I wonder how much better we'd look with two proper forwards? Bailey blows hot and cold and we all know Watkins isn't it.

Solid half. Say what you will about Tottenhams form of late but we're playing against the likes of Romero, Son, Kane and Conte away from home. We're clearly set up with the intention of dampening their attack whilst biding our time and looking for a gap. Let's see what the 2nd half brings. I can see Watkins or Bailey getting a goal on the break.

You can tell this is to counterattack the width Tottenhams wingbacks give them. The amount of times I've seen us exposed at the back post when playing against a back 5 is crazy. Emery master class.

The 6-4-0 formation is an interesting one.

The only thing I know for sure is that Martinez has his flaws and his weaknesses, some of which are exacerbated by our new style of play. Will we find a shotstopper as good as him? Unlikely, and it'll hurt, but that's not to say we can't find a replacement who has better distribution as one example. Unfortunately I don't want to spend time researching different goalkeepers to score internet points but I'm confident we can replace Martinez with a little luck. Either way I hope he stays!

I'm not saying we should sell him. Far from it. But if we do I don't think its comparable to situations like when Grealish, Benteke, Milner, etc. left. It'll be very, very difficult but he is replaceable and we have the funds and intention to do just that.

I think because Emery has such a distinct style of play, and we now have owners who are not **** around, I'm confident we can find a suitable replacement who in some areas may actually be an improvement (passing/distribution).

I love him and I'd be sad to see him go but he's very replaceable imo.

He's a backup keeper who was not brought in with Emery's tactics in mind. What were people expecting exactly?

Never been a fan of Southgate as manager but unless there is an obvious replacement (Tuchel, Poch, whoever) it makes sense to keep him in for the Euros. Fair play to Gareth and the team because they played very well against France and it's not a given that any old replacement will instantly see us improve further.

Here's a crazy idea. What if they were instructed, after a fairly decent break, to take it easy to avoid any unwanted injuries? Is that really so hard to consider? The evening was about Whittingham, not Villa or Cardiff. -
