    Relegation

We are seventeenth and fighting relegation. We have been in this position for most of the season and if we don't get a result against Sunderland are in dire trouble. There has been little or no progression on the league table so if you view that as progress then good luck. haha - I'm not surprised that you deliberatley miss the point but which of the statistics above do you disagree with? We are clearly progressing but it doesnt suit your argument to admit that Of course we are in trouble, no one is disputing that but the progress is also clear to see - I just hope (and expect) that we can maintain our from for the last four games of the season and if so our run of form bodes well for next year The trouble with this is the trend doesn't really mean anything. You were putting a similar chart up just before our horrendous run over Christmas to demonstrate the "progress" being made and then look what happened. We were apparently clearly progressing at that point and then proceeded to go on one of the most atrocious runs I have ever witnessed, something that your charts didn't suggest was about to occur. I am desperate for us to stay up and really hope Lambert's tenure and his so-called "project" turn out to be the revolutionary approach that leads us back up the table in a sustainable fashion, but I worry that even if we do avoid the drop, without significant investment, next season will be very similar to the current one. A trend I would like to see is the points return compared to level of investment, going back a number of seasons - I think this may be more indicative of the progress we are making, or not.
  2. There are often numerous conspiracy theories about most of the hundreds of notorious world wide events. How do you go about filtering what you see as a 'good conspiracy theory' from the thousands of misguided, sometimes malicious pieces of crap, which on inspection are often self conflicting or conflicting across conspiracy theories? That's a tremendous amount of research or naivety. You didn't quote the first part of the sentence, and have entirely misunderstood me. I don't believe a word of the link, I just enjoy reading about the secretive machinations of imagined shadowy organisations. It is fascinating what some people come up with; perhaps they should turn their hand to writing thrillers. I came across the link on Twitter, not during any exhaustive research, and it piqued my interest as I had not long ago read an article about the death of the American sniper whose name escapes me, and was the founder of Craft International. When someone else posted a photo of the guys being wildly speculated about I thought I would add to the madness. I'm sorry that seems to have upset you. No upset, we're cool, I hope. It was a genuine question. You've probably guessed that I'm not a big fan of conspiracy theories! It's just that I've heard enough of them that turned out to be nothing but time wasting bullsh!t, to be distinctly turned off by them. I'd guess that 1 in 1000 might have an element of credence, but if someone 'cries wolf' 999 times, the 1000th is bound to be passed over. I'm not a fan of passing on chain emails (formally letters) either. You know, the ones that say 'send this on to 6 of your friends and you'll avoid bad luck'. What a crock of sh!t. Yes, of course we are. I wanted to assure that I wasn't being misrepresented as a tinfoil-hat wearing nutjob who believes that the moon landings never happened and got a little over-defensive, my apologies. To clarify, I enjoy the intrigue of some of the theories without actually lending any weight to their veracity. I treat them as fiction is probably the best way of putting it. I can see why they could anger some though, when they result in distress like that caused to those guys who the internet erroneously identified as bombing suspects and ended up on the front page of the New York Post, or the family of that poor missing student, a line is crossed. As for the chain-letters/emails I am in full agreement, they are willfully malicious and cause genuine angst for many; especially younger people. I remember a segment about chain-letters on Blue Peter back in the day, where Anthea Turner destroyed a letter and broke the chain to demonstrate to panicking kids across the land that nothing disastrous was about to befall them if they didn't pass it on.

