  1. I'm expecting we come out all guns blazing Aug 5th, and I'm certainly gonna be critical right away, if I see something I don't like. We have to remember he's then had the magical, mystery preseason, which will make all the difference in the world, or so we've been told.
  2. Ledley is shit, then again Whelan is even worse. What would they offer that we aren't already getting from the Jedi? We need to be looking after actual reinforcements, and preferably way under the age of 30.
  3. If we sign Alex Bruce, Tom Huddlestone and Ahmed Elmohamady I'm off to support the scum or whatever.
  4. I like it, we'll need to hit the ground running, otherwise Bruce will be gone by mid September.
  5. Even though you are correct, please don't post it a third time.
  6. Whichever way you wanna look at it, it's obvious he failed last season. I'm not saying it was an easy task, but imho he made it even harder for himself, with questionable tactics and poor team selection. The one million dollar question is will he fail yet again.
  7. Well in that case I'd say we have no promotion rival(s) what so ever.
  8. No worries. Obviously I wasn't being serious. But I do seriously think we'll have trouble beating any team, if our strategy is going to be that of last season. Sitting deep, keeping it tight defensively, and lumping it forward, hoping that our strikers do the business.
  9. The way we've been playing, I sure do.
  10. What does that have to do with our promotion charge?
  11. I don't think for a second anyone actually cares how we get promoted, or what style of football is displayed, if in fact we do achieve promotion. Seriously though, given what we've seen so far under Bruce, can you really blame anyone for having doubts? I would like to think the (only) target for next season is automatic promotion. Mostly due to the amount of money spent already.
  12. I'm sure I've read this exact same thing now for the past two years. I wholeheartedly agree, but I do despair and don't think he'll develop further.
  13. Sure, they'd all be welcome. While we're at it, can we please also rewind to 2008.
  14. Do you accept that making the play offs is good enough?
  15. We better, otherwise the pro-Bruce camp will be whinging until Christmas with the excuse we didn't have a 'settled squad' at the start of the season.
  16. Monk would surely be a risky appointment, with promotion being a must, still I'd rather we 'gamble' on him than on Bruce.
  17. This might be true, but it doesn't mean he's actually good at holding the ball up. Fwiw I think he's quite terrible at it, and always has been. His 'game, has always been about pace, and now that that's more or less gone, I don't really see what he offers anymore. For me he'd be a 4th or 5th choice option from the bench, at best. Would rather see we utilize the youth.
  18. Nothing would please me more than to see this thread moved to 'other football'.
  19. Really thought he'd flourish this season, but it wasn't to be. His attitude is still questionable at times, and he certainly hasn't been helped by Bruce's preferred 'playing style'. Having said that, no way in hell should he be sold.
  20. Well he's scored around 10 goals a season (all comp) for Stoke, even less these last few years. I wouldn't exactly call that "scoring for fun", unless the comparison is Gabby,
  21. He sure feels like a likely 'Bruce signing' as well. He'd no doubt be good enough for the current level, but then again, it'd most likely mean we'd persist with a long balls game. So no thanks.
  22. Looking at the final table. We're 18 bloody points off a playoff position. When Bruce arrived we were 10 points off. Utterly baffling that some are still behind the manager, let alone talk about progress. He might have had 20 promotions from this league for all I care, there's absolutely no reason to think we'll do any better under Bruce next season. Get rid. ASAP.
  23. What's not to like. The last time we had actual footballers wearing the shirt.
