  1. What makes you think that? Honest question. Please don't reference his 4 earlier promotions.
  2. Apart from the 'stability factor', I really see no point in persisting with Bruce. He'll never get us playing anything resembling football. I said it when he was appointed, and I'll say it again, Bruce is simply a relic of the past. Furthermore he isn't interested in changing his approach, nor do I think he ever could, even if he wanted to. Promotion next season is paramount. I honestly despair, knowing this is as good as it gets with Bruce at the helm. Sad times.
  3. It sure seems a strange reality if we actually have to choose between losing by playing quality football, or winning with lackluster hoofball.
  4. Well, not at present, seeing as we're still on an unbeaten run. The best we've seen all season. If we totally fade out and don't improve from this, then perhaps he should go at the end of the season. I don't want to see us 'playing it safe' for the remainder of the season, and I refuse to think Bruce would do just that, given what's at stake.
  5. Well, one thing is for certain, this shit ain't gonna be good enough come next season. Personally I'm still expecting some improvement these remaining games. I wouldn't be against a new (better) manager in the summer, then again I honestly can't think of anyone, who'd be available, and willing.
  6. If we're simply considering the amount of time he's had in a vacuum, how much money's been spent, I'd be inclined to agree with you. As would a fair few others I'd suspect. Fact is we had a shitload of other problems, meaning the task at hand was entirely different than that of Derby, Newcastle or whatever other club you wish to compare with. The awful run in Jan-Feb was still piss poor, and shouldn't have happened.
  7. Absolutely spot on. Personally I find this quite odd. Why does he keep on banging about it, if he's not going to do anything? Surely he still has every intention of actually improving our playing style, possession, etc.? Anything else would seem plain stupid, and possibly detrimental to his career. I'm really looking forward to the next game, hoping for a completely new approach.
  8. This bickering is pointless. Now that promotion is effectively out of sight, it's up to Bruce to deliver, something else than this turgid cowardball. I'm certain he'll show his worth in the remaining games, whatever that may be. Honestly, I'm rooting for him, because I simply can't bear another year discussing 'the manager'.
  9. Not that many actually calling for his head at present. It's more of a concern, that apart from getting better results, there hasn't really been much genuine progress from a playing perspective. Fact is we've spent a lot of money, and now have a good squad. This should yield far better performances.
  10. Tried to be funny. Obviously I know your stance. I keep going back and forth myself, one week to another. If I read a sensible post regarding stability, progress, etc. l'm inclined to continue with him. On the other hand, a well motivated more critical viewpoint, just as easily gets me thinking we'd be better off with someone else at the helm. Today I'm thinking stability is more important. But my god I wanna see us playing better.
  11. Is it really too much to ask to get better team performances, yet still having a good shout at promotion? Usually things like this go hand in hand. Bruce has shown he can get results. He hasn't however shown us much else, and he's certainly been backed considerably. He's had about 6 months now, and without Kodjia we'd still be in relegation. Sure, we'll most likely improve in the summer, because more money will be spent. However, I do not believe the performances will ever improve all that much under Bruce. He might still get us promoted next year. Then again so would probably a lot of other managers as well, given the resources at disposal.
  12. And let's not forget the Bacuna factor!
  13. So you're saying "Bruce out" then!?
  14. It was bound to end sooner or later. The problem is there for all to see. Bruce is not the solution. He never was.
  15. Yes for some, simply winning games is enough, for others it isn't.
  16. Terribly sorry for expressing my honest opinion.
  17. We are shit. We've been shit for most of the season, actually. We've just won an unexpected amount of games still. For me Bruce is not the man take us forward. He's simply not interested in developing any sort of game plan. It's nice that we've become solid at the back, and what not, but it just isn't enough.
  18. Are you seriously arguing as 'a fact', that we'd actually have the same amount of goals and the same results if he'd have been replaced with any of our forwards we had at the time?
  19. It's pointless to debate this, since no one can know for certain how we'd have fared without him. We might not have scored any goals at all. Then again in fantasy land, Westwood might have scored a hattrick every game. But fact remains, without his 15 goals, and the amount of points they've actually yielded, we'd be in relegation.
  20. Agreed, my choice of words were slightly strong. The only positives for me from that period was the results, which were good. If that makes me masochist, so be it. Have to agree again, we seem to be playing better now, and it really pains me that I haven't been able to see our most recent games.
  21. Comparisons aside, fact is we'd linger in relegation without Kodjia. He is a terrible team player though, and I wonder if he has the humility to ever develop that part of his game.
  22. I've come to learn recently that 'things take time'. This surely applies to Amavi as well, given he's still young, and has just overcome a horrific injury. FWIW I think he's a real gem, future France international. He's been mostly poor though this season. His strengths lie further up the pitch, so giving him a run as winger or wing back makes sense.
  23. (Almost) all of them? We barely scraped a draw against Wolves. Got lucky with a last minute penalty against Reading. Late Kodjia magic against Fulham. Against Birmingham we never looked like winning, and you could see the equaliser looming. Once again a few moments of brilliance from Kodjia to barely overcome a poor Blackburn at home. Okay we played some good stuff again Brighton away, but they were at us pretty hard second half. I don't remember Cardiff at home, but we won 3-1 so we probably played some decent stuff. Wigan at home, Greaslish screamer in the end. I suppose I don't really need to continue? I'm not saying we were utterly abysmal in all of these games, just that the performances haven't been all that great, even though we've won, and I honestly do think we've been quite lucky with some of these results.