  4. Was sent this today and it made me wonder why this guy above has not been questioned Uploaded with ImageShack.us There are some interesting theories about these mysterious guys, including links to the American sniper who was recently shot dead here: willyloman.wordpress.com/2013/04/17/boston-bombing-craft-international-trained-mercs-at-bombing-location-before-attack/ Disclaimer: I'm not suggesting that any of the stuff in the link is plausible, but I do enjoy a good conspiracy theory. Edit: Sorry, posting on my phone and have messed up the link.
  5. We used to call them casers too.
  6. Maybe my knowledge is a little out of date but thinking back 8 years I remember there being quite a few gangs - having an unfortunate overspill of dullards from Sparkbrook and the moronic 'Billesley boys'. Perhaps it has changed. But I still don't see how it's any better than Northfield. I have never had a junkie nearly puke brown sick on me at 9 O'Clock in the morning since moving from Northfield to Hall Green!
  7. I don't think he is on here but a Villa supporting mate of mine ran today. Raised over 6 grand for Acorns. I'm just waiting to hear his time now.
  8. I saw huge improvements in speed after installing an SSD on my laptop, I'd never go back now. The laptop runs much more quietly also, I have noticed. Lack of space is a downside but I just use a separate portable HDD to store all my videos etc.
  9. Nice shots. They put the 360 version to shame! The new consoles can't come soon enough for me.
  10. About an hour or so in and my need to get every collectible has seen me screwed over big time. I googled the location of the first side quest key and followed the link to gamefaqs forum. In the topic someone had posted a question about the key only for a helpful little clearing in the woods posted a game-ruining spoiler in response, the equivalent of that moment in Bioshock. **** hell. I suppose I will play through anyway.
  11. Nothing wrong with smelling nice, in my opinion. In the same way that men never really change their haircut as they age, I still like to splash on the Hugo Boss I used to wear back when I was a skinny 17 year old heading up to DNA in Brum!

    Lego!

This was the first Lego set I built all by myself, without the aid of my dad. I have no idea what happened to it but I loved that castle, spent hours playing with it as a kid.
  13. I may have read it wrong but part of his defence is that he was without his prosthetic legs and therefore felt vulnerable and had limited mobility. He also claims that after shooting her he carried her downstairs, how did he do this on stumps? Is that possible? Or did he stop to put his legs on while his girlfriend lay dying? There is no way this is going to hold up, surely.
  14. Yeah... I just pretend I live in Solihull.
  15. Hope so! It's an exciting opportunity to get a player on really low wages! Get in!
  16. How many times does it have to be explained to you? Nobody is treating these players badly, rather they are questioning their pedigree at a time when we are in desperate need of quality that will make an instant impact in order to keep us up. The playing history of these guys suggests that they don't. By all means I hope they are undiscovered gems, but the odds of that are slim. I doubt you have seen them play either, so how can you defend them so vociferously?
  17. Someone mentioned Groundhog Day earlier in the thread, I feel like I've read this argument every day for the last few years. If we just clear out the deadwood we will suddenly start buying quality players again, and yet no matter how much shit we clear nothing seems to change. No idea what the plan is at this club, there is no vision, ambition, anything apart from reduce the **** wage bill. Then what?
  18. Look at your very own avatar, those wrinkles and bags look badass!
  19. It's been out a good couple of years. This is the original rather than the sequel (Last Light). It's a promotional push akin to when Borderlands was free on PSN prior to Borderlands 2 dropping. I played through it when it came out, and while the world is atmosphericl and reasonably intriguing, the combat mechanics are dogshit.

    Relegation

What I don't understand is: anyone who is concerned about our desperately thin squad, composed mainly of youngsters and journeymen, is roundly mocked as being nonsensical. There is an assumption that we will suddenly start winning matches in the second half of the season based upon what? Hope? Our capitulation against Man City, along with the amount of leads we have squandered, illustrates the fragility of our inexperienced players. Surely it has to be recognised that we are struggling badly. We are not even achieving one of the long-standing cliches bandied about in football, beating those around us. Hopefully we do scrape through, but what then? Is there a plan for the future? If the evidence of the last few years is anything to go on, any players that show genuine ability will be sold. And their replacements will be of an inferior standard. Where is the club headed?

I'm all for being optimistic, but you are extrapolating here based upon nothing but hope. How can you possibly know that this particular approach is the one which will allow us to reap any sort of reward? There is no evidence of that currently. What if the long term planning gets us relegated in the short term? Is it still the correct approach? To me it seems that all we are attempting to build is a team that can cling to Premier League survival on the lowest possible wages, and it's a big gamble.
