, at least in my mind anyway... Can you clarify your version of 'welcoming' please? Particularly in the context of the West Bromwich lady you encountered thereabouts... I put it to you sir, that you have the 'gift' and for some inexplicable reason, the female of the species just cannot help themselves in your company...
  18. Faux outrage is quite chic these days, especially in the social-meeeeja circles. Everyone chips in with comments about all these accusations of sexual harassment without knowing the first fact about what has actually happened. And yet, quite happy to write people out of history before they've even been charged with anything, let alone proven innocent and guilty. Someone only has to say 'that person might have touched my willy and I didn't even realise it until now,' and there's a witch-hunt on Sky, BBC and Facebook.
  19. Yeah, I heard up to 100 episode scrips had been storyboarded for a Live Action TV series. As Star Wars 'Underworld,' I would expect that be a face off between smugglers and Bounty Hunters. Would love to see Naa Shadaa in film - I imagine it a bit like the original Bladerunner in atmosphere. I think the new trilogy that Rian Johnson has been awarded will be Old Republic era - be prepared for amazing 'Lord Of The Rings' scale Jedi v Sith battles - the contrast of light blue sabres against a swathe of red ones. The Sacking Of Coruscant, and Malgus The Betrayer... and a bit of swticheroo Revan for good measure.
  20. Love Star Wars, love Star Wars games, The Old Republic on PC cost me my marriage such was the addiction. Loved the first game - real eye candy and it played quite simple, which is good for me knocking on 43 years old. I'll probably skip this game, despite tempted by the campaign and canon allegedly included in it to help fill some gaps. I can't justify the money on it just for the campaign though. Will wait for a sale. Very reluctant to participate in ANYTHING with EA associated with it. Money grabbing wallet raping words removed. They changed the whole dynamic with The Old Republic with micro-transactions and terribly banal grinds due to a lack of new content. They lost a lot of their game base within three months because of the slow release of content. I won't pay to win, especially on a game that costs 50 sheets. No word removing way. I can see how it'll be... I'll be there on the front line, second best in the quick draw against a nipper with lightning quick reactions. His daddy has bought him all the P2W goodies and what do I get? Some smug victory emote jig stamping on my corpse. **** off.
  21. Yes, I would say Alien - that's one of them 'Engineer's ships' we were introduced to in Prometheus. But that big thing in space deffo looks like the original Nostromo.
  22. I clicked like for this moment alone GH... Said in my head in the Kamara style! The rest of your big post, I can agree with parts of it, but in some places I wonder if you had just had a row with your partner/missus etc?
  23. With a name like Bree, Bruce probably senses that he's merely stinking the place out...
