  1. Bit of a strange performance today, especially when you'd expect him to be playing for a new contract
  2. Inconsistency. I remember I was at a League Two club's stadium once speaking to a random bloke, after a match. They'd just lost. He said "the thing is, if the players were more consistent, they would be playing in a higher league." Makes me think of some of Lambert's signings. Yes there are bargains to be had, and the likes of Bacuna and Westwood who have been signed for low fees are undoubtedly good players. But getting players who will perform week in, week out requires a financial setup we unfortunately do not possess at the moment.
  3. Every pass of his seemed laboured for some reason. Was the same when he came on during the Newcastle game.
  4. Why is he signing it tomorrow? Where has this come from?
  5. You raise a good point. If the current budget system continues, are the best players signed under the "young and hungry" policy even going to want to stay?
  6. As much as the horror stories of the Vincent Tans of the world worry me, I don't think we will ever do anything more than exist in the Premier League under Lerner.
  7. I refuse to believe there's a manager out there who would a) do a better job and be attracted to joining Villa in it's current financially lacking state. I wonder if West Brom, Cardiff, and Fulham are pleased they sacked their manager?
  8. I am pro-Lambert. But why he persists with the likes of Sylla and Baker is beyond me. A few players had shockers today, but that isn't the manager's fault necessarily. Some of those players however are a shocking indication of the financial strains we're under.
  9. Inexcusable. Perfect opportunity to keep going with the momentum and go into the Man U game with a bit of confidence. Also, the reason the commentators keep mentioning that we're a young side? Because it's what the media team at Villa constantly post about. In their mind it excuses the shower of s**t we regularly witness.
  10. This is like an exaggerated version of the polar opposite of the Chelsea performance. I'm usually pretty cynical but I really expected us to win this one,
  11. Where on earth is that picture from??!
  12. A 'key pass' sounds disconcertingly vague
  13. Current articles you see when on BBC Sport's Football page: Moyes hopes win can be turning point 'After so much misery, Moyes deserves best night' Man United win 'buys Moyes more time' Van Persie treble inspires United Is it possible to replace a managerial legend? 5. Surely that's a bit unnecessary?
  14. Won a tenner as I did have a feeling they'd sneak through. The difference between this Man U side and what we've seen in the past is unreal, though. The next stage will be tough for them.
  15. We'll be hearing about that RVP hat-trick for ages now

  17. My telly just tried to turn itself off. Maybe it's one of those smart TV's trying to save me the grief
  18. No urgency at all, which we ironically had when we were lower down last season
  19. There is an annoying unintentional "happy to be here" attitude on the official Twitter
