  1. My brother has very good table manners and will not speak with food in his mouth. However, he eats sandwiches like a dog eats a hot chip and makes so much noise eating anything, I think he'd somehow make less noise if he ate with his mouth open.
  2. At least our U21 side can batter them in the Papa John's Trophy now
  3. I thought the 200 mile round trip every other week or so was bad enough
  4. Suzanne Bakker of Ajax is being let go despite winning the title last season and getting to the Champions League quarter finals this season, I think she'd be good.
  5. Attendance really depends on the opposition. Against Arsenal at VP a few weeks ago, I think the attendance was around 10-11,000, though they always bring massive support. At the Bescot we usually get 2-3,000 attending, though that can double depending on the opposition. Although I only went to about half the games last season, it still feels like more people are attending this season despite the struggles.
  6. Listened to Miri Taylor after the game and she said that she hoped her perforformance last night would kick-start her Villa career. Interesting phrasing with 3 games left, could that be an indicator that she may be staying? I believe we were after her in the summer?
  7. I'm hoping for a Homer at the Bat style end to City's season since that's more likely that the FA dealing with their 115 charges. Grealish going to prison for all the unsolved crimes in Birmingham. DeBruyne visiting the Manchester Mystery Spot and is never seen again.
  8. I believe we're out of the race for the top 4 now. Fingers crossed for 5th.
  9. This victory belongs to @whitsend. A deeply superstitious man, he did indeed give up his ticket and possibly the best seat in the Holte End for the greater good and Villa have been richly rewarded. I'm sad I didn't get one of those awful two team scarves though...
  10. We need real investment. For the price of one decent male bench warmer, you could buy an entire squad of female players. I'm not saying that to belittle women's football, but that's the truth. The fact we've lost Hampton to Chelsea's bench and no doubt Daphne to Arsenal's bench, I think shows that maybe money could help retain players here, it's not all about game time.
  11. If Ajax is anything to go by, they only seem to have one tier of shirt available and I can't spot any different between what the players are wearing and the shirt I bought. No air holes or different textures like with Villa's current replica and pro versions.
  12. Looked like he only realised after seeing the name already in the book
  13. You know, Villa have won every game I've ever been to, if anyone wants to give up a ticket, for the greater good?
  14. Villa are making it feel like Ajax have an extra player or two on the pitch.
  15. True, and I don't like to speculate on player's personal lives but going off social media posts, I think she may be in a relationship with Mayling. 33 is still young! Take that back!
  16. I just fear we will lose Daly and or Dali in the summer.
  17. "Every week I follow the boys in claret and blue and red and white. We even conquered Europe in 1971, 1972, 1973, 1982 and 1995..." Doesn't flow quite so well
  18. I tried to get a ticket via Ajax but their allocation is sold out.
  19. Basically a new director of football came in during the summer, upset a lot of players, let top players go, brought in complete unknowns to replace them and then hired a manager who had never really achieved anything of note and had never managed at a particularly high level and was known for playing defensive football, which is something Ajax has never played. A complete recipe for disaster and it proved to be. After fans rioting, the club finally sacked the director of football as they realised that he was the instigator of the problems and they gave the manager a little more time. The players were happier and the players who had left the club celebrated the sacking on social media. Ultimately the manager, Maurcie Steijn could not turn things around and appeared tactically inept, so he was replaced by club hero John van 't Schip and things have been on the up ever since. I would expect Villa to win both legs but the league table doesn't tell the whole story of Ajax's season so far.
